I can’t believe the full spoilers aren’t release yet!

Just got this – Coming in January
Get ready to ring in the new year with our picks (three full-size!) from Saturday Skin, L’Occitane, ManiMe, and more.

Oh, please tell me manime isn’t going to be counted as a full size.😬… i am trying to get excited about it.

Reply ButtonReply

Zoe

Right? Im going to skip if they dont release them soon because if Allure doesnt release spoilers smells fishy. When the box is good, they release it a month ago.

Reply ButtonReply

Mary

I was seriously considering skipping, but when I saw the lipstick I got really excited – love the color

Reply ButtonReply

hannah

is it possible to skip a box if not subscribed through amazon? these spoilers a terrible to me so i don’t have hope for the rest of the box :/

Reply ButtonReply

Errmmm

yup, just call Allure at 800-274-1603

This box is off to a way better start than the last few months. I love the Saturday Skin brand so I’m excited to try the scrub. The nail stickers are interesting and I understand why based on their business that they had to offer a gift card. It looks like I can get 2 sets of a solid color with free shipping for the $30 and am very excited to try something new! Lipstick color is beautiful although I haven’t worn much lately but that’s not Allure’s fault, will be nice to use in the future.

AshleyB

I have gotten some nail stickers through them with another company and I literally am wearing them now. I love them! I checked out the Mani Me and they have some cute options too so I am excited about that. It’s a nice gift. @ mani’s included in a box is a good option for me. 🙂

Reply ButtonReply

Pink5

From what I’ve seen, the stickers are custom cut to fit your nail, so you have to give them photos so they can cut the correct size.

I’m hoping more detailed instructions will come with the box.

Sharon

Really not impressed with my December box! Seriously considering cancelling, but I will wait a week to see if there are more spoilers. So far, I like this box better, but I need at least one more decent product to convince me to stay!

Reply ButtonReply

Meghan

I am here for the Saturday Skin. It’s a fantastic product. I don’t wear bullet style lipsticks, but if I did – it would be this shade. Maybe I can gift it. But the Mani is interesting to me, if I can pick out my own color and the gift card covers the order and free shipping, that would be great. It looks like the gift card is for $30 and the mani site is free shipping for orders $30+… I amliking how this box is shaping up. I think they’re realizing they have to do more to keep people subbing at $23/box. Luckily I subbed for the year at the previous amount. Or I wouldn’t have gotten these last few boxes. I would have canceled easily.
I will say though – I had gotten a gift subscription and called Allure to cancel it a few months ago. I was very specific about what I was cancelling. Then on Thanksgiving I found out they were still getting the subscription (it was for a family member). I never received emails of tracking or anything. And they don’t make it easy to cancel and see your account like Boxycharm or Ipsy. So, I am fighting with them on this. Since, I was charged for 2 sub boxes that I had canceled. I am so mad. Money has been tight and I can use that $50 for bills. It seems they’re trying to NOT refund me, even though I had called and cancelled. They’re probably not doing as good with their subs and trying to hoard as much as possible. But I am literally so mad and disappointed with their customer service and ethics because of this. Buyer beware.

Reply ButtonReply

SBR

I think, it all depends on the rep. I skipped 2x this year, and they charged me anyway (even sent the box). I had no issue getting a refund.

Reply ButtonReply

Lana

hm… idk about this one. The skincare is ok. The nail wraps are cool, but a pain to have to order separately, shady that they are just trying to get you to spend more money at that store. The lipstick is pretty, but I already have way too much

Reply ButtonReply

SBR

Agreed! If the nail code is one of the full size items then I may just skip. I might skip if it is one if the 6 items. I just can’t get past how much I don’t want the nail stickers🤣. I look for 2-3 items that I am excited to try. So far for January, it’s a maybe for the Saturday Skin.

Reply ButtonReply

Tania B

Well I am already excited for this box. I love Saturday Skin and am excited to try a new product by them I have not tried before, I like that we get to pick out our own nail stickers and that the set will be free with the gift card (I already checked out the site) and I like that the lippie for December ISNT A RED! I do not wear reds so I really am excited for this color. So far this box is great for the $14 I paid for it.

Reply ButtonReply

Sarah

I think a lot of subs need to cut back on lipstick. With everybody wearing masks, it just doesn’t make sense anymore.

Reply ButtonReply

Amy S

Ooo, I hope it’s really THAT color and doesn’t turn out to be a dark raisin or super-bright red which is what I somehow almost always get and cannot wear!

Reply ButtonReply

Kirsten

I just googled a swatch of it on different skin tones and it looks a little orange in the swatch I saw which makes me nervous.

Reply ButtonReply

SharonDK

Kirsten- I just went to TrueLuscious.com and looked at reviews of the lipstick. The one review that mentions Vintage Rose desctibes it as “a medium warm-toned pink with a hint of brown”. That’s not what the picture looks like. This box is feeling more and more like a skip to me.

Tanya

I like this box so far!

Reply ButtonReply

Nat

Liking that lippie color a lot. I still wear lipstick underneath my mask. I might actually get this box pending other spoilers. So far I don’t hate these spoilers

Reply ButtonReply

Michelle Whitehead

Same here. Some mornings I am too lazy for a anything but lipstick

Reply ButtonReply

Amy

Nat,
How do you keep the lipstick from smearing under your mask 😷 💄?

Reply ButtonReply

Nat

Yes, agree with what Rachel said. There are some smudging sometimes but I haven’t had a lot of issues. There are so many different masks out there. Just get one that’s not tight around mouth area

Rachel

Get a mask that allows you to ‘tent’ it around the mouth area. I have the Old Navy ones or any off Etsy really. Stay away from the flat ones or smooth ones without folds. I wear lipstick everyday at work and also have to wear a mask (I get to take it off behind the sneeze guard in my office) and I might have some slight smudging on the inside, but not that much.

There are other tricks like using powder over your lipstick to help it ‘set’, something my grandma used to do in the 40’s and 50’s.

Just saying I’ve been wearing lipstick since mask wearing became mandatory and haven’t had that many issues. What matters more is the style of mask you choose to wear.

Emma

Decent spoilers. Not enough to get me to resubscribe to Allure, but I’ll be checking sites in hopes I can pick up just the lipstick.

Reply ButtonReply

Melanie

I really like the spoilers so far. I haven’t been that impressed with the boxes since the price went up and I signed on to the annual subscription. I’m actually excited for this box. The lipstick looks beautiful, the nail product looks interesting something new I have never tried before I like we get to pick our design, and I’ve tried other Saturday Skin products and really like them.

Reply ButtonReply

Kristin

I still do full face every day and wfh, I like some normalcy in my life. So what no one sees, it makes me feel normal. Happy for a lipstick I may actually wear!

Reply ButtonReply

Snow

I can honestly say I’ve been wearing a full face of make up since I was a freshman in high school. Even hospital stays don’t sway me from wearing it. I honestly think people would feel better about themselves if they put a little effort in (simply lipstick and mascara can make such a huge difference!) It might sound a little vain, but to live our best, I think we should try to look our best.

Reply ButtonReply

Mountaineer95

Hey, this is a secondary thought I had after I posted my original comment to you, but it hasn’t cleared mods yet I think. This isn’t stated directly at you, but it follows your line of thinking (that doing a full face helps you to feel ‘normal’ these days), and is directed more towards MSA peeps:

Can we have a section of this site (or if not, do you know of a proper place) where we can post daily pics of our makeup we do? Like along the line of #underthemask (and if that’s a thing that already exists, I apologize and am not trying to steal the thunder!). What I mean is a place where we can share our makeup looks that we’ve done, and the products used to do it, even though we won’t be seen in actual public. I understand if this type of forum isn’t possible on MSA, but if it isn’t, is there somewhere else for this? I think that many of us would be inclined to use the fantastic beauty products we have, even if we can’t get out or be seen by many, if we have a collective place where we can share our looks.

Reply ButtonReply

Mallory @ MSA

Hi Mountaineer95! This is a great idea – if we created an Instagram and Twitter hashtag for readers to share their looks, we could re-share on our MSA social channels (#underthemask IG highlight, perhaps?). Let me know if that sounds intriguing – we’re open to hearing any other ideas as well!

Laura

I think makeup ally has “face of the day” and challenges. Love the makeup ally site.

HALLIE

Reddit has some nice make up groups. People will post elaborate professional looks and newbie looks asking for advice. I think your idea of a kind of make up challenge, would be a hit!

Mountaineer95

Kristin, I’d like to ask for your advice. I’ve not been doing a full face very often, and I’m not on Zoom meetings (am technically retired for medical reasons, mostly). But I have a ton of awesome beauty and skin products (like, a lot…really nice especially with complexion and color products) and I’d like some ideas about how I can use them daily. I don’t post tons of pics to social media, and some days I don’t leave the house (like everyone, but even before covid). But I don’t want these makeup products to go to waste. They include some nice eye palettes, blushers/highlighters, pretty much the things that a lot of you also have too much of right now. I’d like motivation to do a full face more often, (even if nobody but me and my fiancé will see it), and I think that a person like you, who does so on the daily, can give me ideas to motivate me to do so as well. Such as, a “daily challenge” on color parings, or stepping out of comfort zones, that kind of thing. Any advice? Thanks in advance!

I struggle sometimes to wear makeup too. I run a plumbing office and just see plumbers for maybe 15 minutes a day the rest of the time I am alone. I have some gorgeous makeup as well and I want to use it. I dyed my hair hair purple and now wearing makeup is waaaay more fun. Don’t know how the 2 corelate but there it is. All this to say shake up your look in a big way and see what happens. Worked for me. BTW I turned 60 in June and it has been hard on me. Dying my hair has helped a Lot!!

SBR

I have been full time WFH for the last 7 years. i still do my makeup everyday. I do it to partly to justify my spending but I feel so much more pulled together. Sometimes I put on a bold lip just because…. I also give some of my lip colors nicknames – couch lip, gym lip, walking the dog lip, cleaning out the pantry lip🤣.

Reply ButtonReply

Rachel

I love this! I read an article a few years ago that said we should still take care of ourselves and look good for ourselves (not for others) so if that red lippie makes you feel like a queen while folding laundry or on errands, go for it! On the weekends I generally let my face take a break, meaning no foundation or powder, but will still do my brows, mascara, maybe a single shade eyeshadow, and most likely a lipgloss or lip tint.

If I don’t, I kinda feel like a troll. Some days troll-days are fine but not for every weekend!

Amy

Wish we would just get full spoilers already, allure had been so good about early spoilers and I’m super on the fence based on these.

The lipstick I won’t use, A) I don’t know when I’ll be able to wear lipstick again B) I don’t do shiny/moisture formulas, they’re too much hassle. I need a lippie that will last all day even through lunch and dinner and anything shiny will slide right off

The ManiMe I’m intrigued by, it is just a gift card right? I’m a natural skeptic of anything claiming to last more than a few days but would be elated to be proven wrong

The peel gel I could take it or leave it.

I need at least one more useful to me item to make this box worth getting (I’m an annual so it’s only the $14 or whatever I already paid, I just want to know if I’m skipping or nah)

Reply ButtonReply

Carol

Pretty shade but I have several, unopened lipsticks that I can’t wait to use (eventually).

Reply ButtonReply

Alice

I really like the rose shade. Mask wearing has, of course, limited all of us from lip accents; however, when home sometimes I like to swipe on some just because…

Reply ButtonReply

Amy44

Alice, my natural lipsticks are more therapeutic than my lip balms. That’s my story, and I’m sticking to it!

Reply ButtonReply

Alice

I agree!

SharonDK

This looks like a good cool toned shade for me. I am more of a red/plum wearer but the reds that come in subscription boxes are usually too orange for me. The Sigma liquid lipstick that came in October’s Allure box was an exception- I love it! I need more spoilers before I decide to get this or not. I think the deadline is the last day of the previous month (12/31)- is that correct?

Reply ButtonReply

Sherri

I was told by a customer service rep that if we wanted to skip a month, we had to do so by the 3rd of the month we wanted to skip.

Reply ButtonReply

LeanGreenBean

Sharon, I believe you have until the 3rd of the month (i.e. if you want to skip January you have until January 3rd to call that in).
I’m also waiting on more spoilers since that scrub has not so great ingredients but the lipstick is so beautiful! The mani looks fun but I work so much with my hands I know I’ll just end up not using it until I finally forget it exists, lol

Reply ButtonReply

Meghan

That scrub is actually a favorite of mine. I bought one maybe 2 years ago and just finished it up recently. It works so well. I am very happy to see it here

SharonDK

LeanGreenBean- you are my favorite vegetable 🙂 Thanks for the info. I don’t think I will use that nail stuff and I already have two of those roll-off-your-face peel products- the Sonya Dakar from some box (FFF maybe?) and a mousse version I got from HSN because I had a coupon. I think they’re both BS- you’re rolling off balls of product, not dead skin IMO. Unless the remaining spoilers are overwhelming (in a good way), I may skip for the second month in a row.

Cat

I’m 100% OK with this, though I wish we would’ve received a full size lipstick months ago before everyone was wearing masks.

Reply ButtonReply

Stephanie

I’m super excited for this box, especially the ManiMe nail stickers. I found them a month ago on IG and they look promising! Lipstick looks beautiful but not my color, though I hardly ever see pink nudes in subs.

Reply ButtonReply

Amy

The lipstick isn’t bad, but when l’m out, l wear a mask.

Reply ButtonReply

Izzie

Same! And when I’m indoor, I put an incredible amount of lip balm (it’s dry here!)

Reply ButtonReply

Pink5

As always, I would have preferred a red lipstick, but rose is a lot easier if people aren’t wanting a bold lip.

The website emphasizes clean beauty with natural ingredients, so I’m curious to see how this lipstick will work in real life.

Reply ButtonReply

Denise Atkinson

Lol I know. I went there and was looking at the ingredients and there was a lot of long words in that “clean, natural” lipstick . Jeez

Reply ButtonReply

Kate

OK, so I know the new price is $23, but for those of us who locked in the old price of $13: can you believe how much nicer these are shaping up to be than the Ipsy glam bag, which is just a couple dollars less? I subbed for a year to Ipsy glam bag and got one bag for free for subscribing, so worked out to $11/bag. My subscription is ending in a few months and I am not reupping bc I subbed to this one during the promo where you could lock in the old price (I think it worked out to $13.75/bag) and I am so much more impressed with these for just $2.75 more.

Jillian W

Oh, that speaks to me!

Reply ButtonReply

Jennifer

I probably won’t be picking up Allure since the price hike, but the custom mani is interesting and that lipstick is a pretty shade.

Reply ButtonReply

Kim

I’ve been wanting a new lipstick but felt silly buying one since I hardly wear them anymore. But getting one in a box is perfect!

Reply ButtonReply
