BomiBox K-Beauty Subscription September 2020 Review

BomiBox has detailed info cards for each month’s box on their website. The info card describes all the items included in the box and instructions on how to use them. This is great since a lot of the products have instructions that are not in English.

Jumiso Let's Go Kit - Retail Value $14

This is the second month in a row that Bomibox has sent a kit full of minis from a brand, and honestly, I’m a big fan of it. This contains mini products of the All Day Brightening and Balancing Serum, All Day Vitamin Clean & Mild Cleanser, Yes I’m Aha 5% Toner, and Snail and Centella Have A Good Cream. The Centella Snail Cream was the one I was most excited to try, and the nourishing mini didn’t disappoint. This kit is great if you’ve been curious about experiencing the Jumiso brand or need more minis to add to your skincare stash.

Secret Key Lemon Sparkling Peeling Gel, 120 ml - Retail Value $10.90

Peeling gels are a popular exfoliant in K-Beauty. To use, you apply the product to dry skin and massage it in for about thirty seconds. The product will “ball up,” and during that process, it exfoliates your skin. This has lemon water and lemon extract to aid the exfoliating, and Centella, aloe, and chamomile extracts to soothe any irritation. This isn’t my favorite way to exfoliate, but my skin was definitely smoother after using.

CellMax Brightening Oil Cleanser, 120 ml - Retail Value $11.90

This is a cleansing oil designed to break down makeup for a more thorough cleanse. It features jojoba oil, lavender oil, and argan oil along with vitamins A and C, and broccoli extract to cleanse while also nourishing the delicate eye area. I love oil cleansers for removing liquid lipsticks and heavy mascara, and this works well to break down makeup without tugging at my lashes.

Double Dare OMG! Rose Gold Duo Mask - Retail Value $4.95

I’ve only tried this brand through subscription boxes, but I honestly really enjoy them so I’m happy to see more of them. This features rose gold eye patches and a hydrogel sheet mask to wear on top, and the experience was delightful. The eye patches are infused with coffee and sage while the sheet mask has ruby powder, rose, and ginseng.

OMG! Mega Hair Band in Skyblue - Retail Value $8

I don’t necessarily need *more* hair bands, but I’m always happy to add to my collection when they’re soft, fluffy, and slightly outrageous – it’s just my style. This had enough stretch that it wasn’t uncomfortable on my big head, and I felt cute while wearing it.

Elensilia Escargot Original Repair Cream, 1.7 oz - Retail Value $34

The last Elensilia moisturizer I tried ended up being incredibly lovely, so I had high expectations for this one since both of them were infused with snail. This moisturizer is made with glycosaminoglycans, which help support your skin's production of collagen and elastin, along with snail secretion filtrate and Arbutin, which helps with hyperpigmentation. The cream is really smooth, but it did have a slightly sticky finish once it was applied.

Pyunkang Yul Essence Moisture Mask, 2 ct - Estimated Value $4.44 (buy ten for $22.21)

This is another brand I really like, and their toner essence is a favorite of mine. These sheet masks feature that same essence I love, so I’m happy this box came with two. This was a hydrating and nourishing hug for my face, and I have no complaints

The Verdict: This wasn't a bad box from Bomibox, but it didn't make my heart flutter the way some previous boxes have. I am really excited to have the Jumiso kit (the minis are adorable), and the Double Dare mask duo is a lot of fun. I will say, though, that it feels like this box is missing another full-size item. I'm not sure if that's because the curation is actually lacking another full-size item, or if it is because of my lack of excitement for the peeling gel and makeup remover. Value-wise, everything in this box adds up to $88.19, and I was surprised I was actually able to find every item available for sale – that doesn't happen most months.

To Wrap Up:

Can you get this box if you sign up today? Previous boxes are sometimes available in the BomiBox shop here. Order by the 15th to receive the current month's box. If you order today, your first regular box should be the November box.

Value Breakdown: At $39 for this box, you're paying approximately the following per item:

  • Secret Key: $4.80
  • CellMax: $5.26
  • Double Dare Mask: $2.19
  • Double Dare Hair Band: $3.54
