Goddess Provisions "Shadow Work" October 2020 Review

The box comes with a short but informative booklet that outlines all of the items inside and discloses the theme!

Zen Den Candles Amethyst Cluster Candle - Retail Value $21.00

This is my first time seeing a clustered gemstone candle, and I am really impressed! This is not an actual crystal, but a wax molded candle mixed with genuine A-grade crystals. This candle is in the style AMETHYST, and looks so close to the actual stone!

Once the wax begins to melt, it gives off this shimmery, magical glow on top. I've been looking for something to place this candle on while it burns. Any suggestions? This item included a 20% off coupon to use at Zen Den!

Cosmic Collage Balance Tote Bag- Retail Value $35.00

I love a good tote bag because they are so versatile and useful! From the grocery store to the library, I always have one on my arm. This is a beautiful tote. The image portrays the balance between light and dark, which works well with the Shadow Work theme. I used this tote to put my laptop and a book in when going for coffee and the items fit perfectly. Like all my totes, this will continue to come in handy. This item included a 25% off coupon at Cosmic Collage.

Goddess Provisions Shadow-Caster  - Listed Value $11.00

I feel like I'm experiencing a lot of firsts with this box, because this is also the first time I've used a shadow-caster! What a cool concept to light a tealight candle and have images come to life on your wall. This shadow caster is in the image of a lotus flower.

These images show the tealight lit in the light and in the dark. Of course in the dark, you see the lotus flower image. I also like the look of it lit in the light, too  It provides such a chill ambiance.

Antidote Coffee & Cardamom Chocolate- Retail Value $6.99

What an interesting chocolate bar and packaging! The back of the package states that Kakia is the Greek Goddess of Vice, therefore you should give in and indulge in this tasty vegan treat! This Antidote bar is comprised of 73% slow roasted cacao and has a strong and bold coffee taste! I'm not a big coffee drinker so the taste was a little strong for me, but my husband (who takes his coffee black), LOVED this bar. This chocolate bar comes with a 15% off coupon code at Antidote Chocolate.

NothingWild Lotus Protecteur Tattoo by Inkbox - Listed Value $16.00

I haven't used a temporary tattoo since I was in high school! I have 10 real tattoos now, but still think temporary is really cool to try out a design you're considering. I was really excited to try this lotus flower tat!

The tattoo came with a primer wipe, a booklet of instructions, and a link to video instructions. So you get a lot of direction!  I, of course only read the booklet.  The application was easy. Sadly, however, my tattoo was very faint on my skin.  I'm not sure if it's due to my complexion, or the spot where I placed it (wrist). I apologize as I am doing this review a week after I put the tattoo on and it has now faded. But I see a lot of designs I like on Inkbox's website, so I'm willing to give it another try! This item came with a 25% off coupon code at Inkbox.

Black Kyanite - Listed Value $4.00

And again, another item that I don't yet have! (This doesn't happen too often, so I am very excited.) Black Kyanite is a crystal that is known for its healing properties. The stone has some weight to it and is a little sharp around the edges, so be careful when handling.  The sharp "blades" are thought to open new paths and "cut" through blockages.  A nice addition to my crystal collection.

The Gold In Our Shadows *Digital Bonus* - Listed Value $33

The digital bonus for this month is a shadow work guide with Ganga Devi Braun. The link takes you to a website where you need to put in your name and email before accessing the guide.  I didn't mind too much as you can note whether or not you'd like to receive marketing emails. Once your information is added, you immediately have access to a PDF guide, printable worksheets, and even a Spotify playlist! I'm really excited to dive in and learn all about how to love my shadow!

The Verdict: This month's Goddess Provisions focused on shadow work which I've never really thought I'd be that interested in, but I was pleasantly surprised! The Goddess Provision Shadow Caster was my favorite item out of the box. I can't get enough of how a shadow image really appears on my wall! I would really like to try another tattoo by Inkbox, too. They have thousands of designs to choose from, and I'd like to see if I can get the ink to show more.  Will keep you updated!

This month, I received approximately $127 worth of items. For $33/month, Goddess Provisions consistently sends a valuable box each month.

I follow this box big time, but rarely pull the trigger. I love their themes but I’m not much of a “stuff” person. I did notice that GP seems to have a lot more of their own branded merchandise, which can be good or bad. I like when boxes source their products from various sellers/suppliers.

I have been pleasantly surprised and at times enthralled with this box since I’ve been a subscriber. However, this box from October and this month’s box are not my favorites. I’m happy you liked the shadow caster, but to me, it is cheap and not sturdy at all. Mine does not throw the light you mentioned. The tattoo is not impressive, and the stone was small. The chocolate and candle are interesting. In the November box, I received a brass chain of moon phases. Mine was very cheap and fell apart. Goddess Provisions has exceptional customer service. In my opinion, it’s the best in the business in terms of replacing items that are unsatisfactory. However, I don’t want it replaced because it is not of quality. Sorry that I’m not my usual positive self about this subscription box.

you should give it a shot….i got the November box and my moon phase deco is very high quality (and I’m picky af!). I actually like it a lot better than a similar one I saw at Urban Outfitters for 3-4x the price

It’s absolutely okay! I’ll be doing my November review soon, hoping my moon phase is intact.
