WOW!!! I absolutely LOVE my bag:
dr.brandt PoreDermabrasion
Double Feature lip fondant & gloss
Tarte shape tape powder..it’s vegan, yay!!
Dr.Lipp superfood tints. And
Violet Voss creme brulee eyeshadow palette.
I am super happy bc I forgot to choose anything.

I didn’t see a new post about GBP selections being open but I imagine most people know by now they are up. I hope everybody likes their box! I was really happy with mine after a lackluster September that almost made me cancel. I got:

Dr. Brandt dermabrasion and Love+Craft+Beauty warm palette selected for me. Really happy with both and almost bought the exfoliant before.

I selected the mischo nail polish duo, complex culture blush brush (weak category, but I heard this brush is good), and half caked lip duo. I’m glad I avoided all the mascaras they offered me as I don’t need any!! Added on the Sunday Riley A+ for $18 and sleeping oil trial for $3.

If they keep giving me boxes like this I am sooo in for the long haul. It’s not a perfect box but it is interesting with some old, some new, and it’s diverse!

What time does customization open?

Reply ButtonReply

Jennifer

It’s open

Reply ButtonReply

Sara Salazar

When is choice time, Is it tomorrow? I can’t seem to find any info

Reply ButtonReply

Monika

Yes choice time for the plus bag is on the 2nd of the month. So tomorrow you should be able to make your selections.

Reply ButtonReply

Sara Salazar

Ooohhh sounds great, thank you!

Kati

I never Got the option to choose any of my products this month and I checked The app everyday for the last two weeks. Guess I’ll be cancelling again due to all of my allergies.

Reply ButtonReply

Nichole Mallory

Choices for Glam Bag+ are tomorrow.

Reply ButtonReply

Julie

The timeline on your app should say that choice is tomorrow for plus.

Reply ButtonReply

A

I skipped Plus this month. I love the bag but I don’t like any of the spoilers. I think I’m going to give it until the end of the year and decide if I want to cancel Ipsy or not. I have way too much makeup.

Reply ButtonReply

Maddie

Not at all interested in any of these! Guess I’m skipping again this month. If next month is this bad, I’m cancelling. The bag is cute but I’m not spending $25 just for the bag.

Reply ButtonReply

Nikkim

I like the eye brightener, and maybe the Haus gloss. I’m surprised there isn’t a wow item to lure us in

Reply ButtonReply

Jennifer

I am going to skip but then probably regret it, lol. There isn’t really anything I want from the spoilers to justify the expense-which is fine since I went ham on add-ons for September. 🙂

Reply ButtonReply

Angela

Crappy choices! All the good stuff they make you pay $18 and $25 extra for instead of including in your subscription box because they’re money hungry!

Reply ButtonReply

Lynda

I would say that pretty much every company is in it to make money.

Reply ButtonReply

sherry

So glad I paused it all…I am pretty certain I am going to cancel all of my Ipsy now…All repeats from other boxes except for the Violet Voss lip gloss…Adios Ipsy…Probably going to let go of all BoxyCharm too…Just rather order from Sephora.com or Ulta.com.

Reply ButtonReply

sandra amerson

I agree. The boxes are fun and when you get subpar items it’s not that fun.

Reply ButtonReply

Lynn

I cancelled Boxy a long time ago and am on the verge of cancelling Ipsy. But I also subscribe to The Box by Fashionsta and I highly recommend them. They send a lot of great indie products each month and it’s a good mix of skincare and makeup.

Reply ButtonReply

Jay

This doesn’t WOW me but omg the bags!!!! I’m getting it just for the bag set of all three lol

I do like the set of 3 Dr. Lipp lip tints those look fun & the thrive eye brighten thingy. I can’t take another Purlisse matcha moisturizer PLEASE don’t send me that.

Does anyone know what the Kung Fu Apothecary thing is???

Idk seems like this could be an ok month, I’m in! 🙂

Reply ButtonReply

Yasmin

How can we get all 3 bags without subscribing to all 3. I just want the bags 🙄

Reply ButtonReply

Kelly

It’s a gua Sha tool that helps lymphatic drainage & smooth wrinkles.

Reply ButtonReply

YourCatsBFF

I’m pretty sure it’s a face massager.

Reply ButtonReply

Jamey

Wow. The only thing I want out of all that is the pallette. Like not even interesting in ANYTHING. Ipsy should really step up their brands/products. Are they leaving all the good stuff for add ons now??

Reply ButtonReply

Nikki

Exactly what I said! It’s like we’re all paying more for something even slightly appealing while they’re giving junk out to the glam bag plus members. I’ve noticed this for the past three months.

Reply ButtonReply

Pink5

I haven’t been super impressed with the add-ons lately.

I suppose there could be a probability that they make more money when we buy as add-ons rather than when an item gets included with the bag, but how this all works is remarkably opaque.

Reply ButtonReply

Melissa

I want to subscribe so bad bc I love the ‘Pick 3’ thing but I literally would not use any of these items. The brow product looks too warm for my cool-toned brows and that “translucent” tarte powder looks dark af for fair skin.

I got GB+ the first month that it was pick 3 and I was very disappointed with it. Was hoping for eyeliner at least as I use it daily and that wasn’t an option. Nail polish, a moisturizer maybe. Nada. Mascara (which I’m very stocked up on) was chosen for me, and then all 3 choice categories had mascara as well, as though I’d want FOUR mascaras in one bag??? And then the ciate powder and complex culture powder brush were in the same category, so if you saw the spoilers and wanted both (like me), you’d have to choose one and add-on the other for $12. This could be done better, no? We’ve been asking for more personalization for so long and I want to be supportive of it but it’s been really missing the mark for me. The choice options people posted for September also did not induce FOMO.

Reply ButtonReply

Robyn

I just want my September bag that shipped of Harrisburg NC two weeks ago. I am in NC.

Reply ButtonReply

Patti

Do you check the tracking to follow it’s location? Follow the locations it goes and screenshot it daily from the very first day up until the final day when it’s delivered, This way you have the info handy for referring to if needed…and proof of it!
First problem is because DHL sucks! I live in PA, last month my bag went from Hebron NC (or SC), past by PA, went up to NJ, then turned around. Went past me again and went to Maryland, turned back around, went past me again, (I live 5 minutes away from the Maryland border), and went to the distribution center up in Harrisburg. Left there and came down here to my PO and was finally delivered the next day! That took well over a week!
It seems it’s taking way longer, (even with the COVID delays), than it should! I don’t understand why it went right past my state 2x and went to NJ?
Anyway if you still don’t have your bag contact ISPY on FB and at @IPSY cares (I think that’s the right place-it’s on the glam bag page.
Lastly good luck!

I’ve had packages stalled in the postal system. There is a way you can get them to move it.

It’s a bit of work, but you can go to the USPS website and submit an inquiry under the “Where is my package” tab. You will need to know where the shipping starting point is (I use the DHL office address (full number, street, city, state, zip code)), the tracking number, and your address.

I usually get my package within 2-3 business days of submitting the inquiry.

I understand that the Postal Service is under a lot of pressure these days, but sometimes you have to prod them to get your package.

Aidan

Don’t bother with Facebook, it’s garbage automated messages that tell you to sit on your thumbs. If you actually reply to their junk messages it’s “email ipsy care.” My package has still not been delivered and it has been in the possession of USPS in town for a week! I have been waiting for days for it to finally be delivered, but all that tracking says is “In Transit, Arriving Late”

Amanda

Right?!? I live literally 30-40 minutes from Harrisburg and it goes all the way to NJ and back. I’m like wtf?!? Why?!? Heck I could drive to get my dang bag!! Hahaha

Reply ButtonReply

sherry

I know…It drives me batty that I live not even 40 miles away and my bag goes out of state to get back to me…

ACK!

Dea

I guarantee it’s in New Jersey. From experience.

Reply ButtonReply

Karen

Mine went from Texas to Illinois to California.

Robyn

Yup! 😆😆😆

Autumn Key

I live in nc too my bags always ship early my mom lives in nc not far from me we live in the same county and her bags take forever to ship if you dont get it soon i would contact ipsy customer service im sorry your bag is taking forever

Reply ButtonReply

Ash

If I subscribe today will I get September’s bag or just secure my spot for October? I don’t want September’s at all

Reply ButtonReply

Anna

You’ll get the Oct. bag. I subbed on the 14th of August and got the Sept. bag.

Reply ButtonReply

Stacy

Ash Choice tomorrow is only for regular Ipsy. Glam bag plus we pick our products on the 2nd at 9am est. We get to pick 3 items in Plus.

Reply ButtonReply

Laural C

Tomorrow’s (9/23 & 9/24) choice is for the $12 Ipsy Glam Bag and $50 Glam Bag Ultimate. You will select your three items for $25 Ipsy Glam Bag Plus on October 2nd.

Reply ButtonReply

Amanda

Thanks because I was just about to ask when it was for the plus. For some reason I was thinking that was what was today instead of the regular!! I keep forgetting it’s at the first of the month now since they changed it.

LJ

You’d very likely get Oct. Sept already shipped.

Reply ButtonReply

Ash

Yeah I took the risk because I saw that tomorrow is the start of choice time for October, and saw that I am indeed receiving October and not September. Thank you for you reply!

Ashley C

I really want the thrive shadow stick! I’ve been wanting to try those and that exact shade actually 🙂 I’d also like to try the dr Lipp balms…I’d like to try the haus gloss but I’m not so sure about the shade

Reply ButtonReply

Pink5

It will be much more sheer on your lip than the swatch. The last Haus gloss I got was a pink, and it added effectively no color to my lips.

Reply ButtonReply

Katy

I opened up the Ipsy app and saw the ad for the Khloe Kardashian promo they have coming up. I straight up cancelled Plus and Ultimate and will be canceling the regular bag after the 1st due to buying a full size Ciate finishing powder with my points.

Guess I really do feel that strongly about it. 🤷‍♀️

Reply ButtonReply

Anna

I saw that ad where Khloe was showing off her Oct. goods but I’m thinking that celebs and “influencers” are getting way better bags with higher quality brands then us nobodies! No way are we getting what they’re getting.

Reply ButtonReply

Danelle

Missed that but any kardashian product can go to the trash. Gross and yuck on so many levels.

Reply ButtonReply

Lori

Couldn’t agree more ……

Stacy

Where are you guys getting this information? The ONLY thing I can find about Khloe Kardashian and Ipsy is they are doing a video with Khloe and Addison doing the tiny hands challenge and a contest for SOMEONE (not Khloe) that enters to win a year Ipsy Subscription and some other prizes. They do videos and other promo stuff with influencers all the type, I don’t get the big deal.

Reply ButtonReply

Luna

Glossy . co published an article about it yesterday.

Katy

This forum is not the place to get nitty gritty on my reasons for being as anti-Kardashian/Jenner as I am so I won’t.

I Don’t support them, won’t support them and won’t support companies that partner up with them. The only power I have as a consumer with my personal opinions on their family is where I spend my money so I will spend it elsewhere. I’ve been with Ipsy for years. Their customer service has gone above and beyond for me numerous times because I know how to talk to them to get what I want. I’ve always said I would never leave.

Apparently, I was wrong.

Alice

I speak with my money.

LJ

Oh! I was hoping that was just a promo stunt. Is it a collab as well??? Maybe not a popular opinion, but I’m just over collabs with TikTok, Instagram, reality TV show stars, etc. – particularly those with no background in makeup other than someone doing it for them regularly. Just give me a sample of a brand I can buy at Sephora (or K beauty) please.

Reply ButtonReply

Katy

I don’t think its a collab. Just a promo thing. Idk. Doesn’t matter what it is to me. If there’s a Kardashian involved, I’m out. I quit Ulta when they started selling Kardashian and Jenner products. I’ve never been a fan or interested in supporting anything they do and now, for certain reasons that don’t have anything to do with beauty or makeup, I will absolutely have nothing to do with them or any company that supports them. I absolutely am not in line with any of their so called “core values” as if they even have any in my opinion.

The only power I have in this situation is my dollars and I will spend them elsewhere.

Stacy

Ok so I finally found an article about Khloe becoming a “brand partner” and honestly y’all are making it a bigger deal than it is. Ipsy has always had a group of people that recommend brands to be in the bags. Bailey Sarian USED to be a brand partner before anyone even heard of her. They have a bunch of MUAs, influencers, and those “in the know” to recommend brands for Ipsy to feature. It’s not like Khloe is going to have complete control of what products are in the bags but with her big name it will attract higher end companies to want to be featured in Ipsy.

Alice

Hmmm…that will probably prompt me to pause (or completely cancel) Plus for this upcoming year. I’m def not the demo. I’ve let my reg GB annual expire. I’ve got enough makeup to last for the rest of my life (from subs over this past year)…and, if I’m lucky, that might be 20 or so years…I’ll be 61 in Nov. I hardly ever wear any, anyway. I’m sticking with SeeNew for my skin care and picking up fave items individual along the way, as needed…even if I have to pay full price.

LJ

@Luna 🤯
Wow, I am so not that core demo that it resonates with 🤣

Luna

I read an article this morning that Ipsy will be partnering with Kloe Kardashian for the next year. Ipsy said she resonates with their core demo.

JRose

I skipped October plus but happy I’m getting the regular bag so I can still take advantage of some of these add ons. The eyeshadow palette I would like to get for my daughter and the facial device for me.

Reply ButtonReply

Dianne

Ok am not skipping. I’ve skipped for a few month’s. I like the bag. I like the spoilers.

Reply ButtonReply

Rose

I’m torn – I love the Violet Voss lip gloss formula, but the color is SO bland. It would be great if they would make some more interesting gloss combinations, like a nice brightish pink with some blue glitter (or anything other than more of the same).

Reply ButtonReply

Aidan

I skipped October already and nothing here is making reconsider. That’s good news! I’m trying to wean myself off sub boxes. Canceled Allure last month, FabFitFun was canceled before the fall box, skipping Ipsy + next month, and I think I’m going to cancel Boxy Premium too. That still leaves the other two Ipsy and base Boxy and the long awaited return of Macy’s! (I think that’s it… oh wait I have Tribe too). I have a problem! 😂

Reply ButtonReply

Lori

So excited! I hope they do an add-on video again before choice day so we can decide what to choose and what to add on

Reply ButtonReply

Pink5

Okay, this is not so bad.

I could go for the eye palette.

Reply ButtonReply

Svetlana7e

Eye palette is add on, not a choice 🙁

Reply ButtonReply

Pink5

I’m already subbed, so not a problem.

Pink5

I understand that it’s an add-on. Hopefully it won’t be a $25 add-on, but we’ll see.

Dea

Many things spoiled as add-ons *are* choices, I’ve noticed over the past two months. You never know what ipsy will select for you!

Amber P

I would be quite happy with the majority of these things I think.

I’m really curious about Gua Sha. Does anyone do it regularly and have any good resources to recommend for someone who just heard it?

Reply ButtonReply

Susie

I love using it! It actually cuts down on facial ‘puffiness’ because it can take excess fluid and and move it so the body can get rid of it. And I agree, it does cut down on tension headaches.
IMO, it’s much, much more effective than the jade rollers that a lot of people enjoy.

Reply ButtonReply

patsy

Susie, so do you pull this device along the skin? I can see where it could be used for lymph drainage in that way. But how do you use it for tension headaches?
Thanks for the additional info.

AnnaMarie

I agree!

Katrina

I have one and it works wonders for tension headaches. Especially right above the eyebrows. Wonders! I put some face oil on and melt away the tension. I don’t think that is what it is meant for but Boy Howdy does it work good.

Reply ButtonReply

Amber P

I saw that it was good for that and hearing it actually is helpful has be super interested! Does the comb you use look like this one ipsy is offering? It looks like there might be different types

Pink5

Based on a quick Google, it’s apparently a traditional Chinese skin treatment using the device. It’s sort of a massage, but I didn’t dig too deep.

Reply ButtonReply

Amber P

Yea I gathered that from a Google search, was looking to see if anyone had actual experience. Thanks though!
