GlitzGlam "Endgame" December 2020 Review

This month's GlitzGlam Box theme is Endgame – Goodbye 2020! I for one, thoroughly enjoyed the theme this month. Good riddance, 2020 threw us all for a wild ride! An info card that lists the products on the front was included. The back of the card had a promotional code to use on GlitzGlam's website.

GlitzGlam Box Diamond Silk Lashes – Listed Value $8.99

My favorite items in GlitzGlam's monthly boxes are usually their lashes!  They always seem to be great quality and reusable. Once again, I am not disappointed as I am in love with these lashes! The lashes are in the style "Princess". When reading the info card before seeing the actual item, I thought maybe the lashes might include diamonds on them. No diamonds, but I still felt like a starlet!

The lashes include a thick band for easy glue application. I video-chatted a friend after putting these on, and the first thing she asked was "Where did you get your lashes done?". Great quality!

DoColor 9 Color Shadow Palette, 11.25g– Listed Value $12.99

I received this palette in the theme "Mind", which has shadows and glitter in yellow hues. I tend to get a lot of shadows in browns and yellows. This palette wasn't too different from the rest. I really like how this particular brand has different themes for different colors of the palettes. For instance, Mind has shadows in yellows. "Space" has shadows in blues.

I'm a little bummed that this palette doesn't include names for the different shadows, as I would love to name my faves. Aside from that, I was impressed by the high pigmentation of these colors.

My husband walked by while I was doing this review and said "You look crazy right now, what's going on?" Haha! On the left side, I have the glitter shadow, on the right I used the burnt orange shadow. That glitter shadow lasts ALL DAY. Seriously, it's kind of hard to get off. I had to vigorously rub my eye with coconut oil to remove it. The burnt orange was a lot easier!

KleanColor Mellow Gel Eyeliner-Shimmer, 1.2g – Retail Value $1.50

This smooth, buttery eyeliner is in the color Copper Gleam and is a part of the "shimmery" collection by KleanColor. It gives chic NYE vibes, so a good choice for our Bye 2020 box.

I had to rub the pencil on my arm a few times before it would actually show. I'm more of a black eyeliner wearer. I don't play around with colors too much. But, I may use this with my eyeliner sealer and make it into a nice chrome shadow as I love this tone against my skin!

Skin Chemists Rose Quartz Lip Plump, 8ml – Retail Value $25.00

I've only used a lip plumper gloss one other time before this, and only because my lips were SUPER dry, I forgot my chapstick, and that was all one of my friends had for me to borrow. I've personally never felt the need for one, but I think they're nice if you'd just like a little extra *oomph* of lip poutiness.

(L: Without gloss R: With gloss)

The formula didn't feel very moisturizing, more of a sticky substance when applied. My lips felt super tingly as well. Not a bad tingly per se. More of a "my lips are growing" tingle, haha!  I was really hoping it would be more moisturizing as I am ALWAYS wanting moisture in my lip products (especially in the winter months).  I didn't notice too much of a difference in the size of my lips from before and then after using.

Verdict: This month's GlitzGlam box had a New Year's Eve theme, and I think all items were nice examples of glitz, sparkle, and posh! The Diamond Silk Lashes were my fave! They made me feel like such a starlet and were super easy to apply – even a beginner could apply these like a rockstar! This subscription costs $17.99 ($15 + $2.99 shipping), and I estimate that I received $48.48 in value this month. This is about average for GlitzGlam.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Sadly, no, because they are preparing next month's box. BUT, you can shop on their website and find similar items!

Value Breakdown: At $17.99 ($15 + $2.99 shipping) for this box, here’s what you are paying approximately per item:

  • Lashes - $3.34
  • Palette - $4.82
  • Liner - $0.56
  • Lip Plump - $9.28

The glitter shade in the eye palette is made from plastic (polyethylene therephthalate), according to the website linked, and should NOT be applied to the immediate eye area. (By law, this should also be indicated on the packaging somewhere.)

Nice selection of items for the price point! Great review. The bit about your husband thinking you looked crazy with your two different eye looks was hilarious. I love that eyeliner color for you. Maybe do a black line as usual then ad a second layer just above it with the bronze one?

Thank you so much! And yes my husband loves to clown me haha! That’s a wonderful suggestion about using the black and a color liner over. I will try this and hopefully share in a future review. 🙂

The lashes look great on you! Also I like the copper color eye look. Your husband is funny, but wrong, that was a very pretty eye look.

I have never worn false eyelashes. I think the idea makes me nervous because I don’t know how. But this review makes me want to try. 😉

Thank you so much! And YES! Definitely give them a try. They can be intimidating haha. But I’ve found thicker bands on lashes are a lot easier. Let me know how it works out for you 🙂
