  1. I got tassel earrings instead of the necklace. They have a RV of $75 so $75 less RV than the necklace. But I like them better 🤷🏼‍♀️

    • Same here! I really wanted the necklace but I do like the earrings. Was also happy the Kat Burki gel was inside the box.

  2. I never thought I would say this…Curateur has worse customer service than Boxycharm. I’ve been waiting two weeks for an email reply. And, their live chat is nowhere to be found. Getting frustrated.

  3. I would insert the link but you can easily find helpful information on the FTC website about how to deal with companies who don’t fulfill your order in part or in full.
    In your search engine just type “FTC” then enter the article/webpage title: “Billed for Merchandise You Never Received”

    It’s good to read around the different articles there and familiarize yourself with your rights as a consumer, as well as the responsibilities and rules that these companies have to follow- by law. It’s helpful to quote the relevant rules in communication with subscription companies because I have found that they fall into line quicker if you have to get to that point.And they can’t argue about giving you a shipping deadline or a refund etc. when you are just following the FTC guidelines.
    But keep a record of communication in case you have to provide it to your bank . In my experience, the bank swiftly resolves issues when you have the proof that you didn’t get what you were promised and paid for.

    • From FTC webpage entitled “Billed for Merchandise You Never Received”
      DELAYS
      If the seller is unable to ship within the promised time, it must notify you, give a revised shipping date and give you the chance to cancel for a full refund or accept the new shipping date. The seller also must give you some way to exercise the cancellation option for free — for example, by supplying a prepaid reply card or staffing a toll-free telephone number.
      * If you don’t respond — and the delay is 30 days or less — it’s assumed that you accept the delay and are willing to wait for the merchandise.
      * If you don’t respond — and the delay is more than 30 days — the order must be canceled by the 30th day of the delay period and a full refund issued promptly.
      If the seller can’t meet the revised shipping date, it must notify you again by mail, email or telephone and give you a new shipping date or cancel your order and give you a refund.
      * The order should be canceled and a refund issued promptly unless you indicate by the revised shipping date that you are willing to wait.
      * If you don’t respond to the second notice, the seller should assume that you are not willing to wait issue a full refund promptly.

  4. I am confused about the communication with the company. After reading the questions and answers. What’s in the photos is in the box you receive and it does not matter what type of membership you purchase. I received a summer box for Fall 2020 and did not receive the bonus box.

    • That’s really shady AF. I would contact CS and if all else fails, your CC company since they did not fulfill their end of the bargain. That is, unless you want the summer box.

  6. I accepted the Fall box (forever ago) as a replacement for a POPSUGAR box that won’t be fulfilled – and have no plans on keeping this sub. I’m so irritated about the gel not shipping unless you get the Winter box, which I absolutely won’t. The shipping is terrible, the season will be over before you get the items to use. I’ve been locked out of my account since day one and they keep saying they’re sending a new password link which I never get. But of course I keep getting all their other emails to refer people, shop in the “shop” etc. ugh.

  7. The coupon doesnt work anymore. A pop up even shows up saying to use it but once you get to. Checkout it says not valid. I guess I saved $50. The free gift is now I pretty charcoal candle now too.

    • Hallie, I just purchased it with the code and got the Apotheke candle as the gift. I had to adjust my email (see suggestion in comments below) and it worked.

I’m surprised anyone is even considering subbing to this box, even for $50, given the shipping delays and the fact that the $160 skin care item won’t be included in the box – but will (supposedly) be shipped later. Who knows when? Or if? With the winter box, which may not come until spring? And if you cancel and don’t get the winter box, good luck. It’s absolutely ridiculous. They just can’t get it together, even with a pretentious French name. As someone else posted, you can put lipstick on a pig, but it’s still a pig.

    • Not everyone wants the same things in boxes. I could care less about the serum or bag. I wanted to see the quality of the necklace and earring only but resellers were selling these for more than the cost of the box so I’d figure I’d just wait for a sale.

    • And besides, if I don’t get my item in 60 days, I will file a chargeback. No biggie

      I am right there with you. I considered purchasing this for the $50 because I wanted to try the skin care item.

      Yet again, I am saved by MSA and the many friends I have made on this site. After reading all of the comments and finding out the skin care item isn’t even shipping with this box it is an absolute no!

      Who I feel for are those people who
      actually purchased an annual subscription. I ALWAYS see these boxes go on sale. Why, pay full price? Why get an annual if there are no benefits?

      • Not sure. The Fall box spoilers were released on Aug. 18th which was 3 days after the last day to cancel. You may see one spoiler before canceling.

    • Hi Cynthia, I got the glasses and they’re great. Le Specs is a very good reliable brand. I own another pair that I bought about two years and they’re great. The ones included in the box are the normal /regular model, not a special cheapest edition for marketing purposes if you know what I mean.

  18. I like the chain and earrings, but I fear the earrings are too heavy for my ears. Plus, working from home I really can’t justify any of this stuff. All I’m wearing these days are sweatpants and t shirts! But $50 is a good deal…decisions…decisions….

    • I feel the same way….decisions, decisions. The only thing I want from this box is the bag and gel (which apparently isn’t shipping with the box). Perhaps we should split the box and pay 25 each 🙂

  20. can anyone comment on the quality of the eddie borgo pieces? Also how heavy are the earrings. Those are really the only things I’m interested in. Thanks!

    • The earrings are so heavy that I cannot wear them for any significant period of time.

    • To be considered Vermeil, an item’s base metal must be cast in .925 Sterling Silver, and it must be plated or bonded in gold that is at least 10 karat (42% pure) and be at least 2.5 micrometers thick.

      Over the years some jewelry companies have decided to use the term “Vermeil” to describe their products as a form of marketing, without adhering to the standards originally set for an item to be considered Vermeil. By using sub-par and non-precious metals like stainless steel and brass, and plating them with very thin layers of low karat recycled gold, this practice began to devalue and discredit the term Vermeil.

  21. They’ve gone through a few different gifts for this box already so I’m going to wait & see if there’s another one. Not a fan of that tassel necklace. If there’s a better free gift & the box still hasn’t sold out, I’ll get it then. I know opinions were mixed, but I think this tote is cute & a great color!

  22. I hope this means they’ll be releasing Winter spoilers soon. I might make room for a December splurge on this box if Rachel’s team actually puts together a decent curation that reflects our current times. No more travel bags or accessories. A cozy wrap, a nice pair of earbuds for Zoom calls, a luxe lipstick. But I have a feeling it’s going to be like, a passport holder, a desktop calendar, door knocker earrings for all the fancy events we’re not going to, and a Zoe Brand party clutch.

  23. I was waiting for this to go to $50 so I ordered it today. I love the necklace/earrings set and I would def. pay $50 for them in a store. I even like the tassel necklace but will put an extender to lengthen it. I almost bought it when PopSugar offered it as one of the credits (for which I paid $65) but I decided to wait for $50 so lucky me!

    • To me just gettiung it to get the purse is worth it- its a gorgeous purse i love it

  24. My box finally “shipped” on Sunday. Two months after I bought it (for $70, I bought it earlier bc I wanted it for fall lmao). The tracking email they sent says information is unavailable. I am so disgusted with this box.

    • Yup! Cancelled.

      • I received the shipping notification two days ago and can’t see tracking information either. I ordered the box in August.

    • Same! It says it shipped but no info. I also was hoping to use this in the fall too, lol. I ordered september 11th, definitely canceled.

  25. The email MSA sent doesn’t say the code is only for new customers (it says so here). The code doesn’t work for me as a past subscriber, and I would have gotten the box with the code. Your loss, Curateur.

    Do they ever sell out before it gets down to half price??

    • I’ve gotten most of my boxes for $50, albeit late in the season. I believe there was one season I could only get it for $60-70 before it sold out in the past year and a half that I’ve been a member.

  27. In the past, I have been able to use these discount codes with an email I have previously subscribed under but they’re not letting me do it this time. Obviously I don’t blame them but I don’t want this box badly enough to create a new email account. I totally would have purchased this if my existing account had accepted the code! It’s not my favorite curation but it’s certainly worth $50. However, nothing that I need or love so I guess I’ll wait and see what Winter holds. My overall opinion on this subscription is it’s never worth $99, always worth $50 and occasionally worth $75.

    • Little trick I picked up while being a QA analyst for a website that required me to test the sign up feature 10,000+ times.. If you have a Gmail account, you can simple add +1, +2, etc.. right before the @ sign and most sites will consider it a different email address, whereas, the emails will continue to all go to the original account. For example, if my original email address is [email protected], I can just register a new account on xyz website using [email protected], [email protected], etc. I have done this for Groupon and quite a few other sites and it has worked beautifully 😉

    • Yes, exactly this. I was holding out for a good sale, but now I’m finding that I’m trying to talk myself into it. I think it’s all the comments I’ve read about customer service and shipping issues… I do really think that necklace/earring combo is classy though. And I’ve heard nice things about that skin care line… I dunno.

  29. I am so done with this box! I hadn’t picked one up for awhile, but this one lured me back in. I ordered mine 2 MONTHS ago & they haven’t even started shipping it yet (just says unfulfilled… still), & they keep trying to sell more boxes before they’ve shipped what they’ve already sold. I also got an email that the Marine Collagen gel won’t be included, but will ship with my winter box. I seriously do not want the winter box, since I probably won’t get it until March, so does that mean I just lose out on a $160 product?

    • Thank you for posting about the delay on the Marine Collagen gel. I would have gotten the box for this price, but I don’t plan to get the Winter box so that would be a waste.

    • Hi Amanda, I contacted the customer service on the same issue and they told me that if pass on the Winter Box I’d get the serum just the same. I hope they deliver.

    • If they aren’t sending the marine gel that needs to be disclosed. If not for your post and others in the review thread mentioning it, I would not have known. If the plan is to send it in the winter box, will people who don’t plan to order a winter box not be receiving it at all? It’s pretty shady to omit a $160 product and not be transparent about it.

      • I asked them that question about the winter box (was planning to unsubscribe) and they either could not or would not provide an answer. I originally got a notice in my box that said it would be shipping within a few weeks, and then later they just said it would be in the winter box. Super shady, IMO, because it seriously decreases the value of the fall box without it.

    • They’re offering that product in their marketplace. Wonder what’s up with that?!

    • Hi Marion, it looks like you should have received just one notification email when this post went up. If you received multiple e-mails, can you please forward one to [email protected] so we can troubleshoot? That should not happen. Thank you!

      • I think Marion’s complaint is that MSA is sending ANY notifications and coupons for this box subscription when they are not shipping box that were ordered after Sep-1-2020 and that none of your posts mention that the marine gel won’t be shipping with this Fall box. Your posts are not accurate depiction of this service when you don’t warn your readers of the active problems that have been reported many many many times in the comments. By posting new coupons all you are doing is hiding the prior comments and perpetuating the fraud of this box sub.

      • The last 5 or so MSA Alerts have all been about Curateur and ONLY Curateur “deals.” That’s not what is promised when signing up for the mailing list!
