I recently did an extensive review of all lifestyle sub boxes available and favorites were Fabfitfun, Causebox, Kevia Journeebox, Sunday Riley box, etc. ultimately though, a review of all benefits (based on one year sub), Fabfitfun comes out ahead because of the cost/benefit ratio. For $44 per season I got a $150 value bonus box, $350-$450 worth of products each season based on my selections, and incredible sales on add ones that I will really use. Example: Summer I spent $44 on sub plus $130 add ons and got $890 worth of product. That is a great value. This box, I am getting at least 3 items in box I will regularly use and add ons that include Sunday Riley oils at $19 for an $80 per bottle oil I already would buy. I know a lot of people complain about it and maybe if you have for years and you have too many redundant products it will decrease in value but for me, the add ons make great gifts and save me money. This all assumes that it is affordable for the subscriber, but for me, it makes a lot of sense. Just my opinion. I personally wish they had more sustainable and charity items like Causebox but at least they support a new cause each quarter.

I feel the same way about the value vs cost! I have been getting FFF off and on ever since the very first box and I love my boxes!

I initially tried to log in via my iPhone but that crashed.
Was relieved to get in on my iPad and was so glad that I was able to select all of my first choices! I added the skin spatula as I’ve been eyeing that for a while and the saving of $100 is phenomenal!

I’m a new seasonal subscriber. This is the only box I get, but I do buy beauty fix boxes if I like them.

Does FFF run out of choices by the time seasonal subs get around to picking our preferences? I really want the Dennis Gross skin care and figure my other choices are just extra (the necklace and the basket). I’m concerned my choices will be gone by the time I get to pick. Does this happen?

Also, what type of items are in the mystery box for full year subs,

As of 5 minutes before the annual window closed there were not any selections sold out in any of the categories. Throughout the window some stuff was not able to be added as an additional purchase but that changed off and on throughout the annual window too. I was able to add and drop all selections up until the very end. NOTHING WAS SOLD OUT IN THE END! (I made that all caps so people would see it better, not yelling at anyone 😉 )

My experience as an on-off seasonal subscriber to FFF is that they hold a certain number of items for seasonals so everyone can have their first pick of products. However, as a seasonal subscriber you’re not guaranteed add-ons. My last box with FFF, I was able to get all of my first choices (even stuff that “sold out” during choice for annual subscribers), but some options were not available as add-ons.

I believe all choices will be available once seasonal choices open (whether they are “sold out” at the moment or not), although you may not be able to get to add on a second option. I believe that’s how it’s been done in the past. And actually I believe that’s what’s happening right now, where certain things aren’t available as an additional choice but you CAN choose them as your primary choice.

No more canisters or serum from what the FFF community thread I just saw is saying.

First comment not showing up. Seasonal member and yes, they do run out of customization choices when it is time for seasonal members to choose.

My choices would have been the canisters and the serum and they are sold out. Ridiculous and not fair. But it is what it is.

Yes, and there is a thread in the FFF community about them running out of certain items already. Of course the ones I want and won’t be able to choose. The canisters and the serum are out.

Well darn, I just signed up hoping to get that serum. Fingers crossed I’m able to get the backpack and not get stuck with all items I don’t want 🙁

Canceled my membership, and told them why. I will probably give away the item i get in this box to he families I mentor! Thanks again for answering my question!

Thanks!!!! This is my first and last time doing fabfitfun. I’m wondering if I can cancel. It’s very misleading if you don’t get any of your top picks.

I got the cannisters and the basket, infinity scarf (I love beyond yoga’s leggings and I love short scarves that don’t bunch under coats), necklace (I don’t like anything here and plan on cutting off the charm and putting something else on the chain), water bottle (again, didn’t really like anything here), utensil set and hair clips. I’m hoping for anything other than glow milk and the spongelle (I hate these for some reason).

I don’t love everything but I’m still happy with this box.

Appaloosa Gal

I’ve been eyeing an annual for a long time. There was enough attraction value in the fall box plus the bundle code that I purchased it. The selection through the app was seamless. Customer service through chat was quick, courteous, and gracious…very refreshing. I didn’t see anything of interest in the add ons.

Totally forgot today, but when I remembered, I jumped in and still mostly got what i wanted.

Zippered tote
pocket scarf
water bottle
blue light glasses
exfoliating sugar cubes (these were a favorite in my house las time)

I chose:
infinity scarf (will gift to my mom)
glasses (even though everyone said they are flimsy and cheap)
water bottle
Horchata nail oil (I already have Mermaid Tears and love it)
Then hoping for:
pedicure in box
pumpkin room spray
superfood shower gel

Please, I am 66 and my adult girls and friends would never want the Top Milk. My mother is 94 and pretty sure she would think I lost it if I have it to her…

Got autocorrect. Glow

Just in case you didn’t see this elsewhere — I just read that the company that makes the scarfigan uses real fur in other products. (They don’t use it in the scarfigan.) I know some people don’t mind that, but it makes my stomach turn to think about supporting them by selecting their product. Going to go back and release mine and pick another option.

Christina Sanders

Good for you! Seriously, I mean it. I won’t support companies like that either.

Has anyone tried the Sunday Riley CEO Glow? I read some reviews that it was a problem for some people with sensitive skin and it caused acne. My skin is sensitive so I’m weary. I got in early and got everything that I wanted and boosted both the Kate Somerville and the CEO Glow and it’s sold out so I’ll lose it if I take it off.

I also loved the add ons. I got the Pilates ring, the Gaiam neck and back relief kit, the ACV pills, Milk & Generation Clay eye masks, and the Murad clarifying treatment. Glad they had the Pilates ring because I wanted a fitness item and it wasn’t too expensive.

I have sensitive, acne prone skin, and it doesn’t break me out. Just be aware that it’s an oil, not the serum, so it should be used as the final step in your skincare routine. It sinks in eventually, but I personally wouldn’t use it in the AM. I received a .5oz size in an Allure box that took me the better part of six months to finish, and I for sure saw improvement in skin tone and reduced hyperpigmentation. One of my favorite face oils.

Thank you for all your insight ladies!

I have VERY sensitive skin and that is one of the 2 SR products I can actually use (Luna oil is the other). I think it just depends on your skin chemistry.

I got a sample of it awhile ago but only used it like 3-4 times
My skin didn’t have much reaction to it but it NEVER sank into my skin, it just sat on it and it didn’t work so well with layering
Made my skin feel and look oily

I also have the juno night oil and that one is a bit better with sinking into the skin just takes a while for it but I put it on at night so it doesn’t really matter

It made my skin red and kind of angry looking. If you have sensitive skin then Vitamin C products can be too harsh. I have to limit myself to a vitamin C serum twice a week.

I went on at 9 and didn’t have any issues with slowness/ site crashing. I knew what I wanted before hand and got in and out quickly. I get 2 annual subs because I like to give random gifts out to friends, family and neighbors.

1st box Canisters and added on curling wand, Hair removal tool, bracelet, mason jar and hair oil

2nd box: Basket, Dr Gross serum, necklace, mason jar and hair oil.

I kind of wish I had added on the infinity scarf. It looks lightweight. I run really hot and live in Cali and the perfect scarf is hard to find.

On a side note: I hope they bring back that Isaac Mizrahi bud vase from last season, as a throwback in the future. I like it way more than I thought I would and it comes in handy for farmer’s market flowers!

Question ladies. So if I were to Purchased purchase a 2nd box do I get to customize the first 3 options?

It depends on how you purchase your second box. If it’s from the same email account and you are buying it as an add on at the $39.99 price, you don’t get to customize. If you use a different email and purchase it at $49.99 you can customize the first 3 (totally worth it for an extra $10 IMO) Hope that helps 🙂

Amy G.

I was regretting not adding on the water bottle so I went back in and can’t add it anymore. Then I checked amazon and you can get a two pack for $39.99. The turquoise isn’t quite the same and the lid is black, but you can also get them in grey or purple. Just in case anyone else is in the same boat.

I picked the canisters and added on the basket, I then picked the scarf, the necklace, the skin and co cleanser, and the hair clips. I had $300 worth of add-ons from yesterday and managed to pare that down to abut $75 so fairly proud (and sad!). I wanted to get that nanette bag but found it cheaper on 6pm. I picked up a bottle of the laundress, the AA alienist serum, the Gabba goods splitter, and a couple of little bath and body splurges.

I don’t remember what time I made my selections but it was probably at least an hour after they went live. Everything was available except the Sunday Riley boost at the end–which didn’t bother me because I had a cystic acne reaction to one of their products and avoid it.

I got some of the less popular options, but things that I wanted to try or would work for me: the mascara (that’s my brand so it’s like saving money overall), the serum, the palette, the water bottle, and the cutlery set. Some of them there really weren’t any options I wanted, but I can make all of it work.

I just went on and three categories didn’t allow for extra choices. I didn’t expect things to disappear 2 hours into the first day for annual subscribers. I was on time yesterday, but the site crashed. Later many things were gone. I wonder if there’s any chance they will add more items to the quantity available?

Yes! What Eileen said. People drop stuff as the window comes close to closing and you can often get extra choices then

Definitely go back and check. I wanted to add a couple items in my summer box, but they weren’t available when I customized. By the time the customization window was closing, they were back in inventory.

I got both bags, the bracelet, woven scarf with fringe(I went in thinking I was going to get the shaver, but that scarf was calling my name louder). I also got the water bottle and the cutlery set. I had no problem getting in. No boost. Now I need to remove some add ons because I have over 120$ worth. Ridiculous. Lol

Surprisingly smooth this time! I got everything I wanted on the first pass. I tried to edit Customization 5 to add the exfoliating cubes but I wasn’t allowed to add a second item.

Got in just now (9:15 am PST) and got everything I wanted. I am debating the scarfigan — I’m 5’5″ so I worry I’ll look like I’m wearing a robe. On the other hand, I never leave home anymore anyway, so . . . 🙂

I’m 5” but I wear those types of scarves/Verdi’s folded or halved, I love how it looks with boots. I’m down with the Moses look. Lol

That’s great to hear!

Black tote, added on copper canisters
Black pocket scarf
Necklace, hair oil….what else was there??
Oh yeah, water bottle.

Boosted sunday riley, add ons mystery bundle and brass busting leave in foam.

All in all a great box, if only for the tote, scarf, and access to boost and add ons.

Have you done the add ons mystery bundle before? What did you get if so?

I have not been disappointed with any of my mystery bundles, although I was very disappointed that the bluetooth speaker I received in one wouldnt charge at all. I have received a lot of skin care, which I love, a couple of soft blankets, which I love, a scarfigan, a 40$ tarte palette, and most recently, kid you not, a waffle iron. Which was amazing because my child loves waffles and I had been shopping for a waffle iron.

I think I’ve always gotten four items, and I may not love every single item, but I have always thought the value was very very good, and I’ll continue to buy mystery bundles in every sale.

Lauren Vavala

I can’t believe that I got in with no problem!

I chose:

1. canisters and added on the backpack to use on vacations with the kids
2. hair remover
3. blue light glasses
4. body scrub
5. cutlery and added on hair clips

I did not take any of the boosts but all were available ($19 each). I went a little overboard on add-ons this time around.

Has anyone ever tried The hair removal tool before?

I didn’t try until noon and got in after only maybe 2 refreshes, so that was nice!

Question: I want nothing in categories 4 & 5. Is “surprise me” saying ‘choose one of these options’ or is it what I think used to be called a ‘mystery option’? Because I surely don’t want the former but I would take the latter.

“Surprise me” and “mystery” are two different things. Surprise me just means they will randomly pick one of those items for you, just like categories 6-8. They haven’t done “mystery” in a while.

Elizabeth L.

For customization, choosing “surprise me” means they’ll choose the item from that specific category for you.

I believe it’s the former unfortunately.

It is surprise me from items listed.

Was able to get on 10 minutes early. I got all of my first choices for the first time ever!

I chose the scarfigan and the hair removal device and went back to delete the latter and it tells me it’s no longer available as an add-on so if I delete, I may not be able to get it back. Hopefully that doesn’t mean it’s sold out!

I recommend desktop for customization. The mobile app was crashing. Same thing happened yesterday for add-ons. I also got in15 minutes early.

Angel H

I just finished customizing and add $65 worth of stuff. I liked this box more than I thought.

LOL same – I thought I was rather “meh” about this box until I added on an extra in 3 different categories…
