Culture Carton Review October 2020

Culture Carton arrived with an info card that lists the items in the box this month.

The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle - Listed Value $17.00 (on sale here for $11.99 )

My husband has always been a big fan of The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes. He will often talk about sitting and reading this book on quiet afternoons when he worked at The Andy Warhol Museum. He loves watching the movies and we both were obsessed with the Benedict Cumberbatch TV series. We even went to a Sherlock Holmes museum when we were in London many moons ago. As we settle into a long winter, I am hoping he will take some time for himself to revisit this book that he loves so much. This book is so lovely and I was really excited to see him take a turn through these pages that he knows so well!

Kiko Sunglass Holder - Retail Value $35.00

This case is amazing! My husband is constantly misplacing his sunglasses or they get scratched, dropped, or taken by our 2-year-old who can do major damage to them. This holder is going to help keep track of his sunglasses and keep them safe from our kiddos. It has a button closure to keep everything safe inside and is made of genuine leather. This is something that my husband would never invest in for himself, especially if his glasses didn't come with their own case, but it is really going to help keep him organized and take care of his sunglasses that he loves so much.

Active Skin Repair Hand and Face Hydrogel - Retail Value $29.99

This is a really interesting product and one that I really enjoyed researching! Each bottle is a medical-grade solution and is made in an ISO certified clean room in California. It is made to help support the body’s natural healing process for minor cuts, scrapes, rashes, chafing, burns, and other forms of skin damage. The spray does not use toxic chemicals, synthetic antibiotics or petroleum, and is biodegradable so it is safe to use all over your body. My husband and I were just talking about how we needed to get something in a spray form to use on cuts and scrapes, which we get a lot of around our house. This is going to be perfect to have on hand for us and our kids.

Paromi Royal Breakfast Organic Tea - Listed Value $10.00

The day this month's box arrived was the day that my husband declared he was going to stop drinking coffee and only drink tea. So he was really excited to see this lovely tea container. This is a full-leaf black tea with a full-bodied blend that is caffeinated. It has a sweet flavor to it that works well on its own, with honey, sugar, or milk. My husband has been using this to drink in the morning and is almost through this container. I might just have to get him a new one as a stocking stuffer!

The Verdict: Culture Carton was so on point for my husband this month! He has always been a big Sherlock Holmes fan so he was very excited to receive this beautiful copy. We went to the Sherlock Holmes museum the day after we got engaged in London so I think the cover alone made us both smile, thinking back to that day. I really hope he takes some time for himself this winter to reread it! The sunglasses case was another hit, which I was sort of surprised about. He loved the quality, the leather is so rich, and the inside is super soft. The tea came at just the right time and is the perfect morning pick-me-up for him. He said he loves that he can dress it up or keep it simple while still getting the bold and sweet flavors of the tea itself. The spray was very interesting. We both weren't super sure what it was at first, but after a good amount of research of the product and brand, we both knew it was going to be something we would use a ton. Our kids fall a lot, which means lots of scrapes to clean. This spray is super easy to use and there is no sting which we all love. I wasn't able to find all of the item's retail values, but the estimated value of this box is around $92 which is pretty amazing for the $53.27 cost. This is a small box that really packs a big punch when it comes to curation and quality. You always get that wow factor month after month, this month it was the sunglasses case and the book. For me, I love seeing my husband discover new brands and receive products that he would never buy for himself.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, you'll receive the November box as your first box.

Orders placed before the 15th of the month will be shipped on 15th-17th of the month. All orders placed after the 15th will ship the following month.

Why no sunglasses?

This was just the case. Totally a preference, but I know my husband is super picky about his sunglasses. So I think for him he was excited to have a new case for his many glasses that either didn’t come with a case or that he has lost over the years. He actually has a vintage pair that belonged to his Dad that he put in this case, so it worked perfectly for him!

I know it couldn’t have been that hard to through in some sunglasses with the case come on! Especially at the 45$ cost
