Small Shop Baby Box Winter 2021 Review

"Cozy" Onesie from Beck + Palm - Retail value $18.00

This onesie is so cute! And soft! Last quarter's box had a onesie from the same shop but the onesie was Gerber brand. This one is Bella + Canvas so it feels like much better quality and softer. The fabric is still thin which makes it work well as a layering piece. I'm all about the cozy vibe and the minimal aesthetic of this onesie!

Srunchie Socks in "Oatmeal" from London Bridges - Retail value $9.00

These socks are made with super soft cotton. They're really stretchy and can be worn pulled all the way up, scrunched down, or in between and they look adorable. I love these!

Bubble Toy and Snack Leash from Sweet P Baby Co - Retail value $13.00

In the Fall Box, they sent a toy tether that had a suction cup on one end, but I really think this velcro loop is an even better design! It feels more secure and is perfect for tying a toy or snack cup to her car seat, shopping cart, or high chair. The beads are silicone and safe for teething, too.

Baby Headwrap from Ives and Honey - Retail value $10.00

What an adorable headwrap! This wine-red color will go with so many different outfits. The material is also interesting -- it's stretchy, but also feels cool and light. I didn't think this would fit her head at first but it stretches more than I expected and works perfectly.

Foldable Snack Cup from Gray Haven - Retail value $15.99

Snack cups like this are amazing. It's silicone so it's bendy and flexible, and collapses when it's empty. These are perfect for the car or grocery shopping or something! It works well for your kid to have a spill-proof way of holding their own snacks. We've used the munchkin brand snack cups like this, but what I like better is that this one has a little lid! This way, crumbs don't fall into your purse or bag. I will say that it's not easy to pour snacks in -- you kind of have to hold the top open with one hand and pour the snack in with the other, or you have to push the snacks in.

Here's my daughter with the onesie, socks, and headband! Unfortunately, no matter how cute the headband is, it doesn't stop her from pulling it off after a few minutes. I love this little outfit for while we're at home, and toss on some leggings and a jacket to go on errands!

Verdict: The Winter 2021 Small Shop Baby Box was so fun to open! I know we will get a lot of use out of all of the items and I love the way the onesie and accessories come together. The quality of each item seems solid, including the onesie this time, which was the one thing I thought could improve in last quarter's box. The box costs $52 including shipping, and with a retail value of $66, it comes to about a 23% discount. Important to note: Small Shop Baby Box promises that each box will have over 30% savings vs buying each item from each shop individually. When you consider the fact that I'd have to pay shipping costs from each small shop for each item, I would say that promise is met here. I love knowing that I'm supporting small business owners through this subscription as well, which is a contributing factor to my satisfaction with the value. I'm happy, excited to see more from this subscription.

To Wrap Up:

Can I still get this box if I sign up today? No, the winter box is sold out. Their quarterly box releases every 4 months, and the orders for this Winter box opened in December, so keep an eye out around March/April for the Spring box.

Value Breakdown: This box costs $49 and has a retail value of $66. Here is what you are paying approximately for each item:

  • Onesie: $14.18
  • Socks: $7.09
  • Toy tether: $10.24
  • Headband: $7.88
  • Snack cup: $12.60

The socks and headband are really nice! It isn’t a box that I’d grab as a mom though due to low value over cost (I’d rather grab a couple items I love from an Etsy shop or from a boutique sale than spend $50+ on an assortment I may or may not like,) and the onesie would have been a huge miss for me. I’d rather a onesie with a cute print I can’t find at a typical store than ones with words which are not hard to find.

The practical acsessories are nice, though, for a baby box to include.
