Stitch Fix Kids September 2020 Review

In our Stitch Fix Kids delivery, we received this cute sticker sheet along with a note about some back to school looks. They also provide an envelope with a prepaid shipping label for easy returns and exchanges.

This is the invoice that was sent in the Fix. It provides specifics on the brand, size, and price of each item. They also give instructions at the bottom for how to check out and either purchase or return your items in the pre-paid postmarked envelope they provide. The items for my daughter came to a total of $230, but with the 25% discount (which they take off BEFORE they deduct the $20) and the $20 credit, our total drops down to $152.50. That's a savings of $77.50 on this Fix!

This is the included style sheet, which features pictures of all the clothing and a note from her stylist. Livi's stylist is Kristy and this is our third time having a fix styled by her. She is great and seems to really listen to feedback which is so important! We asked for some transitional pieces this month so let's check them out!

Quinne Brushed Ruffle Neck Jumpsuit by Chenault Girl, Size 7 - Cost to Keep $26.00

I LOVE this adorable jumper! The colors are perfect for transitioning into fall, it's super soft and it has pockets. My daughter loves jumpsuits and rompers so this was a great item for her. My only issue with it is the sleeves. It is sleeveless which makes it not such a great piece for the cooler weather here. We could definitely put a sweater over it, but then it really takes away from the style and cute ruffle design. If only it had short sleeves!

Esme Long Sleeve Skater Pocket Dress by RUMI+RYDER, Size S - Cost to Keep $24.00

This dress is super cute with the dusty gray color and rose gold constellations, moons, and stars. It's a simple cotton dress with pockets that can easily be paired with leggings when it gets cool. While I think this dress is great - adorable and it fits her well, I didn't think it was quite worth the price tag since I could get a very similar dress from a retailer for much less.

Jodie Ruched Sleeve Tie Skater Dress by Crown of Hearts, Size S - Cost to Keep $20.00

This is another great fall item with the beautiful burgundy stripes. This dress was stretchy and soft and my daughter thought it was really comfy. It also has pockets and cute ruched sleeves with a tie at the bottom. I thought this would be great paired with leggings as well!

Saira Button Fly Skinny Jean by Celebrity Pink, Size 7 - Cost to Keep $24.00

Liv is not a fan of jeans, but these came with a tag that read "soft & stretchy" so I was hoping they would be winners. While they looked fine on her and even had some room to grow, she still wasn't a fan of them. I liked that they had the snap buttons at the front making them easier to put on, and even though she usually has trouble with things fitting her narrow waist, these seemed to stay up well.

Riana Tie Front Woven Top by Love Glam Girl, Size S - Cost to Keep $24.00

Another gorgeous fall piece! This shirt is the one that I wish came in my size! The material is light and airy, the florals and color scheme scream fall to me and I love all the details like the ruffles at the neckline and the tie at the waist. So cute! This one might cost a little more, but the quality is there.

The Brushed Ruffle Top by Bailey Lane, Size S - Cost to Keep $20.00

This top is a thicker knit than the other tops and has a cute ruffle skirt at the bottom of it that makes it feel a little more feminine. I thought it was really cute and would be great as we transition into the cooler weather. It's a great top for a young girl!

Holden Distressed Ankle Skinny Jeans by Revery Kids, Size 7 - Cost to Keep $26.00

Her stylist included another pair of jeans. These are much different in the wash and style with their light distressing and the cuffed hems (which do roll all the way down). They were a looser fit and she probably would have been okay with wearing them except that the skinny ankles were very difficult to get over her wide feet. I don't think I could endure the battle each time she went to put these on! Otherwise, they were a really nice pair of jeans.

The Front Pocket Brushed Hoodie by RUMI + RYDER, Size S - Cost to Keep $22.00

This hoodie is a very similar material to the other gray shirt she received although this one is a little baggier and more casual. I love the cute gray with black polka dots and how the hemline is rounded. It also has a pocket on the front and a decent-sized hood that could keep her warm on a cool day.

Kya Crochet Detail Top by Love Glam Girl, Size S - Cost to Keep $18.00

This top is very similar to one she received last month except we both loved this beautiful color and pattern even more! This shirt is very soft and stretchy and I think the soft feel is what appeals to her most. I love the little lace details on the sleeves. It's such a perfect little girl shirt!

Teygan Sneaker by Capelli New York, Size 1Y - Cost to Keep $26.00

Her stylist did include a fun pair of sneakers for her. These have glittery silver sides and sparkly iridescent toes and they are slight high-tops. They are cute and I'm sure she would love to wear these, but I realized that I completely forgot to update her shoe size in her profile. We could easily exchange these for a bigger size, but it seems that the last few pairs of shoes she's received have been silver and I'm ready for her to switch it up a bit!

The Verdict: There was so much fall goodness in this month's selections from Stitch Fix Kids! The beautiful colors and patterns and soft textures, I am so jealous of my daughter's fix! Haha. Her stylist did a great job of sending transitional pieces as I asked her to and for the most part, the fit and style were pretty spot-on for my daughter. This is such a convenient way to shop, and I love that the clothing is unique and selected especially with my daughter in mind. I'm looking forward to seeing some more fall styles next month!

Value Breakdown: This styling service costs $20 with free shipping and returns. The total retail value of the items inside is $230.00. The invoice lists the cost of each item next to it, but if I keep all of the items, then I get a 25% discount. The $20 styling fee for the Fix is applied to the purchase no matter how many items you keep, and in this case, it would bring the total down to $152.50. That’s a discount of around 34% for these items!

I am a homeschooling mom to 4 kids; 1 girl and 3 boys. While I have been reviewing boxes since 2018 and I love the luxury of trying new products, I'm also balancing it out by dabbling in a little bit of homesteading, too. We now have 4 chickens and a rabbit and my sourdough starter is going strong! I love learning about new brands and sharing the great things I find with others in hopes that they find something new to love or to fit their needs!
