Pusheen Box Fall 2020 Review

Each box includes a simple info card that has a cute Pusheen print on the front (this month is celestial-themed) that coincides with the theme and a run-down of all of the items on the back.

Pusheen Velour Hoodie

I am not too sold on the gold design on this midnight blue hoodie. It would have been better if it had been embroidered. I worry it will come off in the wash over time. Other than that, I love velour for cozy times at home, and this hoodie is plush enough to go into my rotation. I also appreciate the hood for those especially chilly nights!

Pusheen Satin Sleep Mask

This is a really cute addition for a celestial night themed box. The satin fabric is super smooth and soft and comfortable on my skin. The size is also definitely for an adult. It fits my big noggin very comfortably and screens out any extra light at night. I found this arrived at a great time because we actually just had massive snowfall here in PA and even in the dead of night it was bright outside from the moon reflecting on the snow. It's gorgeous to look at, but annoying when you like to sleep in a dark room!

Pusheen Star Projector

This was an item that a lot of folks seemed to have difficulties with. From the Pusheen team:

We’ve heard some subscribers are experiencing problems with the star projector in this quarter's box. We are aware of it, and are working with any subscribers who need help. If you receive any questions about this from your audience, please direct them to reach out to our customer service team at [email protected] so we can help them further.

Additionally:

So far, we have learned Duracell, Energizer, Rayovac, Panasonic and Poweradd batteries are causing challenges.

From our tests, we have found that Amazon brand batteries, CVS brand batteries and Anker brand batteries work best.

We are working on a comprehensive list of batteries that are fully compatible.

Alternatively, we have also found that placing a small piece of cardstock behind one of the metal connectors makes it so that all batteries will work with the star projector.

I can't report any trouble with my projector. The whole thing did feel a little flimsy overall, but the twinking lights at night look super cute on the wall near my Christmas tree.

Oh, and here is a really ridiculous image of me in the mask, hoodie, and holding the projector.

Pusheen Satin Pillowcase Set

I use too many heavy sleep masks to treat myself to satin pillows, though I bet my hair would be smoother if I did...

Anyway, while I personally won't use these, they are so cute! I plan on passing them on to my friend's little girl who is kitty crazy! Each pillowcase features the same design: a cute Pusheen in yellow surrounded by stars, and the words: Out of this world.

Pusheen Coasters

Admittedly, I am not a coaster user. It is a bad habit. But these could change that a little, if only for the winter! Our tree this year is decked out in golden lights and navy velvet, so these look especially charming on my marble coffee table in the same room. And, sure, we don't have guests over right now. But between Will and I, surely we can make use of 4 coasters.

Pusheen Clock

This clock is SO cute!! I needed a little one for my office, and though I usually prefer numbers, I can't help but smile at the little zodiac Pusheen designs! I also like the navy color of the plastic body and the cute little round feet.

Pusheen Trinket Jar

I am pretty much a "trinket" hoarder. My desk is always covered with random earrings, pretty rocks I found outside, nail polish bottles, and other truly random things that often need a home. This plastic container is delightfully minimal while still having a super cute Pusheen and stars theme. I can always pop the top off and use it as a pen and pencil cup too!

Pusheen DIY Wall Hanging Kit

This might be the only thing I really disliked this month, mainly because I had to assemble it for the review. Otherwise, it never would have left the packaging! That being said, the assembly was easy, and the result was kind of cute, though I have no place to use something like this in my home.

I think my lack of enthusiasm shows. Sorry, all!

Moon Pusheen Figure

My last item was an adorable figure of Pusheen leaping over a crescent moon. I liked how simple and minimal this design was and think it will look super cute on the mantle in my office.

Verdict: This Pusheen Box was perfectly celestial. The theme was so cohesive and every item fit! While a few of the items I may not have loved (the DIY kit and pillowcases) the rest was nothing but cuteness and fun! If you have a Pusheen fan in your life (or maybe just a little kid who loves cute kitties!) this is such a fun box.

The box is cute, but getting this and the Winter box so close together made me realize I really don’t need all of this crap. The hoodie ran small so I went up a size for the winter box, but they still sent me the smaller size which was a bummer. NowI have two really cute sweatshirts that I can’t wear. I’ll same them for when I get rid of the quarantine 15 (more like 20).

I put the coasters on my desk, and the alarm clock went to my daughter due to the cute zodiac theme, but nothing else is getting used. I’m going to be selling a bunch of stuff on Ebay. Some stuff from the winter box I will save for when we have to start going back into the office. Will make my hellish cube cute. *shrug*

Funny. I just got my Winter box and it is sooo much better than the disappointing and cheap feeling Fall box.

okay thats a bit reassuring! and on second thought im still happy 🙂 a sweatshirt is always good and the other stuff at least is usable.

i sewed the pillowcases into basket liners. the hoodie’s nice as an around the house item, but i wouldn’t wear it outside. i wish the trinket jar was ceramic, but my mug from last year broke shortly after use, so maybe this will last longer.

I love my Pusheen Box, my 6 yr old and I share it. The top is so nice and soft, I have already wear it a few times and wash in a laundry bag as of now no issues. My daughter hung the craft we did together on her door, the vinyl and the projector is now her night light, we kept it on the solid light one.
The coasters are being use on our night table and they are so pretty. I agree some things was a bit of a downer specially since all the other boxes are a hit, but we made it work and using everything.

P.S. forgot about the coasters… I just have SO MANY COASTERS, so they were a bit of a letdown too. And they’re just cardboard, essentially, right? Another cheapish item.

Also, the card stock trick for the light is a fire hazard, so please don’t do that. My projector had some issues at first but I just kind of gently whacked it until it worked (I’m a big fan of “percussive maintenance”!). No issues since then.

I just stretched the wire coils very slightly in mine and then it worked. I thought the card stock idea sounded terrible also!

The coaster don’t feel like they will hold up long, I’m actually gluing mine into a picture frame, I have a white square picture frame that will hold them perfectly and use to decorate my cat crazy daughters room, as coasters I don’t think they would last.

Cute idea for the coasters!

Great review. I had mixed feelings about this box. I had intended to cancel but the celestial theme sucked me back in, because I love moon/stars/all that stuff. So I was kind of disappointed overall. I LOVE the figurine, hoodie (the words don’t bother me and I actually find them kind of subtle), pillowcases, and sleep mask. The trinket jar (which I am using for cat treats—seemed appropriate), light projector, and clock were all just OK. They all felt kind of cheap and I wish they had included batteries since two items needed them. But they’re still cute and useful. But finally, I hate HATE the wall hanging, so thank you for that, LOL! I found it really hard to put together, plus I would have rather spent my time doing something else creative. And my end result looked pretty stupid. Oh well! I do love Pusheen Box, but this fall box definitely let me know it was time for a break. Luckily I was able to cancel before the winter box charged me.

This was my first Pusheen box and overall I was mildly disappointed since it was a splurge (I’m a grad student). The pillowcases are a weird size and felt uncomfortable, could be reused as a wall hanging but I don’t have much wall space. The hoodie is comfy but not something I would wear outside the house. At least I don’t leave my house much these days…. I don’t like how they used words on everything, like Cosmic and Stardust, it would have been a lot better with just the images. The one thing I actually love is the plastic trinket box! I started using it to store cat treats and it looks super cute near his bowl on the kitchen counter. Highly recommend. The coasters are useful because I use coasters for everything. The clock is actually really cute and I put it on my desk. I cancelled after this box and I have a feeling that the next box is gonna end up being really good… but I know I don’t need more random stuff! (And no one on my small holiday list this year would be interested in Pusheen)

if it’s any consolation, the winter box is meh imo, as well. the sweatshirt is nice, so’s the plush, but that’s two items out of nine.

Charlotte

That does make me feel better, haha. But I hope the people who bought the winter box at least like it, I know the plushies are a big ticket item for a lot of people

I’ts interesting to know I’m not the only one who had issues with that projector. I tried three different brands of batteries and after no success I tossed it in the trash. Thought about contacting customer service, but this was my last box and it just seemed like a hassle. Wish I had known about the card stock. I kept the hoodie and vinyl figurine, but every other item went to the donation box. So many Pusheen boxes in the past were truly stellar, but the last few were just meh for me and I was on Pusheen product overload. Still a super cute kitty 🥰

Interesting box! Not for me, but definitely appreciate the review and a peek of that fireplace 😁

And I hear you about snow and the moonlight. Downright pretty but definitely makes it hard to sleep.

I thought some of the items did feel cheap but the curation was great and everything is really cute. I was charged for the winter box the day after I received this so I guess I’m getting another one even though I intended on cancelling. Hopefully there’s less plastic in the next one!

This was my first box from Pusheen and it wasn’t for me. I only opened the plastic wrap to see the contents, but I’ll be listing the box on eBay 🤷‍♀️

If I had a wee bit more splurge budget, this would be the one.

I love every detailed review and one day i will get this cute box! I had tried to use the black friday code but it never worked. By the time they got back to me the sale was over. I didn’t push it because this is an expensive box right now. One day i will get my pusheen fix lol

I didn’t have any trouble using stannard Duracell batteries in my star projector. My husband put in some of his rechargeable Energizer batteries and they did not work. I use it at night when I want a little light. I find it oddly cheering.

The pillowcases are okay. They kind of stick to my face, but I ran into that with another set of polyester satin ones.

The wall hanging and coasters won’t get much use. Like a lot of people I don’t use coasters and the wall hanging looks cheap.

The hoodie is nice for when I want a little more covering. The hood is almost comically deep, which is unusual. Most places will skimp on the fabric there.

I’m using the trinket holder for a figure that I need to re-assemble. The lid fits nicely, but like others, I could wish it was ceramic.

Overall, not a bad box.

This is an adorable box! I almost bought it, but the high placement and font choice for “Cosmic” on the hoodie made me realize I wouldn’t wear it. I love the color, though!

Also, as adorable as Pusheen boxes are, my house can’t really hold a lot of Pusheen themed items. I do love the box I got a while back with the plush robe and soap dispenser, I still use everything from that box! (Well, my children snitched the Pusheen loofa.)

Amy

Keeping my fingers and toes crossed I get this as my bonus box from the Black Friday code!

If not then I’ll probably try and buy that adorable clock, and maybe the vinyl figure though I doubt folks would be selling that

Excited for the winter box and to see what my surprise box will be! I’ve always loved Pusheen but could never justify $50 for one box no matter how cute!

The free box is the sailor one from summer 2019.

Aww man, I did the bogo and that’s a good one but have it already… hopefully different people get different boxes .. if not I’ll try to use bandanas to make a throw pillow, cut shirt into a tank top for warmer days and well that still leaves a lot of dupes 😣

Lexey

I have a complete box with a hoodie in size M that I would be willing to trade. It’s all really cute, but I think just not for me. I’d rather have someone get the box who would really like to have it.
