Dopple Children’s Clothing Subscription Review – Fall 2020

Abby Holsinger
ByAbby HolsingerOct 20, 2020 | 0 comments

Dopple is a quarterly clothing subscription for kids ages 0-10 years old featuring niche brands like Nico Nico, Misha + Puff, and Winter Water Factory, to name a few. Shopping for the perfect pieces for your kiddos can be time-consuming, so Dopple helps to remove the guesswork with their detailed quiz and scheduled convenience, so you can enjoy luxe clothing pieces chosen just for your child at 30-80% off of retail.

Your first Dopple "Drop" ships 7 business days after filling out the quiz and paying the $10 service fee. From there, a delivery will arrive every quarter. Pay only for what you keep with the $10 fee being credited toward your purchase, and send back the rest. Right now they are offering a 25% discount if all items are kept. Dopple covers shipping both ways.

Dopple's mailer now serves a double purpose as a return envelope. Dopple provides a prepaid return label making returns free and easy!

My Subscription Addiction paid for this box. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

This review is of the quarterly drop including 4-6 items with a $10 styling fee + free shipping.

Ronan's birthday (omitted for privacy)

After the initial sizing and budget info, Dopple takes you through a lengthy survey of different styles you may like. They also ask if there are any colors or patterns you love or dislike as well as brand names that "make you swoon."

Each Drop comes with a big black envelope filled with a note from Ronan's stylist, a page explaining how the subscription works, an invoice, and a return label. Dopple offers free shipping and free returns, always.

Now on to Ronan's new Dopple finds!

Frenchie Mini Couture Amazing Day, 12-18 months - Listed Value $30, Dopple Price $20

Cozy and sophisticated, this sweater became an instant favorite. The fabric is soft, high-quality terry – very snuggly! I love that this is not your everyday striped sweater; a miniature front pocket and a few buttons separate this piece from the crowd.

Ronan enjoyed wearing this sweater, although the sleeves were a little too long for him. I appreciate when pieces have a little room to grow in; babies grow mind-numbingly fast!

Winter Water Factory LSR Geo Stripes T, 12-18 months - Listed Value $48, Dopple Price $34

Our stylist this month brought our drop to life with this pick! This crazy bodysuit is the cutest! I've been waiting for Dopple to send a unique pattern like this, so when I saw it, I was absolutely thrilled. While I wouldn't pay the retail price of $48 for it (or the Dopple price of $34), I don't mind paying the price after the 25% discount is applied, which comes to around $25.50; it is so bright and cheerful, I couldn't resist.

This romper goes over the head and snaps from the crotch down each leg. This is definitely the most comfortable romper he has in his size. He just started wearing 12-month clothing a few weeks ago, but this 12-18 month piece fits him very nicely already.

Vild Green Jungle Body Suit, 12-18 months - Retail Value $34, Dopple Price $31

This bodysuit totally sold this month's drop for us. Ronan's nursery has a rainforest theme, so I already have a soft spot for this beautiful pattern, but the tiny monkeys, birds ,and vivid greens were irresistible to me! I absolutely adored this top on my baby, and he seemed so comfortable in it. Slinky bamboo fabric is soft to the touch while remaining warm yet breathable.

The neckline of this top has a snapper placket that allows me to pull this over him without any tugging or fighting to get his head through the neck hole. Genius!

Frenchie Mini Couture Elastic Waist Pants, 18 months - Listed Value $34.50, Dopple Price $20

Oh, these pants are the cutest reminder that I am raising a little man! Spring green pants will work with so many of his tops (green is definitely his color!), so I am excited to play mix and match. This pair of pants is made of 100% cotton; I haven't washed them yet, so I am expecting a little bit of shrinkage. Luckily, Dopple sent us size 18 months, so we can handle a little shrinking action.

If he could choose, he would be pantsless... But if he had to wear pants, I'm sure he would choose this pair!

Rylee + Cru Ribbed Pajama Bottom, 12-18 months - Listed Value $26, Dopple Price $15

Rylee + Cru Ribbed Pajama Top, 12-18 months - Listed Value $26, Dopple Price $15

Is pajama-envy real? It is here! This ribbed set of jammies are for ultimate comfort, and we love the color scheme, too. Awesome pjs make sleepytime much more enjoyable, and they also make cuddle time more enjoyable (for me, as well!).

Who doesn't love a cozy jammie day? This pair also has room to grow in, although, after the first wash, I noticed the pieces fit a little more snugly.

The Verdict: Ro's fall Dopple Drop was an outstanding collection of unique finds and fits. I was so pleased with this quarter's drop I decided to keep each article of clothing! I am so happy I wrote to our stylist requesting some brighter colors and patterns; she really delivered this time around. A few of the pieces were priced outside of the limits I set but only by a few dollars. Each of the budget limitations on my profile are set to the most affordable options; Ronan is almost a year old, so as a treat, I may consider keeping the entire drop this time around.

Last month was a complete miss for us, but this quarter, I felt Ronan's drop was totally catered to items we were interested in, and the items' prices were pretty close to all my specified budgets. The MSRP value on my info sheet came very close to the retail value for the item I could find, so there was hardly (if any) value inflation. The retail value of this month's Drop is $209. My total cost using Dopple's prices, plus the 25% off keep-everything discount, and minus the $10 service fee brings the final cost down to $91.25, which is awesome savings.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? You can sign up for a Drop at any time, which would usually ship within 7 business days of completing the survey. Dopple curates its pieces based on each individual’s preferences as well as what’s available. What you get might not be the same as what I got, but you could get something that fits your child’s style and size even better than the looks above.

Value Breakdown: The total retail value of this Drop comes to $209; the total using Dopple's prices comes to $135, and the total sale price (if I were to keep all 6 pieces), including my 25% off discount, comes to $101.25. With the $10 service fee credit applied, that cost drops again to $91.25.

I’m a self-proclaimed “cool mom” who loves a little, who am I kidding, a lot of razzle-dazzle. I have been box-obsessed for over 10 years, and I am always on the hunt for new beauty, fun flair and trendy clothing boxes. A fun night for me includes an exfoliating foot mask and a bag of Dot's Pretzels while binging Rupaul’s Drag Race.
