FlourishBox Summer 2020 Review

The first item is the insert card, providing some information on the items you will find in your box. It emphasizes their focus on ethically sourced products. The workers who make these items are paid fairly and work in safe spaces. I think this is really important and this adds so much value to this subscription for me without even knowing what is in it. It also mentions that the design on our scarf is by artist Anca Ioana Bostina who was inspired by nature in the summertime.

50% Silk 50% Cotton Scarf

I love this blue color! It reminds me of denim and this whole scarf is very Western summer when worn around the neck. I tend to be a little 'yee-haw' in the summer, so this suits my vibes perfectly. The beautiful silk and cotton scarf has a wrinkly texture and is screen printed in white with floral stems and butterflies. My scarf does have a little bit of a screen-printy sort of scent but it reminds me of college TBH and I don't mind.

Lots of patterns going on in this shot.

Handmade Fabric Pouch

This little pouch was made by Little Miss Stitched and is the perfect size for keeping jewelry safe. I like the shades of blue.

Handmade Scrunchie

I am a '90s kid, so of course, I love a scrunchie. I am thrilled they are a thing again. Never leave me again, scrunchies! This darling little thing I made of a blue and white printed fabric that totally coordinated with the scarf and pouch that also arrived this month. It is a little bit tight on the wrist but it the perfect size for looping around my messy bun twice!

Verdict: This was a great FlourishBox! I am loving the trio of handmade goodness that arrived. The scarf is one of my faves, especially since it is such a nice silk/cotton blend and I am crazy for anything botanical. The pouch will be perfect for stashing my little gold earrings while I am road-tripping to see my family in Tennessee in the next few weeks, and I am always pleased with a well-made scrunchie.

I love natural/vegan beauty products, Korean skincare, unique jewelry, and weird candies from far away places. When I am not waiting for my next exciting box you can find me painting or taking photographs of interesting people. I never leave home without pug hair somewhere on my shirt and a bold lipstick on my smile.

I was actually a bit disappointed with the quality this month … To me the material doesn’t feel like a cotton/silk blend; it’s pretty stiff and has no silk-like lustre at all. I’m not too fond of the pixellated design and I agree about the chemical smell. On top of it, the white print is flaking off a bit on mine.
The silk scarf in the previous box seemed like much higher quality to me.
I did love the additional items, though! The little pouch is too cute and the scrunchie is well made and pretty!

Scrunchies for life!!! I used to make them as sell them at my desk at work. My building had about 400 women working there. I sold on average about 20 scrunchies a day. It paid for my gas, parking, and lunch. Lol

This is the best thing I have heard this week! I absolutely love it! Thank you for Sharing. Made my day. I love the thought of people placing scrunchie orders to match all of their outfits!
