Fabletics VIP Membership Review + Coupon – August 2020

Fabletics is a monthly fitness apparel subscription co-founded by Kate Hudson. In fact, it’s one of our readers’ top picks for Best Fitness Subscription Boxes of 2020! The VIP Membership is $49.95/month and allows you to choose from outfits and sets that have been put together just for members at a discounted price.

You can shop Fabletics in two ways—you can shop the regular store, or you can sign up for their VIP membership. VIP memberships work like this:

  • Take the Fabletics quiz, which will let the company know your size, style, and fitness needs.
  • Each month, Fabletics will curate looks that match your preferences. According to the website, outfits start at $24.00 for new VIP members. (It’s unclear if “new members” refers to just your first order, though.)
  • Shop those looks at 40-50% off what you’d get just paying retail, or skip the month. You have to make your decision by the 5th of the month. If you do neither, the $49.95 monthly membership fee will be saved to your account as a credit, which you can put towards other outfits later.
  • As you shop, you’ll also earn points that can be applied to accessories and other cool fitness essentials.

Put simply, this subscription won’t automatically send you monthly packages like other services do. (But they will automatically charge you if you take no action.) You have to hop into your account and either decide to add items to your card or skip it. Subscriptions can be canceled at any time, though you do have to call into Fabletics customer service to do it.

FYI, COVID-19 Update:

Ready, Set, Ship: Our shipping times are now 100% back to normal & select retail stores have reopened, but health & safety is still our top priority. Read more here.

Fabletics VIP Membership Review – August 2020

After last month’s fiasco, I wasn’t sure what to expect for the month of August…this time I only received one tracking number, so all of my items were in one package, and although my original “estimated delivery date” was scheduled for August 10, I received my entire order on August 17th. Read on to find out how I scored my wish list items and avoided multiple website crashes for a much better experience!

Oasis High-Waisted Twist 7/8 Leggings – Retail Value $69.95/VIP Member Price $59.95

I tend to think there is no such thing as too many black leggings, and with the adorable twist detail on the sides of the legs of this pair, I just couldn’t resist. These high-waisted leggings hug in all the right places and leave me feeling supported and comfortable. The PureLuxe fabric is noticeably soft and silky, feeling good against my skin. I noticed they stayed in place quite nicely while jogging and doing yoga. I also appreciate the built-in side pocket to secure my phone while I am using them as more of a lounge pant. I was really impressed with the quality of these leggings, and while I can’t justify spending retail price on them, I was happy to order these as part of a set for a much lower price!

Blake Open Twist Back Tank – Retail Value $49.95/VIP Member Price $39.95

Like I said above, I was able to purchase this tank top and the leggings as a set for $49.95, which is a steal compared to the retail values listed!! This recycled-polyester and elastane-blended shirt looked a bit like cotton in the modeled picture, but ended up being a bit on the silky side. I enjoyed the fact that this shirt fit loosely, and the open twist back detail is just darling! While the open back is a bit daring for my taste, paired with the high-waisted leggings and a black sports bra, I felt my mom bod was adequately covered and I actually enjoyed the cool breeze it gave on my walk!

I think the open twist on the back of the top coordinates so well with the twist on the bottoms of the leggings! It makes what would be pretty basic workout gear a little spicy and a lot cute!

Nara Half Zip Hoodie – Retail Value $69.95/VIP Member Price $59.95/Sale Price $35.97

Check out how unique this half zip hoodie is! While this hoodie zips down the chest halfway, there is a built-in mesh panel that keeps your skin from being exposed. I was a little caught off guard with this, as I just assumed the model had a black shirt on underneath. Whoops! I love that this polyester/elastane jacket also features a zipper in the back to hold your car keys or cell phone. Any extra pockets are a plus in my book! The last neat feature that I would like to talk about is the mesh panel on the hood. Now, I don’t wear a hood all that often, but I love the extra thought they put into this design to make it perfectly chic and functional. I do want to mention that the reviews of this hoodie mostly stated it was true to size, but 23% of reviewers stated it was at least a half size too small. As I tend to enjoy looser clothing, I would have preferred this to be about a half size larger, but I found it still to be comfortable and cute!

Don’t the three pieces together make a cute outfit? I did notice, with the twist back detail on the tank top, it made the tight-fitting hoodie bulge a bit in the back, but I love the look from the front!

The Verdict: Since my last first month of Fabletics was a bit of a bust, I was ready with a few ideas to help my process go smoother this time around. The first problem I had last month was getting onto the website. When you order on the first of the month, everyone is trying to log on, and last month I ended up giving up until late afternoon where my order finally went through. I also noticed a lot of comments about how fast items sell out. While I didn’t have that problem last time, I decided it’s better to be safe than sorry, so I actually set my alarm for 3 a.m. to submit my order, and it worked! All items were in stock in a vast array of sizes, I had no website glitches, and I was able to receive cheaper prices because the items came as a set. It was a much better experience for me this time around! Like I said above, my initial delivery date was August 10th, with my order actually arriving on August 17th. I understand that all packages have been a bit delayed lately, and was just really happy to receive all of my items this month! Because last month was my first order, I didn’t have a lot to go on as far as quality goes, but after a month of wear and washes, I have to say my last month’s leggings look brand new. I can’t wait to see what Fabletics has in store for us in September… I’m feeling kind of colorful, so maybe something in red will be in order?

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this set if you sign up today? Possibly, as all items are still available but in limited sizes.

COUPON: Get two pairs of leggings for $24 ($99 value). No coupon needed - just use this link.

Value Breakdown: If you were to order all items separate as a VIP member, your order total would be $159.85, but because the tank and the leggings were ordered as a set, and the hoodie was on sale, my actual order price was $89.57, saving a total of $70.28!!!

  1. Thank you h!! I’ll continue to do that in future reviews! Thanks for the kind comments!! I look forward to seeing what they offer next month!!

  2. Excellent review, Becca. They have been advertising so much, but I would order from this link. You took great photographs of the details, plus had pictures of the outfits as a whole, how everything would work together.
