LiveGlam Lippie Club January 2021 Review

Here is our info card for the month.

Shall we see what they look like?

LiveGlam Matte Liquid Lipstick in 'Ambitious'

The info card describes this shade as a golden peach, which isn't how I would have described it when I first put it on, but now looking at the photos I totally see that. I don't know if it is my fair skin or the green shirt that I was wearing when I first tried this lippie on, but I was not loving it. The shade glides on nicely with a smooth matte finish, but the color really washed me out. Maybe this will be a shade that I reach for in the summer months when I have more of a glow to my skin, but right now I think the golden tones in this shade brought out the red undertones in my complexion leaving me looking a bit flushed. I will for sure try this again in the next few months though!

LiveGlam Matte Liquid Lipstick in 'Motivated AF'

This shade was really not for me. It went on really well with a smooth finish, but when I showed my husband he said it looked like mud so now that is all I can see. The info card describes this as a warm toffee which I can agree with. Again, I think this shade just doesn't work well with my skin tone, leaving me feeling a bit muddy and washed out. I am going to pass this along to a friend that is a bit more adventurous with lip shades and who has more of an olive complexion.

LiveGlam Lipstick in 'Worthy'

Here we go, this shade is just right! The lipstick is creamy and glides right on for a sleek finish, it also has that sugary sweet smell that a lot of cream-based lipsticks have that I really love. It is a deep pinky/nude shade that really compliments my fair skin. This is a shade that I could see myself using year-round and works so well with the makeup shades that I tend to use on a daily basis. I have found myself reaching for this lippie most days since I got it!

Verdict: This was my first time receiving the Lippie Club collection. While the first two liquid shades were misses, I fell deeply in love with the 'Worthy' lipstick. The deep pink nude was calling my name and has already become a daily staple that matches my usual makeup look. I love how easily it glides on and works well with so many lip liners that I have as well – a huge bonus! I do want to start branching out though, especially since I am going on almost 4 years of wearing pink/nude shades almost exclusively. That is why I am hoping to reach for the 'Ambitious' shade a bit more in the summer months when I have more of a tan, and I am hoping the color will work better when I am not as fair. Overall I was really excited to try this box and was happy to find at least one shade that was perfect for me. I love trying lipsticks so I can't wait to see what the Lippie Club has in store for me!

You and I have similar skin tones, so I especially appreciate you modeling each shade! The last one is truly beautiful. I have a few liquid lipsticks from Lippie Club and I really like the formulas. They have great staying power, in my experience! Hope next month is a better fit for you! I often want to re-sub, but I’m swimming in lipsticks … I have a problem. ;D

Thank you so much! Yes I absolutely loved the texture so I am excited for when I can find a shade in the liquid that works.

Worthy is pretty! The first two shades…erm not so much. It might be worth trying to use the first as a “tint” by putting on lipbalm first, then just a smidge of the lipstick and use a finger to rub it in. That’s what I do with a lot of my lipsticks I get in subs that are too bold or a bad shade for me. Sometimes it doesn’t help any, but other times I’ll discover a shade is actually flattering at a much lower opacity.

That is a great idea, I am going to give that a try!

Man, lipstick is so hard to nail sometimes! Nothing worse than putting something on to look better….. only to look worse and washed out ugh (story of my life.)

Thank you for modeling each color! The last one is definitely a winner on you. Sadly each of these lipsticks would definitely not work for me unless I was going for the walking corpse look 😂

Too funny 😂

I think at one point in my life (super long time ago!) I wore concealer on my lips….How utterly atrocious 😖
