November 2020 Dapper Dog Box Review

Each box comes with two info cards, one listing the featured item of the month—the Dapper Dog monthly bandana—and the other has some social media info as well as a little more info about the charitable nature of this box.

Murray is ready to dig in!

Happy Howl-o-ween Bandana

Every month Dapper Dog includes a festive double-sided bandana. This style is simple to tie and fits perfectly around my dog's neck. This month's theme is "Blessed & Dog Obsessed," featuring one fall harvest pattern on one side and a Thanksgiving feast pattern on the flip side.

Here is the bandana modeled on my BFF, Murray (he is my 9-year-old Corgi-Maltese); the medium size fits him to a T!

Kocho Ultra Absorbant Puppy Pad, 1 pad - Buy 44 pads here for $39.99

Dapper Dog included this item as a bonus. Thankfully, I've never had to use puppy pads; Murray has always gone outside, even as a pup. This pad has 4 absorbent layers to avoid leaks and odors.

We received the bonus puppy pad this month because of the repeated items sent in this month's box. I like that they acknowledged their issues with suppliers due to the pandemic, but I think I would have liked a heads up before the box shipped.

Exclusively Pet Boho Biscuits, 8 oz – Retail Value $6.69

Murray has reviewed this particular treat three times this year from Dapper Dog. We actually still have an open bag in his cupboard from our September box.

Here is what I had to say about it then:

I love treats that you can just break apart and decide how much you want your dog to have. These square blocks are perforated to help you divvy out the right portion for your pup. Murray loves this type of chewy treat, and it also really smells like a pepperoni pizza! Exclusively Dog manufactures its products in the US using only natural food products not containing wheat, corn or soy.

Loving Pets Duck Bites Recipe, 5 oz

This treat is also a repeat from our March 2020 delivery. Here is what I had to say about it then:

Mur loved getting two types of soft treats this month; this duck flavored treat had him begging for more! I wasn’t thrilled to see that duck wasn’t the first ingredient, in fact, these star-shaped treats only have duck and turkey powder in them… I am honestly not sure what to think of that, and I’ll have to do more research on “duck powder” in dog treats. These are made in the USA and are grain-, wheat-, and corn-free.

I am still not sure what to make of this treat, but Murray really seems to like them.

Rubber Chicken Toy

This toy did not sit well with the Murdog. He wasn't really sure what to do with it, and I am not crazy about it, either. It is an old-school rubber chicken toy with a very loud squeaker. Murray loves squeaky toys, but this was even a little much for him.

Ryan tried and tried to antagonize him with the chicken, but he was not biting...

Dapper Dog Leg Toy

I have never seen any Dapper Dog branded toys, so I was pretty surprised by this find. This huge drummy is the perfect pillow for Murray to rest his head on between squeaking, biting, and even rolling on it.

Verdict: Murray and I were pretty underwhelmed by Dapper Dog's November box. We received two treats that were previously sent out by DD, and Murray was a little afraid of the rubber chicken. The bandana is always very cute and festive, but since we bypassed Thanksgiving this year, he was all dressed up with nowhere to go! Typically the Dapper Dog subscription's retail value equals out to the cost of the box, but I feel that since we were very lukewarm about its contents, it didn't quite feel "worth it" to us. This happens quite often in the subscription box world, so I hope that they really knock it out of the park next month!

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, sign up today to receive the December box.

Value Breakdown: This box costs $35.99/month, giving each of the 5 items in the box an average cost of $7.20.

I’m a self-proclaimed “cool mom” who loves a little, who am I kidding, a lot of razzle-dazzle. I have been box-obsessed for over 10 years, and I am always on the hunt for new beauty, fun flair and trendy clothing boxes. A fun night for me includes an exfoliating foot mask and a bag of Dot's Pretzels while binging Rupaul’s Drag Race.

I wasn’t happy this month either. My dog is 3 pounds so that turkey leg is twice his size. The chicken creeps me out. He disliked the pizza treats. Hoping next month is better

Me too! Your dog could probably use the turkey leg as a bed 😉
