SprezzaBox "The Professor" October 2020 Review

Each month SprezzaBox allows subscribers to choose their box from several different options. You will receive an email prompting you to select your box and then you'll be taken to a page with photos and information about each of the boxes. This is a great way to ensure you get exactly what you want or need and if you forget to pick your box, don't worry because they will simply have a stylist choose one for you! Since some collections are made of previous inventory, you will occasionally have a few products overlap, but usually, this is a sample item.

We received a few gift cards/coupons this month.

Just a note: Carlos will be taking over the Sprezzabox reviews starting next month, but in the meantime, because my husband is such a good sport, he has graciously agreed to share his thoughts on this box in his own words. The product descriptions and the verdict were all written by him. Enjoy! 🙂

Blue Windowpane Sprezza Tie - Estimated Value $16.00 (based on this similar tie)

This tie strikes a good balance between formal and business casual as it would pair nicely with navy slacks or khakis and could be matched up with a variety of lighter colored shirts.  The gold stripe is a nice accent and it also has a textured finish that makes this a bit different from most of the other ties in my collection.

Here you can see that it looks sharp with a lighter, patterned shirt.

Blue with Multi-Colored Dot Bespoke Socks

These socks are a blend of 67% cotton, 23% polyester, 7% nylon, 2% spandex, and 1% rubber. I thought these were comfortable, fun socks that paired up well with the tie and provide plenty of other opportunities to be worn with some of my other shirt & tie combinations that incorporate various shades of blue.

Here they are on. These are my feet.

Silver Indochino Tie Clip - Retail Value $20.00

I really like the diagonal pattern on this tie clip as it gives it a unique appearance, although I do think that a gold tie clip would have been a nice addition to tie things together with the accents in the neckwear (no pun intended) and socks.

Ballpoint Classic Pen - Retail Value $10.00

Although I find myself using pen & paper less and less, I always like having a quality writing utensil on hand as I seem to go through cheap, plastic pens quickly. This pen seems to be very well made, made largely of metal (which gives it a nice weight) and is one I will definitely be adding to my work bag as a go-to.

Masonman Triple Threat 3-in-1, 1.69 oz. - Estimated Value $1.05 (Buy a full size 33.81 oz bottle for $21.00)

This is a 3-in-1 body wash, shampoo, and conditioner combination that includes Argan Oil (which my wife tells me is good) and Vitamin E. Although I haven't yet had a chance to use this, I will certainly be throwing it in my travel bag for my next business trip as it appeals to my minimalist packing preferences.

Verdict: This month's SprezzaBox provided a collection of versatile, cohesive pieces that will also work well with a lot of my current wardrobe. The tie & sock combination was definitely one of my favorites in recent boxes. The tie clip will make a nice addition to my collection, although I likely won't wear it with this specific tie, and you can never have too many nice, durable pens (especially in a house with kids who like to gnaw on them, and a wife who likes to "borrow" them). For $30, including shipping, this box seems to be a solid deal.

Last note from Brandi: I was only able to get the retail values for a few of the items, but the pen and the tie clip alone are worth $30.00 which is the same as the cost ($28.00 + $2.00 shipping) of this box. Hope you enjoyed our collaboration! 🙂

To Wrap Up:

Can I still get this box if I sign up today? No, you would likely receive the November box, although it's possible that this could be a future Pick Your Own Box option!

ACTIVE DEAL: Save $10 on your first box!
CODE: MSA10OFF

Value Breakdown: This box costs $30.00 ($28.00 +$2.00 shipping) which means that each of the 5 items in the box has an average cost of $6.00.

While I have been reviewing boxes since 2018 and I love the luxury of trying new products, I'm also balancing it out by dabbling in a little bit of homesteading, too. We now have 4 chickens and a rabbit and my sourdough starter is going strong! I love learning about new brands and sharing the great things I find with others in hopes that they find something new to love or to fit their needs!

My son chose this box and he was really happy with it. His dress socks tend to double as every day socks and he wears through them pretty fast, I’m glad these seem like a good thickness and soft! The tie is good quality too. The clip is pretty tiny and we haven’t used the pen yet. A worthwhile box for sure though.

Haha, Starla took the words out of my mouth. Great job Brandi’s husband. I,too, agree on the gold clip as a better choice. I think this sub would make a really nice, inexpensive gift for someone. I also like the part of the review where Brandi’s husband says about the socks “Here they are on” “These are my feet”😜.

Well done husband of Brandi! Nice review. I agree a gold tie clip would have fit better with the tie. Would have made the gold in it pop nicely.
