Comments (253)

  1. The only thing I’m excited about is the blanket. I love the one from last winters box. But nothing really else is very exciting for this winter box

  2. The FFF picks tend to junk up the box, it’s a huge turn off. Decided to cancel when I found a cupboard full of categories 4-7 from previous boxes.

    • I honestly don’t care for the RV. I’d rather have a $5 item I am going to use or I can easily gift than items I don’t need, I won’t use, and I cannot gift. I honestly would have been happier with a simple cloth mask and hand lotion. No wow effect, but no clutter. And both can be gifted easily, if somebody doesn’t want them.

      • I couldn’t agree more!
I can’t handle any more black eyeliners.
I was so excited for this till the junk categories appeared.

  3. I’m excited! I enjoy the fall box, which was my first after taking a few years off, but I wasn’t overly excited for it. This box is so wintery! I am going to go broke with everything I want to add, but I’m excited. I’m going to spoil myself a little bit. I was sick over the summer and am still recovering so I am going to say I deserve these cozy, cuddly self-care items!
That’s the excuse I’m going to use for the Sephora sale though, too. At some point, my husband is going to start seeing through that excuse;)

  4. I guess I’m in the minority, but I’m on board for everything pictured except the dry brush (for your face?! Wth!) and the cutting boards (which are so cheaply made you can see them warping in the picture MSA took). Happy with everything else.

As it’s been a while since I signed up for a FFF box, I forget: am I charged as soon as I sub, or on the billing date for seasonals (Nov 16). TIA!

    • You will be charged when you sign up.

I think those cutting boards are flexible so that’s why they may looked warped. I’m not sure of that’s what you’re noticing in the picture. They’re paper thin, and I think can even roll up.

I’m skeptical about the facial brush also! It sounds awful!

      • Yeah, I’m almost entirely sure that the boards are intentionally the flexible thin plastic kind! An old roommate of mine had some and honestly they were shockingly useful. Having a few colors makes it easier to designate meat/veggie/etc boards, they still provide plenty of protection, and they’re SO easy to wash and store. Maybe not something you’d want to put out on display, but a solidly practical thing to own!

…that said, I can’t make a similar case for a facial dry brush haha. Like, I kinda want it…but isn’t it basically a sure path to overexfoliating?

      • Thanks for the perspective on the cutting boards! Honestly, I’m sure they would get used, I just find the other items in that categories more exciting, you know?

    • I am also afraid of the brush, it just seems like it would hurt lol
But if I do get it I’ll probably just wash my sinks with it looks like it might be small enough for it to fit in my sinks
Ever since switching from a Clarisonic to a PMD I wonder how I did for so many years with a Clarisonic the PMD want is amazing

  5. I for one think this is the strongest box FFF has had in a VERY long time. I love almost everything here. And I’d actually choose the red croc wallet thingy! I have so many super slim purses that can’t fit a full-size wallet and I just need a card carrying case and this is it! Different strokes for different folks people!

    • Yeah, I don’t know what everyone’s issue with the croc wallet is. It looks nice to me, and I need a card wallet. 🤷‍♀️

      • I personally just think it’s weird to have such potentially hit-or-miss items in a category subscribers don’t get a say over! Red crocodile print and the leopard print on the scrunchies are going to be the best thing ever for some people, but hideous and awful to others. They’re both just polarizing prints!

      • Haha, I also love the leopard scrunchies! I am all in on gaudy accessories it seems.

  6. Why so many skin care & beauty products from unknown or cheaper brands? When did it turn into a beauty box?

    • Yes !!! I was thinking the same thing. These are sketchy filler items I’ve seen in Ipsy and Boxycharm

  7. This is the worst box I have seen since I started the sub a few years ago. I like the Vera Bradley case, but there’s not much value there; the blanket looks nice. I love the mugs, but after those the rest of this box is fairly useless. I have enough eye shadow palettes to last the rest of my life, and my sensitive skin can’t handle Dr. Brandt. Category 5 is a complete dud as are the FFF picks. I loved the fall box, but this one is soooo disappointing.

  8. I want everything in customization 2, but nothing from the others :/

  9. Hopefully FFF reads comments because I would like the option to pay less for less items. Like give me $10 off or $10 edit sale credit and don’t give me FFF picks.
Its true it feels wasteful when I dont value items at all and get stuck with them. Looking at you red croc wallet 😐

    • yeah that red croc wallet is HORRID

    • LOL!! That red croc wallet is hideous… I would be embarrassed to even regift it 🙈

      • White Elephant Gift Exchange?? LOL

    • Wow! That’s a good idea.
Oh yeah for sure that red wallet, I’m like who can gift to or will I use it??

    • I feel like the croc wallet is a good “car item”. You could stick those store specific shopper loyalty cards in it and leave it in the car armrest for a quick grab and go whenever you enter a store. That way you don’t over stuff your wallet with cards you use so infrequently. Or stick a bunch of blank business cards in it (amazon sells them in a rainbow of colors) and leave it in your glove compartment…then you’ll never struggle to find a piece of paper if you need to write a quick note on the go. But I agree, I’m super picky about the wallets I carry for my everyday stuff and this doesn’t cut it.

I’d definitely rather have this over the eyeliner though. Or over the blemish stickers. But I think I aged out of those stickers…if I were younger I’d probably think they were fun.

      • Wow!!!! What an amazing idea to put all those store cards in it.
If I get it now I know what to do with it.
Yeah…I don’t like it when it’s up for FFF to decide what type of makeup item they should send to us. Many don’t wear makeup, we all different skin tones and colors so it won’t work for everyone

I know what you mean about the stickers, good thing I have a brother who is a teenager although he takes really good care of his skin I’ve never seen acne on his face! Wish that was me when I was a teen lol

  10. Does anyone know the date to sign up so that I will receive this box? Thanks!

  11. So disappointed with these selections, I do like the mugs though.

  12. Fingers crossed someone can answer this. Is there anyone here who’s received the Unhide blanket in the previous box and has also purchased one from the company? I’m wondering if they are the exact same or if the one for FFF is made a bit differently (meaning manufactured cheaply since it’s for a sub). Thanks!

    • I have not purchased from Unhide directly but I did get the Unhide in the box. It is plush and luxurious and certainly not cheaply made. I’m getting another because my daughters fight over the one we have!

    • I think it might be smaller? I haven’t purchased it, but the one from FFF last year is great quality like Jean said. Not sure if this is a selling point, but sometimes my cat will lay on it while grooming herself, and then start licking the blanket. Like she doesn’t even realize it’s not her fur lol

    • Yes I have three in total, two from fff sub boxes and one from unhides website. They are the same. Keep in mind you will be getting the lil marsh and NOT the $165 marshmallow which is much more plush.

    • I am not sure if the fff blanket is the same as the one offered on company’s website but i was nicely surprised with its quality. At least for the blanket i got in fff box last year.

    • Anna- thanks, it’s good to know it’s the same.

Thank you ladies for all your replies, I appreciate it greatly 🙂

    • I received one as did my daughter and they were awful. Both shed horribly we washed them to see if that would help but is was worse. Both went in the garbage

  13. Wow, I was so excited about the first three things (more so the first two), but the rest of the box looks so bad. Choice 7 is awful. Choice 6 includes a product I’m allergic to.

    • My thoughts exactly!

  14. I feel so elderly, but I think it’s the category with the socks that’s gonna get me! I could SO use some workout socks, and the MukLuks look so great too…

I might be in the minority, but I like the selection for everything but customization 6! Not gonna pretend the variety in the FFF picks isn’t super weird to me (wouldn’t it make more sense to have, like, one lifestyle, one skincare, and one makeup FFF pick category?) but ultimately the Whish is the only thing I would be truly bummed to receive.

Has anyone tried the Dr. Brandt cleanser?

    • Hey!
I totally understand about the socks lol

I have tried the cleanser, it wasn’t anything special but if you are sensitive to smells then be warned it smelled like a pool like chlorine/bleach water
Usually I don’t mind smells but it was just so strong that I couldn’t do it and threw it away after about two weeks

It didn’t cause me to break out or anything, my face felt cleaned not overly drying

    • Beth, I have the Dr. Brandt cleanser. I’ve only been using it for a couple of weeks but it’s nice.

    • The Pore Dermabrasion is one of my favorites. It feels a little harsh at first, but you truly feel exfoliated and so clean after due to the fine particles. It definitely does not have a frilly smell, more chemical like, but the smell does not last once it is rinsed off. The pore cleanser isn’t bad either.

    • Also Beth I use the Dr Brandt cleanser nightly with my Pmd I got from Causebox. It has significantly inproved my acne. I personally love it!

  15. I am thinking about subscribing again for FFF. It has been years since I have subscribed to them would I be eligible for the $10 off for the first box offer? I have seen people post that they will wait to re-subscribe again and wait for the $10 offer but I was under the impression that you would have to be completely new to FFF to get the $10 off.

    • You just need to use a different email address.

      • Thank you!

    • I’m not sure how that works, but I have emailed customer service and hopefully will receive a response soon. I’m new here and wanted to let you know I have 5 starter boxes. If anyone wants them let me know. I don’t want them to go to waste.

      • I would love a starter box!

  16. I think it is a shame that there are two Dr. Brandt options in one category, as that company is not cruelty-free. Also a shame to support a company called Muk Luk that is not native-owned. Mukluks are a traditional winter boot made by Indigenous peoples.

    • So people are not allowed to use a word in another language? I’m Israeli. According to you, I shouldn’t own a company with a French word in the name. What about the company Omaha Steaks? The word “omaha” is from a Native American language. Are you boycotting any restaurant that serves sockeye salmon? “Sockeye” is a Native American word that means “yellow fish.” Are you boycotting Amazon? That’s not an English name either.

      • Mike 🎤 Drop. Tastefully Said. Yes can we please get over the petty petty nonsense. It’s just a pair of socks. Chill.

      • The voice of reason, thank you

      • Well said, I agree Jen.

    • And this is why there is no world peace !

  17. The first 3 customizations are great but the rest are really bad and have nothing to do with a winter theme. I was hoping for a candle, diffuser or more home decor but it is really makeup and skincare heavy and the brands are nothing special.

  18. I’m excited about the choices in category 1,2 & 4.

Not thrilled with category 3 – pretty lackluster. Boxy and Ipsy have already sent out the PoreDermabrasion and cleanser. Boxy was offering the cleanser this month in add ons for 6.00. The mascara and Laura Geller eyeshadow are boring. The headband is not my style and similar headbands can be picked up for 5.00. These knotted headbands are really not on trend anymore.

The 5th category is pretty generic and boring as well. The cutting mats are cheap, cheap, cheap along with the card wallet.

The Fabfitfun picks are disappointing. The Phase Zero blush is proportional in quality to Wet n Wild.

I wish they would spread the more desired throughout all the categories so you could get what you want, not have to spend extra money on additional picks and/or wind up stuck with junk you won’t use.

    • Yeah even the winter box last year the FFF picks were great, l noticed they declined drastically this year. I will probably not cancel but there’s no way l am renewing my annual. Time to move on. I will sub to Curateur or whatever it’s called now. Sad all good things come to an end, FFF has just grown too rapidly.

    • The cutting mats I can get on a wholesale Chinese website for less than a couple of dollars. The vanity mirror I can buy for $10. I sell my own skin care products so that’s a pass. Wish I could get more than 2 tea cups. Then The Who knows how they pick those last 2 categories for us. Let’s us have a choice

  19. I’m excited about this box! Not thrilled with all the FFF picks but that’s par for the course. Looking forward to customizing to make this a super awesome wintry box!

  20. Love cust. 1 & 2 and I’m OK with the FFF picks and can find multiple items in 4 & 5 but could they not get a better color for the MukLuk cabin socks? Love the brand, but that color is….ugh!

    • I agree. The sock color is hideous. I will probably choose that, but pretty much any other color would’ve been better.

  21. As an annual subscriber, I’m reasonably happy with the choice items. As for the fff picks, there is only one in each category that I like/would use. The others I would throw out and wouldn’t even consider gifting. Overall it will be ok but it sucks to potentially get 2 items that are completely useless to you.

    • Agreed. Not too keen on the FFF picks

  22. You had me at Unhide… then list me. No longer interested in resubbing for the next year. Not that these things aren’t great I just don’t need any more skincare/makeup/hair stuff.

  23. When should i sign up for the winter box? I tried just now and it showed a different box that i do not want.

  24. Has anyone tried the Tula balm??

I always see ads and “influencers” promoting it on Instagram lol
I have been tempted so many times to buy it!!

    • Yes. I like the cooling in the summer. It’s decently highdrating. If you overdo application it will leave a light cast.

      • Oh that would be so nice, I get up at 5 am to be at work and my eyes always feel so tired.

Thank you ladies for the info 🙂

      • You’re welcome!

    • Yes, Ipsy sent it out a while back. I thought it was okay but nothing life changing. Personally I wouldn’t buy this at full price. I do like the Tula glow spf Moisturizer.

  25. I want pretty much everything from 1, 2, 4 &5! Going to be tough to choose. Super excited for another faux fur blanket from them and I always love their high-quality skincare options.

  26. I’m really loving a lot of these options! My annual sub is scheduled to renew with the winter box. I was planning on cancelling and skipping a couple boxes before resubscribing, but these spoilers convinced me to stay. I’m really excited about the comfy robe, I need a new one and everything that looks good is almost the price of an FFF box anyway. I like the mugs, headband, dr Brandt products, hair mask, and some options FFF chooses. I’m happy overall, but I’m not incredibly hard to please. If I’ll like and use the items, it’s a great deal.

    • Amanda you should cancel your account and then reactivate so you can use the free $200 mystery bundle code. I just reactivated with the code through live chat

      • Pungalunga, That’s a good idea! I may do that. Did you have to use a different email address? And is it starting you with the winter box? I would hate to have a new sub start with the fall/welcome box or whatever, I already got that one. Thanks!

      • I used the same email I have been using with FFF for 5 years. In the past year they seem to be having sign up bonuses to get members to come back which I was banking on. I canceled my annual account right after I received my fall box. My account says my subscription starts with the winter box. Best thing to do is cancel now so your account doesn’t auto renew and then you can reactivate through their live chat and take advantage of the free mystery bundle. Just make sure you copy the code for the free mystery bundle MSA had provided cause they will ask for it. You’ll also be billed right away.

  27. I’ve never subscribed to this box, and I get that it’s not a luxe box, but I think it would be better if they cut the number of items in each box from 8 to 5 and then had higher quality items for the first 5 choices. Everything from choice 6 and on is just junk, I would be embarrassed to give them to a teen as stocking stuffers, TBH. Sometimes less is more, but that’s clearly not FFF business model. Sustainability matters to me, though, and I wouldn’t buy a box with things that I know are going straight in the trash.

    • I would love to know what lux boxes you subscribe to 😍

      • Rachel Zoe/Curateur, although, it’s gone downhill, IMO. I haven’t gotten a single box in 2020, and only got Spring and Summer in 2019. I loved the PSMH LE box items too when they were still offered, especially the Winter ones, but they’re not doing any PSMH boxes anymore. I was tempted by Luxor on a few occasions but they had such notorious customer care issues that it scared me off, and they went out of business too. I managed to get a few items from swaps. The sub box business is clearly tough, numbers-wise. The ones that have survived either have self-branded items produced with cheaper materials, like Zoe, or a bunch of TJ Maxx checkout lane filler, like FFF. Or then there’s Causebox, which tries to be sustainable at least, but which always has long shipping delays due to their vendors. But if I had to choose between a FFF annual or Causebox, I would pick Causebox, even with the delays.

    • Yeah, I agree – some of the items are nice – the blanket, the robe if you like it, etc. But my overall sense, when I scroll down the list of things, is that his is just a bunch of junky stuff I don’t need. The thought of opening a box full of this stuff – well, no. More is not more.

      • I agree. The best items are in the first 2 categories in my opinion. 3 and down it progressively gets worse. You’re right about sustainability issues with regard to this.

    • I agree. I would rather have five fabulous items.

  28. So is this winter box available now?

    • No not yet

    • Yes 🙂 I signed up for today since it only had Winter on the welcome page.

  29. I am happy with the customization options 4 and 5. I was worried as I don’t really like anything in 2 & 3 but did manage to make choices.
For the first time I will be fine with any of the last three picks that FFF will choose but at always I am sure I will be given the least expensive ones.

  30. wow, what a let down. Should of saved the best for last. Time to skip.

  31. Excited for this box! Now for the Causebox full spoilers on the welcome box!!

  32. I might be alone on this, but I think the FFF picks are awful! This is the first time I have ever thought that. I’m excited about the first 3 categories, though…too many things that I want!

    • They’re ridiculously awful and knowing fff most of us will get the worst of the worst from those. I’m pretty happy (compared to the last few months especially) with the first few categories (mostly 1-3 ). But the fff ones are are awful :/ less is more in this situation. Wish they would push the value onto the main products and ditch these dollar store junk items.

      • I’m glad to see some people on here are excited about the FFF picks but no, you are not alone, to me they are all terrible as well.

  33. Options 1 and 2 blew my socks off and then it all went downhill, I don’t know…might not renew my annual

    • My exact thoughts. I was waiting for spoilers before Winter renewal. That might not happen.

    • Similar. I like 1-3 and multiple things for 1 and 3, but I wouldn’t want the rest of the items.

  34. Well at least there are items in category 1 and category 2 that I am very excited about. I don’t want anything from any other category, nor the fab fit fun picks.

  35. May be fff’s best box ever!!

  36. I may be in the minority here, but I am actually pleasantly surprised by the choices in level 4 and 5. I am annual and will definitely be able to select something I like here (and might even add on, which is uncommon for me at this level). For the FFF choice options, there are definitely some items that I would prefer not to receive (and if history repeats itself, I will receive these items) but that’s ok, there’s nothing “bad” that I wouldn’t be able to do something with – for example I always need a good sleep/workout scrunchie and if the face brushes are too rough I can use them for cleaning!

  37. I would be ok with anything listed above until the blemish patched excluded. Then it’s a bunch of stuff that I don’t have space for and I don’t know whom I could gift to (my human interactions outside my household are extremely limited and shelters here have strict regulations on what to accept). Also, this is very personal and probably it’s just me, but I dislike animal prints very much.

  38. MSA, this jumped from 5 to 7 tier. Where is 6? Also, the mugs are listed in two tiers.

    • I see 6. My apology. Mugs are listed twice, though.

  39. Does anyone know how much it is to add on items from the first choice?

    • In the past add ons from tier 1 have been $15!

    • It’s usually $15 per Additional item in the first and second category, then $10 in the others but I think I’ve seen $7 a couple times for additional choice items in some of the categories with lower retail value.

  40. Wow I’m in pressed but sadly I don’t want to throw down 200 to get to pick all items I want. … Ohhh boy what to do?? What to dooo?

    • Same, especially because the recent boxes weren’t appealing to me and I’d like more a “skip a box” system that allows me to get 4 boxes, not 3 boxes and a store credit.

      • i was considering an annual sub til i saw this comment… what??? can you explain?
do you only get one skip? or do they turn each skip into a credit?
i think thats a crappy policy designed to discourage people from skipping unpopular boxes. i would totally get an annual sub if it guaranteed me four boxes of my choice.

      • @jenn I don’t want to deter anybody from signing up with them! 🙂 unless they changed their policy, it is possible to skip one box and they give you a credit to spend during their their adds on sale. My last box was winter 2019, I don’t know if things have changed regarding the number of boxes one can skip. I personally don’t want the store credit, since it defeats the purpose of having a subscription box for me, but at the same time I had no interest in any of the boxes they had in 2020 and I would have disliked to be stuck with them. Seasonal subscription it is (for me).

  41. I signed back up for seasonal. I really enjoy the Winter boxes. That said, I’m not too optimistic of getting the choices I want so 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻. I just can’t justify the full amount for an annual right now.

  42. Pretty meh box. I only need so much facial stuff in one box.

  43. This looks like a pretty great box. Not sure about my category 1 and 2 picks yet, but I’m going to get the headband, the Tula eye balm and the dry shampoo for categories 3-5. I was thinking about getting a second annual subscription, but I would have been a lot likelier to do it if the FFF picks were a bit more exciting. I don’t know. My annual renews in Spring, so this would spread them out nicely.

  44. FFF must be desperate for subscribers if they are spoiling the whole box already. I am easily going to pass.

  45. The items for the first choices are awesome but everything past that is pretty lack luster. Might consider if I can purchase the other chose 1 items at a cheaper add on price. Wonder how much those would cost to add on

    • Usually add ins for 1 and 2 are $15.

  46. I contemplated switching to this because I plan to cancel Bombay and Cedar. But…meh…

  47. I think it’s terrible. I’m annual and I will skip.

    • Easy pass, for sure.

    • Me too, very disappointing for a winter box. I canceled

    • Yeah l could absolutely live without any of this stuff. Now l regret skipping the Fall box. It was better than this.

  48. I almost subscribed, lol. I wanted a blanket and the headband is cute. But the rest of that stuff, no.

    • Me too. They put all the good stuff in the first category or two instead of spreading them across categories. That focuses us to spend more $ on the good items to add and have the rest of the box be beauty fillers that either sit in our shelves or get donated. Hmmm. Think I’ll see what Causebox is offering for winter.

  49. Wow the box started out good, but choices for number 7 and 8 suck, I would not use any of them….Oh well at least the rest of the box looks pretty good, I want lots of things, so I will be doing a lot of add-ons.
