Enchanted Crystal of the Month January Review

First, you'll see a greeting from Adam of Enchanted Crystal. I love these personal notes as they explain behind the scenes details.

Our specimen this month is Opalized Fluorite!

Opalized Fluorite

FYI: This piece is about 3 inches tall.

I am renaming this to the Enchanted Crystal Points subscription. I mean, I am in no way complaining. Points are my favorites! I actually have a fluorite point, so it is extra cool to see it next to an opalized version! Basically, this piece is a mix of fluorite and opal growing together. They don't normally form these points (this piece was cut and polished) but form massive chunks. I haven't actually ever seen this sort of thing before, and it is mesmerizing. The geometric patterns against the sharp lines and the blend of purple, white, and green feels like a modern painting. I am really taken by this piece and I feel so lucky to have it in my collection now.

Here it is next to a fluorite tower I purchased at a rock show back in 2019.

You can see the layers and imagine how those lines of opal grew as they did through this sort of structure!

Enchanted Crystal always sends bonus crystals or minerals in a small bag as well.

Good to Know: These are smaller and about an inch or less long.

Botswana Agate

Agate will always have a special place in my heart because of the waves, bands, and orbs that occur. They look like milky white smoke against grey in this particular little stone and each piece is completely random and unique!

Jasper

At first, I thought this might be the petrified wood, but I think it might actually be jasper. I am actually still not 100% sure.. can anyone confirm this for me? This does certainly have a wood-look to it, and the dark brown veins running through the tan is very pretty!

Petrified Wood

Again, this is the petrified wood, right? Aghhhh I hate not knowing for sure! Either way, this is a moody dark brown that I thought was striking.

Verdict: This month's Enchanted Crystal point was a truly stunning addition to my collection. I have a ton of points but this still manages to be unlike anything I have in my collection. I loved comparing it to my regular fluorite point and learning more about the process behind this beautiful fusion of opal and fluorite.

I never leave home without pug hair somewhere on my shirt and a bold lipstick on my smile.

I wish we could upload pictures here. I have a piece of petrified wood jasper that I got from my local gem show. It’s understandable how it would be confusing!

“Petrified wood is fossilized wood with the mineral composition of jasper, chalcedony and, less frequently, opal; it consists of silicon dioxide only. The organic wood is not changed into stone, but only the shape and structural elements of the wood are preserved.”

All of the stones are amazing this month!

I cannot wait to start this sub, I just found out about it today…I’m a total geek when it comes to this stuff & my collection is taking over but you can never really have too much…fluorite is one of my favorite gems…it’s an amazing stone.

Botswana agate is my favorite! When I was creating jewelry I used it often and the pieces always sold well. That is a pretty piece of picture jasper too. The point is amazing and something new to me. Great review, now I think I will subscribe!

Yep, you have the jasper and wood identified correctly!

I love picture jasper like you have there, they really look like desert landscapes. There is also a “wood jasper” that really looks like it has wood grain. I love it for making jewelry.

Yes, just wanted to also chime in that the pieces are labeled correctly.
