Ecocentric Mom October 2020 Review
Little Luminary Detangle Vegan Leave-In Conditioner, 4.5 oz – Estimated value $12.99
I can’t find this exact product on Little Luminary’s website, so estimated the value from other spray products of the same size. I love this spray! I always use some kind of detangler or leave-in conditioner. This spray did the job of detangling and it still felt light and did not weigh down my (fine) hair. I even used this for my daughter’s hair! She’s only 13 months old so her uber-fine, wispy baby hair is starting to grow a good bit and I used this after washing and I think it added some moisture and didn’t leave any grease or residue after it dried. Also, I’m very impressed with how fine the mist is when you spray it.
Another understated winner. This foot cream is a delight. First of all, I’m used to shea creams that are very thick, but this one is lotion-y and could be put in a squeeze bottle, maybe even a pump. It works well on my feet, but it also feels great on my elbows and dry, wintery hands. It’s very light and doesn’t leave my skin feeling greasy at all.
This is a pretty simple little fabric book, but my baby thinks it’s cool and seems to like carrying it around. It’s also been good for a recent car trip or two. The art is really cute and it shows various animals and describes them.
This is a super practical item! It’s a stainless steel fork and spoon that comes in a case to toss into a lunch box or insulated bag. My husband snagged these to take to work in lunches instead of using plasticware.
This toy is made with sustainably produced rubberwood and painted with water-based stains. Little hands can hold, pull, twist, and bend. This is a cute toy, but it’s not very open-ended for long term usefulness.
These bags are really nice, reusable bags to put your produce in at a market or grocery store. They are a large size! They measure 11″x17″ and they are made with organic cotton mesh.
Verdict: This month’s Ecocentric Mom was quite good! I’m happy with the new discoveries of the conditioner and the shea cream especially. The retail value of this box reaches $45.53 which is low for what I have come to expect from this sub, and I’ve seen the value decline in the last 2-3 boxes, so I hope to see it go back to being higher by the next box. That being said, though, I’m satisfied because I know we’ll be using all the items and getting the full value out of them.
