Nourish Beauty Box August 2020 Review

Each month, Nourish Beauty Box comes with a single info card that has a quick overview of the box on one side and more detailed information about the four products included on the other.

Earth Harbor Helios - Anti-Pollution Youth Ampoule, 30 mL - Retail Value $48.00

It's true what they say: good things really do come in small packages. This delicate little bottle of Earth Harbor Helios - Anti-Pollution Youth Ampoule is a skin repair powerhouse. The formulation is jam-packed with clean, powerful ingredients like Red Algae, Plant Stem Cells, and Cranberry Seed Oil. Sleeping in an air-conditioned room has been wreaking havoc on my skin and I've been looking for something a little extra to rev up my nighttime skincare routine. Adding a few drops of this magical ampoule to my nightly serum is the answer! The product is clean and lightweight, and applies silky before drying down smooth. My face was left feeling soft, hydrated, and oh-so-smooth. There is a very light natural scent that isn't too fragrant to the nostrils or irritating to the skin. The package is sleek. The bottle is tinted reddish, while the product itself is a gentle yellow.  The dropper applicator ensures precise dispensing so that you don't waste a single drop of this liquid gold. I can't wait to see what my skin looks like after a month of use!

Seraphine Botanicals Fruit Butter Lip Mask, 15 mL - Retail Value $25.00

Throughout the course of my life I have spent plenty of time neglecting the sensitive skin on my lips. But in the past few years, I've become obsessed with lip balms, butters, and masks. It's fair to say I own far more than I need. The Seraphine Botanicals Fruit Butter Lip Mask is the first that I've used and noticed a marked difference overnight! I don't think I am exaggerating when I say this is possibly the silkiest, creamiest, smoothest lip mask ever. Formulated with Vegan Glycolipids, Shea Butter, and Apricot Kernel Butter, it delivers intense hydration, elasticity, and softness throughout the night and it smells absolutely delicious to boot. I literally slept my way to luscious lips; now that is some serious beauty sleep right there.

Essential Rose Life Indulge Mood Fragrance Oil, 10 mL - Retail Value $26.00

This Essential Rose Life Indulge Mood Fragrance Oil is one of the most unique things I have received in a beauty subscription box, and I have to say, I absolutely love it. I didn't think I would. I've never been a huge fan of fragrances, essential oils, or perfumes, but this adorable little roll-on has won me over. The scent is unlike anything I have smelled before, and yet somehow, is so familiar. This blend is said to reduce emotional tension, soothe, restore, and invigorate the senses for heightened sensuality and self-love. The combination of rose, cardamom, and pepper creates an extraordinary rosy spice that rolls on smoothly, leaving behind a subtle scent and no greasy residue. I am excited to take this to the beach with me and apply while reading an ebook in the sun. It's basically therapy and self-care wrapped up in one small but powerful product.

Peony Cosmetics Chameleon Powder Pigment, 2.3 g - Retail Value $18.00

This highly pigmented Peony Cosmetics Chameleon Powder in Wash My Hands is a beautiful, shimmery, holographic baby pink. I am not very experienced with loose pigments, but this looks to me like something you would need to use primer or glitter glue to apply. It is a captivating, vibrant color and looks perfect for a night out on the town with the girls or anywhere you want to wear a bold eye look. I lean more towards natural makeup looks but I am definitely intrigued by this product and can't wait for a post-COVID event where I can throw on a little black dress and pop on some of this pigment to add a burst of shimmery color.

Verdict: This was another great month for Nourish Beauty Box. My favorite item in this month's box has to be the Essential Rose Life Indulge Mood Fragrance Oil. It's so different from things that I usually receive, and the scent is so unique. I also love the Seraphine Botanicals Fruit Butter Lip Mask. It is intensely hydrating, smells absolutely wonderful, and does exactly what it says it does, all while having clean ingredients and being cruelty-free. Once I run out, I will HAVE to repurchase. The Earth Harbor Helios - Anti-Pollution Youth Ampoule is another great product in this box. With ultra-reparative Plant Stem Cells and Red Algae, this ampoule works hard for your skin and is a product I'm going to add to my nightly skincare routine. Lastly, the Peony Cosmetics Chameleon Powder Pigment is a brilliant, beautiful color, and I love the holographic, light-bending shimmer it has. I'm sure every beauty guru receiving this box is going to do amazing things with this pigment. I'm counting on all of you to post tutorials for the makeup illiterate so I can create my own bold shimmering eye look. I love this box. I think all the products were high-end clean beauty items that Nourish Beauty Box subscribers will all appreciate and get great use from. With a retail value of $117.00 on a $29.95 box, I think subscribers are getting a big bang for their buck.

I wanted to see the eye color as well and the lip mask swatched on a arm(lips) would be helpful. I just got my box and need to let it cool off. Way too hot to open the products.

Taren

Um…..the idea is to swatch the colors so we can see what it looks like, that’s why we come on here to read reviews. Why didn’t you open it so we can see the shade or at least put it on so we can see the texture on skin?

Hey Taren, sorry about that, for this particular box the photographs are supplied to me and I post what is sent. I will continue to post swatches on boxes I photograph myself.

I saw the spoilers earlier and thought, “I don’t need any of that”. Then I read your review and went and signed up for a three month subscription!

Amazing! So glad the review helped you make a decision. What is your fave product this month? Have you tried the Earth Harbor Helios – Anti-Pollution Youth Ampoule yet? I’ve been mixing a few drops with my serums and WOW!

TT

But I come here hoping to learn things…like how to apply loose powder! You didn’t try it, even on your arm? A swatch would have been helpful.

From the photo, the box says to apply a primer, NOT glue. But look forward to when you try it next time.

Sorry about that TT, the photos for this particular box are supplied to me and I post what photos are sent. I will continue to do swatches of product on boxes I photograph myself. Oh also, on the tutorial I watched the young lady had better luck with eye lash glue then primer for all day wear. Hope this helps.

Jackie

I agree! Great review, helpful details – but it would have been nice to see a swatch of the loose powder. Even a regular primer swatch or a wet swatch would have been helpful.

Sorry Jackie, for this particular box the photographs are supplied to me, as you can see from the amazing quality, by a professional. I will continue to do swatches of products on boxes that I photograph myself.

Lawden

Really wanted to see that pigment swatched🥺 oh well, it does look pretty from what I can see of the box….

Marion

“Glitter glue” is one brand’s name for a specific type of eye primer (one designed to reduce fallout). It probably would be the best type of primer to use with this loose, shimmery type of pigment.

This has become one of my favorite boxes.

For those of us who prefer a natural makeup look but love the beautiful colors of the pigments, there is a way to use them as art paint by mixing them with something like school glue. I’ve not tried it yet, but online tutorials make it seem easy to do.

I have to agree Tiffany, I have been using EVERYTHING from this months box! NBB crushed it!

Naomi, your reviews of this box are awesome! Every month, I look at the photo and think it’s not for me. Then, after reading you’re review, I’m convinced I need all of these products despite having quite a cache.

Naomi

Thanks so much Tiffany! There were some seriously bomb products this month, have you fell in love with the Seraphine Botanicals Fruit Butter Lip Mask yet! I love it more and more everyday I use it lol

Tiffany

The Helios and the lip butter are my 2 new favorite products to use! Most of the time, I grab whatever from my stock that looks interesting to me at the time, but I have consistently been using these every day since they arrived. I was so looking forward to the fragrance oil because I love all things rose, but on me the rose fades almost instantly and only the spicy cardamom remains. I don’t use eye shadow, but I’m looking forward to crafting with the beautiful pigment.

Tiffany

FYI- Just subscribed for 6 months using the 15% off code. It brings the cost down to about $22 a month.
