Heather Charcoal Crew Tee, Size M - Listed Value $16.00 (Similar shirt in Stone Grey)
After one month of color, we're going back to the greyscale, but I'm not complaining. I've been wearing a lot of sweaters and these shirts make great undershirts. If it gets too hot, I know I'll look good and comfy in my short sleeved shirt too. I've been wearing these shirts very often. Probably time to ax a few of my oldest shirts. My wife rejoices. Not a lot to report, but, as a Basic Man myself, that's a good thing.

Dark Grey Socks - Retail Value $12.00
These dark grey socks have small designs that look like leaves all over. They have the usual Basic Man stripes around the toe and are ribbed around the foot. As with most of the socks I receive with this subscription, they are a formal fit. I'm 5'9". They come up about 3/4 of the way to my knee. These socks are quiet and reserved.

Cabernet Boxer Briefs - Listed Value $15.00 (Similar pair in Aqua)
Last month, we got a cabernet shirt. Now we are getting the matching boxers. They are very smooth and soft and have some mesh for ventilation. They are made from 95% bamboo viscose and 5% elastane. As I mention in my reviews, these boxers ride up in the back for me. I really do like them overall, but I'd be lying if I said they were the first pair I reach for in my underwear drawer.
Verdict: Basic Man continues to live up to its name and I will always be a fan. I can always count on the shirt and boxers being consistently good. The socks change just enough to be the item I look forward to seeing the most. There is something to be said for essentially knowing what you are getting with a subscription box. Some boxes feel like a risk of whether you'll like the items or not. Risk can be fun. Safe can be boring. But Basic Man keeps it simple and delivers on its name. You know what you're getting for your money and that'll you'll be happy with it. I really like this sub and am happy to be basic.

Value Breakdown: The total value of the items is – and I suspect always will be – $43. That's a great value for a subscription that costs $19.99. The average cost of each of the 3 items is $6.66. The average value per item is $14.33. I saw on the Basic Man website that they'll give you a $9 discount if you buy a set together, but even with the discount, it is not less than the $20 for the subscription. Not to mention you have to pay for shipping via the website. So subscribers are getting a good value with this one.
