October 2020 Petit Vour Plus Review

Each box comes with a card detailing the items included, and the prices of the full-size versions.

Let’s dive in!

Lauren B. Beauty Nail Growth Serum, 2.2 g – Full Size! Retail Value $75.00

My jaw dropped at the retail of this item. It seems really high! But as someone with really brittle nails, I am willing to try anything at this point. This formula is meant to be brushed onto bare nails and it has a clear color and a gel texture. Only time will tell if this helps my nails to be longer and stronger, but I am pretty pleased to be trying out an expensive product like this in my box this month.

Harvest Natural Beauty Lengthening Organic Mascara in ‘Black’, 7.5 mL – Full Size! Retail Value $18.00

I received this mascara in my August 2020 Petit Vour box. Here is that I thought:

Ok, I am about black mascara’ed out at this point. At least I have tons to give to friends? I will say that since everything went nuts this spring, I really haven’t been wearing mascara often and I have noticed my normal brands kind of annoy my eyes when I do wear them. I hope I haven’t become extra sensitive! I decided to push aside my mild annoyance at another black mascara and give this a shot. I was pleasantly surprised at how the formula and brush easily coated my lashes and my eyes were much less irritated by the end of the day. It also stayed put really well, though admittedly my office lifestyle isn’t super demanding on makeup these days. I will warn you that this is not a drama sort of mascara. Instead, it provides a nice volume and length boost without being super dramatic. Most days I am already dramatic enough anyways!

Shamanuti Seaweed Toner, 1 fl oz – Retail Value $10.00

First things first: this toner really needs a better nozzle. This thing is straight-up aggressive. I would recommend not trying to spritz this on your face. Just spray it into your hands and pat instead. Aside from the nozzle issue, I love this stuff. It has aloe, kelp, algae, willow bark, hyaluronic acid, and dead sea salt. It is very hydrating and refreshing and makes for a great step between your cleanse and your moisturizing!

Eir NYC Tough Love, 0.5 oz – Full Size! Retail Value $12.00

I received this in my August 2020 Petit Vour box. Here is that I thought:

I like to keep a beauty balm of some kind on my person at all times and this one is familiar to me. It has a great lavender and geranium scent and it is really rich because of all the shea and coconut oil inside. A word of warning: Don’t leave this in your car. My car smells great now, but wow was that a mess. Before I killed it with the sun, I enjoyed it on my cuticles the most, though it’s also great for elbows and dry knees. I do still have enough inside to use for a long time!

Kahina Giving Beauty Oil Cleanser, 11.mL – Estimated Value $6.49 (Buy a full size 100 mL for $59.00)

I received this in my August 2020 Petit Vour box. Here is that I thought:

Kahina Giving Beauty is one of my favorite brands. Their formulas are always super nourishing to my dry skin and smell like a pricy spa experience. This cleansing oil is delightful and my only complaint is that the sample isn’t bigger. I try to double cleanse most days and I like to start with an oil cleanser like this on my dry skin. I give my face a nice massage before rinsing with water. You can stop after this step, but I love to follow up with a cream cleanser. I will mention that if your skin is sensitive to essential oils, this is maybe something to try with a little caution. Totally unrelated to how this is meant to be used, but I also like to add a little of this to the ends of my hair if I am super frizzy.

BKind Sensitive Skin Face Scrub, 15 g – Travel Size! Retail Value $8.75 (buy a full size 48 g for $28.00)

I have tried this scrub before and I loved it then, and now. It is a great exfoliant for someone with sensitive skin. The exfoliating pieces are the tiniest bits of cranberry and hibiscus seed and they are gentle, yet effective. This formula also has nourishing oils of sweet almond, apricots, and hemp along with shea. Using this a few times a week will certainly improve your skin texture which means healthier skin and better makeup application!

Formulary 55 Sea Mineral Foot Soak, 1.5 oz – Retail Value $7.00

Our last item is a little sachet of foot soak. It contains dead sea salt, charcoal, ground-up rosemary leaves, as well as oils from peppermint and eucalyptus. As you can imagine, it is both soothing and invigorating, and the perfect treat for tired feet. I enjoyed soaking my feet in hot water while watching The Queen’s Gambit on Netflix, with a glass of wine. It’s a charmed life I lead.

Verdict: This month’s Petit Vour Plus box has a value of around $137.24 and while it did have three repeats, they were from the base Petit Vour box rather than the Plus. Although these boxes are both ordered under the same account, I am guessing repeats will happen like this between the base and Plus box. Either way, this wasn’t a bad assortment. All three of the repeats were items I enjoyed (and in the case of that Kahina oil cleanser, LOVED) so it’s not the end of the world to see them again. I thought there was a little something in here for everything: nails, body, face, and feet.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Your first box will likely be the November box. I recommend reaching out to Petit Vour to confirm! This box also has variants based on your beauty profile, so yours might be totally different than mine!

COUPON: Use code FIRSTBOX to save 25% off your first box!

Value Breakdown: At $25 for this box, here is what you are paying (approximately) per item:

  • Nail Grown Serum $13.66
  • Mascara $3.28
  • Toner $1.82
  • Cuticle Balm $2.19
  • Oil Cleanser $1.18

Queen’s Gambit! Two thumbs up!! 👍 👍

Wow, you got an excellent box! Mine was disappointing, with only 4 items: Toothpaste (supposedly $20 toothpaste?), Evio lip gloss, which is nice but I already have it, a sheet mask, and a very tiny tube of Goldfaden MD hand cream (20 ml). This used to be my favorite subscription box but maybe I need to take a break from it.

Oops, just noticed this review is for Petit Vour Plus. I think I will cancel my regular subscription and get this one instead!

The website says, “With Petit Vour Plus, you’ll receive 5-7 travel and full-size products (all fan favorites from our standard monthly beauty box)…” So folks can expect overlap between the two boxes since it’s built into the model.
