Boxycharm is a fantastic value. I’m always happy each and every month. Yes, I do get items I don’t want or cant use. I put them in a shoe box. I let my boss and friends go through my unwanted items once a year. Whatever is left gets donated to a women’s shelter.

Base gets lime crime and luxe gets some unknown brand palette with super boring colors! Man I want to cancel luxe but I have serious fomo!! Plus I’m sure if I cancel I won’t get that l.c. palette!

I had all 3 levels for awhile and I kept feeling like the regular box on the Luxe months had better items in it overall…even despite the different number of total items per box and the $25 price difference. Back in December I chose to cancel Premium and Luxe. I was very happy I did that (plus with pop up access you can get a lot of things from all the boxes. I started curating my own BoxyLuxe with $50 and POPUP)! There was an Ofra palette that I really wanted in January Premium, so I resubscribed near the end of December and ended up with both December and January Premiums, ugh! I’m still very happy to have cancelled BoxyLuxe!

Debbie, you have to go into your account on Boxycharm and cancel your subscription. MSA can’t cancel your account as this is just a subscription review/spoiler website. I’m pretty sure Boxycharm doesn’t check out this website.

@Deanne I totally agree with you! People try to cancel on message boards and on the comment section on Facebook posts. I always think, no wonder no one every responded to your comment! I don’t mean to sound insensitive, but feel badly when people say they reach out and hear nothing back!
I’ve never not had my question or conflict NOT answered when I reach out through Boxycharm.com or Ipsy.com. I usually hear back within 24 hours!
Deanne
Their* thanks auto correct!

I wonder how these people manage to sign up to begin with, much less find there way to a totally irrelevant comment section!, No offense meant but it’s kind of funny.

Sometimes the products are labeled specifically for the subscription box because the packaging is reduced or changed so that it will fit the size and weight requirements that the subscription gives them. For example getting a plastic tube instead of a glass jar of a moisturizer that has the same ingredients it’s just an exclusive item because the packaging is made to weigh less and be less fragile.

111 skin has never done anything special for my skin and I’m honestly hoping to get anything else than this brand in my box.

I finally cancelled luxe for this… base is always better than luxe to me

JoJoB
Pam when you canceled did you get to make a base choice? I want to do the same. Now that everyone has access to the sales at the same time there is literally no reason to keep luxe. Base beats it every time. In fact, it seems to me base is at its most AMAZING during luxe months!

I did get to make a base choice after canceling luxe. I was surprised it was still an option. But honestly, everything I’ve seen for base would have been better than what I’ve seen for luxe.

111Skin can’t possibly be worth what they say their retail prices are and still be in these boxes. There’s no way this is worth $140 and in a $25 box with other things. And it has diamond in it? Ground diamond is used in industrial applications for sawing and polishing. I would MUCH rather have an eyeshadow palette from a brand I’ve wanted to try than more of this skincare that seems to lie about it’s value. BTW, the diamond was the only ingredient on the list that isn’t in less expensive brands of skincare and it’s the second to last ingredient. I would rather buy my own skincare and be able to choose an all makeup box. There are really incredible inexpensive makeup brands that I would rather have.

The 111 Skin is made in a different country than what they sell on their website. I question the quality difference and am no longer happy about getting them in boxes. I think there is a lot of variation in what we get in boxes vs retail. For example, I bought the DC Berries and Cream palette. It is made in the USA and the pigment and quality are LEAPS and BOUNDS above the DC Sweater Weather and Celestial Thunder palettes I got in Boxycharm boxes.
More people need to be aware of the shadiness of this practice!

Checked the brand of my sweater weather pallet from ipsy. DC. Mine was great. And 2 friends got it. Also great.

The companies, as I understand it, are aware that their products will be made elsewhere and approve the level of quality.

I noticed that too, that sweater weather was way below par. many of these items come with a made exclusively for boxycharm sticker, and that’s actually just what they need to do to be upfront about it, honestly.

I got a pallet called Sweater Weather from ipsy. I love it. Ill have to check the brand. It was all mattes. And great.

And why are standard Farmacy products labeled with “made specifically for Boxycharm”? What does that mean and if they are already established products, why do that? For cheaper ingredients, that’s why.
Reply
Marion
From what I’ve heard from others, Farmacy is one of the few whose ingredient list appears to be the same on the brand website & on what we get in boxes.
You can’t “return” an item to Sephora/Ulta/etc if it has the “Made for BoxyCharm” label.
Makeup86
I don’t think Farmacy is one of those brands that pulls that crud, I think they just label it that way so it doesn’t get resold for full price on eBay.

Love it! Hoping for the 111skin, the reviews about this product are very positive.

Just a little heads up. The 111 Skin products are made differently, the ingredients and country made in are different, for BoxyCharm/Ipsy than the ones you can purchase directly from 111 Skin.

I went deep diving and email a few companies and was assured that the ingredients are all the same.
Earth Harbor
Farmacy
Glow Recipe
Avant
Elemis
These are a few that I have contacted. I have also compared ingredients with the ones that I have received with the products online. I am not doubting you at all, but how do you know that this is fact?
Tabbycat
I love the 111 Skin products, but I see complaints from others online that they aren’t worth the price. But I am always happy to receive them in a subscription box!

Darn I wish I could cancel luxe I noticed the last few times the regular base box was a whole lot better than luxe and now I already missed the choice opportunity for base

Cb I just canceled my luxe and got base choice. The Murad was no longer a choice but I got to choose between the Glow Recipe banana moisturizer (what I wanted as I already have the Murad) and the Too Face primer. After I canceled luxe all I had to do was close my browser and reopen it and choice for base was there.
Reply
Pam
My choices were between murad exfoliating cleanser, too faced damn girl mascara, and glow recipe banana soufflé… I don’t know why the choice time is longer than usual, but I think it was worth it to cancel luxe and go for base even if I couldn’t have chosen
Reply
Pam
I cancelled luxe a couple hours ago and still got to make a choice for base
Reply
Cb
Oh wow so if I cancel luxe will it automatically let me choose a product for base then?
Also what choices did they let you choose between?
Thank you for your advice

If I were to sign up for Boxycharm, would I receive this box or the box for April?
Reply
Lindsay
Depends if there’s a waiting list? But if you sign up now and no waitlist you’ll get this box for March.

Jean
If you sign up now you will get February and this box for March. You will not be able to choose a product until April’s box though.

OMG I will be STOKED if I get the LC palette – their eyeshadow is incredible! I’m going to be bummed if I don’t get it (even though I need more eyeshadow like I need to gain 30 lbs). What an amazing option! Whoever receives the palette will LOVE it. Their shadows are so creamy and blendable, it’s some of the best out there. Wow!
