FabKids Subscription Review + Coupon – January 2021

FabKids (little sister brand to Fabletics and JustFab) is a monthly clothing subscription for boys and girls that allows you to shop in two ways – you can shop the regular store, or you can sign up for their VIP membership. VIP memberships work like this:

  • Take the FabKids quiz for your child (for multiple children you can add a kid) to note their size and style preferences.
  • Each month, FabKids releases a new collection and they will curate looks that match your child’s preferences which you can view in their personalized FabShop.
  • Shop those looks at 40% off what you’d get just paying retail, or skip the month. You have to make your decision by the 5th of the month. If you do neither, the $39.95 monthly membership fee will be saved to your account as a credit, which you can put towards other outfits later.
  • As you shop, you’ll also earn points that can be applied towards future purchases.

FYI, COVID-19 Update: Stay up to date on shipping delays, updated return policies, and more right here.

My Subscription Addiction paid for this subscription. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

FabKids Girls January 2021 Review

It looks like the monthly cost of this subscription has gone up to $39.95, however, if you make sure to skip or shop each month, you’ll never actually have to pay this. While it seems I am grandfathered in to the $29.95 pricing, they did prompt me to upgrade my account which is the screen shown above. I did choose to upgrade my account and immediately it looked like items in the shop were marked down by 40% and I received an email with a surprise perk of free shipping on orders $49+ as well as double rewards points for the rest of the year. While I’m not ready to shop just yet, I’ll let you know what happens next month!

When you sign up they will ask you a few questions about your child: their name, age, clothing size, favorite weekend activity, and which outfit you prefer out of a few options. This helps to personalize your child’s FabShop each month. If you have multiple kids you are shopping for, there is an option to add a kid.

We received a coupon for Hello Fresh in our package. Check out our thoughts on Hello Fresh here.

Our packaging made note of some new sizing that they have. It looks like your labels might not match what you selected online. For instance, the leggings we ordered were a size M (8) online, but the label on the leggings we received says L (8/10). Hopefully, this means we’ll get a little extra wear out of them!

FabKids Dino Slip-On Sneaker, Size 11 – Retail Value $32.00, VIP Cost $24.95

Last year my son had a pair of dino slip-ons very similar to these (check them out here and see my review here) and he wore them all the time. They have lasted and will be passed down to my youngest son, and I loved how quick and easy they were for him to get on. I love the colors in this pair and my son was excited to have some new shoes just like the ones he has outgrown! These were kind of pricey, but I had a $10 off coupon to use so I think it balanced out in the end.

They are a bit big on him, but he was still able to run around in them comfortably. These should last through the spring and maybe summer, too!

FabKids Soft Legging, Size M – Retail Value $16.00, VIP Cost $12.95

We have several of these soft leggings and my daughter wears them all the time. They seem to last, although the color definitely fades over time but they are stretchy and usually fit her well. It seems that now that the size is an 8/10 instead of just an 8, they are pretty big on her. She didn’t seem to be bothered by it and I usually don’t mind since she grows pretty fast, but if your child is a true 8, this might be a problem! For her, they were baggy at the waist although they weren’t falling down, and they were very long on her as you can see from the large area of fabric she had rolled up here. These were on sale for $7.99 which I think is a fair price for these, especially if she is able to get long-term use out of them with the larger size.

FabKids Floral Corduroy Skirtall, Size M – Retail Value $34.00, VIP Cost $26.95

This corduroy skirtall was too cute, I could not resist! I love the colors, love the florals, and love the little overall style. It has two different button settings at the top so you can adjust it and the material is actually very light and not super thick making it a bit more comfortable than traditional corduroy. It has a little pocket with a fun ruffle on the apron and then two side pockets, too. While the leggings don’t match perfectly, I think they still work and as it warms up, we can trade those out for some white tights. The shirt she is wearing here isn’t exactly the best match, but I think a pale yellow top would be cute with it!

The Verdict: I wasn’t in search of anything specific when I did my FabKids shopping this month, but I managed to find some pretty cute items! The dino shoes were a worthwhile purchase knowing that they will last and be able to get passed down to my younger son and the skirtall was adorable and unique. The leggings were a bit big which is surprising considering these are an item where I thought I knew what I was getting, but hopefully, that means they will last us a long time! I ended up paying $54.62 including shipping for these items that retail for $82 and cost $64.85 with the VIP pricing before shipping.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Yes, although sizing is limited.

COUPON: Get two pairs of shoes from $9.95 + free shipping when you join! No coupon needed - just use this link.

Value Breakdown: The total retail price for everything is $82, but the VIP total is $64.85. That’s a VIP savings of about 21%, but since I only paid $54.62, I saved 33% off retail.
