Boxwalla Limited Edition Beauty Box: Antonin B Set 1 Review

Inside is a detailed info card giving some info on our featured products and some details on the French brand, Antonin .B. This brand is the creation of Kendy Bourguignon Sencée:

If I had to describe the concept in just a few words, I would say that Antonin .B is what happened when I sat down and decided to look at the past, with the future in mind. It was important for me to create products based on ingredients that spoke to my Caribbean roots, while creating space for our modern concerns around sustainability and pleasure in our beauty rituals.

I was born on the beautiful, butterfly-shaped island of Guadeloupe, in the Caribbean and I now live in the heart of Paris.

With Antonin .B and my now multi-award winning hair products, I aim to speak to people who are a little frustrated with their hair. You perhaps… I want to prove to you that you can have it all: quality and ethics in a clean beauty ritual you can actually enjoy.

There are TWO options you can select from in this set. Set 1 is designed for all hair types, including fine, straight hair. Set 2 is designed for thicker hair that may be wavy or curly. This review contains all three products to help you choose for yourself! Just keep in mind that both sets contain the Ceramides Enriched Desert Serum and either the Cocktail Street Fix (Set 1) OR the Editorial Street Fix (Set 2).

Antonin B Ceramides Enriched Desert Serum, 20 mL - Retail Value $45.00

Both sets contain this serum.

It only takes 3 drops of this serum to bring vibrancy back to your hair. The Ceramides Enriched Desert Serum is a lightweight yet powerful combination of exclusive botanicals and green innovation. It is particularly suitable for dry, color treated or chemically processed hair.

I don't really use a ton of product in my hair, but I do like hair oils. And this serum is a combination of a number of really great oils (kukui nut, hazelnut, jojoba, and more) mixed with loads of vitamins and antioxidants. I use oils like this everywhere except my roots because they can get a little greasy. I put a few drops in my palms, rubbed them together for warmth, and finger-combed the serum through my still damp but towel-dried hair. Winter is hard on my hair because it's already pretty dry, and anything that helps me fight static and frizz is something I am going to use! This formula helps in that area as well as adding softness and shine. You can even use this on dry hair for a midday smoothing touchup. This stuff has a very natural and earthy scent that some people might not like, but I am into it. This comes from the essential oils of ylang ylang, lime, and lemon.

Antonin B Backstage Cocktail Street Fix, 100 mL - Retail Value $45.00

Set 1 includes this item.

I am not someone who uses hairspray often because it can make my hair feel so crunchy! In fact, the only hair spray I have been using consistently for years is actually designed for thin hair, and though mine is thick, I like the light hold. I am happy to report that I really like this spray. It is totally on the lighter end of hold, which is exactly what I hoped for. It adds texture and body but somehow also made my hair feel smoother. I think the added texture is from the sea salt inside, which I am a big fan of. It has the same scent as the serum and I can totally see myself indulging in this over the winter, especially for sleek and tight top knots!

The following item replaces the Antonin B Backstage Cocktail Street Fix IF you select Set 2 which is designed for thicker hair that may be wavy or curly. Both sets contain the Antonin B Ceramides Enriched Desert Serum.

Antonin B Backstage Cocktail Editorial Fix, 100 mL - Retail Value $45.00

Set 2 includes this item.

This lightweight gel could be described as a thicker version of the hair spray from Set 1. It has a similar ingredient list and the same lovely scent. Since it was more of a gel, I tried it on damp hair, finger-combing it through starting about 4 inches down from my roots. I then let it air dry (because I still don't own a hairdryer and I am lazy). My hair looked sleek and shiny, but not at all flat. It was a very easy way to make my hair look like I had given it a little love and attention with minimal effort on my part, which is always a win, AND it helped fight frizz and static all day.

Verdict: I didn't know how I would feel about this LE Boxwalla. Sure, I know a ton about skincare, but haircare is a mystery to me. I liked that Boxwalla compared the emphasis we take on caring for our face to caring for our hair. Mine has always been neglected in comparison! I look forward to maybe ignoring it a little less and treating it to such nice products. It also feels just super fancy to have products from such a cool French brand on my vanity! If you are curious about this green brand and want to treat yourself and your tresses, this is a really fun box indeed.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you order today? Yes! But act fast if you're interested.

Value Breakdown: At $44.95 for this box, each of the two items has an average cost of $22.48.

I love natural/vegan beauty products, Korean skincare, unique jewelry, and weird candies from far away places. When I am not waiting for my next exciting box you can find me painting or taking photographs of interesting people. I never leave home without pug hair somewhere on my shirt and a bold lipstick on my smile.
