BomiBox K-Beauty Subscription September 2020 Review

BomiBox has detailed info cards for each month’s box on their website. The info card describes all the items included in the box and instructions on how to use them. This is great since a lot of the products have instructions that are not in English.

Tiam Vita B3 Source Serum, 40 ml - Retail Value $20.00

This serum features 10% niacinamide and 2% arbutus to fight hyperpigmentation and discoloration. The formula also contains allantoin and Hyaluronic Acid, so it is like a multi-purpose cocktail for your skin that can address various concerns. Even though this is potent I didn’t experience any sensitivity, and I am hopeful that this can help fade some dark spots left from acne.

Pramy Background Moisture Makeup Spray, 100ml - Retail Value $7.90

I have barely been wearing any makeup these past few months – I consider my morning routine done once my sunscreen is applied. That being said, I do miss it! One of the reasons I haven’t been wearing makeup is due to my mask smudging foundation and powders, so I’m curious about the promise that this setting spray will set your makeup for 12 hours while adding a boost of hydration thanks fo the hyaluronic acid and ceramides. According to Bomibox, one bottle of this is sold every ten seconds in South Korea. I tried it out over a tinted sunscreen I had applied setting powder on top of, and I appreciated the fine mist of the spray. Once I had to wear a mask my base wasn’t infallible, but I do think this helped to minimize smudging.

COSRX Low pH Good Morning Gel Cleanser, 5.07 oz - Retail Value $12.00

This cleanser has almost a cult-following in K-Beauty because of how gentle, effective, and affordable it is. When this ph-balanced cleanser is so effective at cleansing thanks to ingredients like tea tree oil, evening primrose, and Saccharomyces for under $15, it’s hard to justify spending double on other cleansers out there. If you have sensitive or dry skin I think you’ll especially love this cleanser, but I don’t think anyone will really dislike it because of how simple and gentle it is.

Neogen Happy Skin Kit - Retail Value $9.90

I was seriously so excited to see this kit in this box – the same set was being offered as a GWP when I was browsing for potential K-Beauty products, so seeing it a few days later here felt a bit serendipitous. This features minis of some cult Neogen products like their gauze peeling pads and micro essence, and it also came with a sheet of STICKERS. This is a great introduction to the brand if you’re not a Neogen fan, or if you’ve tried the products before and liked them (like I have) then you can stock up on having good travel-sized favorites.

Benton Snail Bee Ultimate Serum, 0.27 oz - Estimated Value $6.17 (buy the 1.18 oz version for $27)

I actually have gone through a full-size of this serum before, so seeing this small baby tickles me – it is just so cute! The serum features fermented snail secretion filtrate along with bee venom, tea tree, and green tea. Even though my skin can be sensitive I have had no problems with this serum, and the product lives up to its claims of being a boost to your complexion. The texture of the serum is slightly sticky, but that is solved by following up with a moisturizer.

It's Skin Collagen Nutrition Toner - Buy the 150 ml version for $18.00

This toner features collagen and amino acids, however, this tiny sample won't really give your skin any results other than added hydration on the days you use it. This did layer well with other toners and serums, but I used this sample up quickly.

A'Pieu Milk One Pack Banana Milk Mask - Retail Value $2.00

I am not a stranger to the milk masks from A’pieu, so seeing this in the box was like seeing a friendly face. It does have a fragrance – though to me, it smells exactly like banana candy and I dig it. Your mileage may vary on if you enjoy the scent, but I have found all variations of these masks to be nourishing and calming to my skin.

SKINrx LAB Madecera Express Mask - Estimated Value $4.40 (buy a pack of 5 for $22.00)

This isn’t a new mask to me, but it is one I am happy to have back in my stash. The sheet mask features madecassoside (a derivative of Centella Asiatica) and ceramides, so dry and sensitive skin should enjoy this as much as I do. If you’re not a fan of sheet masks, the brand also makes a moisturizer featuring the same nourishing ingredients, too.

The Verdict: This was another really good box from Bomibox. Even though the Neogen set is on the smaller end, value-wise, I am tickled pink to have received it when I came so close to making a purchase just to get it as a gift with purchase. The appearance of the Cosrx cleanser and Skinrx mask rounded out this box in terms of well-known k-beauty products, but I enjoyed everything that I received. Value-wise, everything in this box except the It's Skin toner adds up to $62.37.

To Wrap Up:

Can you get this box if you sign up today? Previous boxes are sometimes available in the BomiBox shop here. Order by the 15th to receive the current month's box. If you order today, your first regular box should be the November box.

Value Breakdown: At $39 for this box, you're paying approximately $4.87 per item.

Great review! Those serums look good 🙂

I’ve been eyeing Bomibox for a while, but I’m not sure if it will be worth it in terms of value for a Canadian? Exchange rate + shipping… Anyone know?
