The Detox Box is a green beauty subscription box from The Detox Market that costs $55/month. You'll usually receive 2-3 products from a featured brand each month that follow their strict ingredient standards and help you discover non-toxic ways to continue your beauty routine. What I love about this subscription is that I can try popular and undiscovered brands alike at a really good value!

FYI - COVID-19 Update: You can read about how The Detox Market is addressing shipping delays and other adaptations during this time right here.

This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

The Detox Box July 2020 Review

I received an info card that highlights the two included Graydon formulas this month. Let's dive in!

Graydon Fullmoon Serum, 1 fl oz - Retail Value $87.00

This is one of Marne's fave serums so I was excited to get a bottle of my own. How pretty is this stuff?? That color comes from the blue tansy oil inside which also adds a lovely scent. This serum is super light and not at all oily, so it would be great for most skin types. In addition to the tansy, there are also a ton of antioxidants and soothing extracts inside from jasmine, coffee, pineapple, malachite, and cinnamon bark. For myself, this serum doesn't really change the texture of my skin after use, but it feels tighter, in a good way. This is a nice little booster for in between cleansing and moisturizing if you have pretty normal skin and just want to treat it! Though this is recommended for nighttime use, the light texture would make it fine for day, too.

Graydon Skin Stuff Face + Eye Cream, 1.7 fl oz - Retail Value $49.00

I <3 ceramides! They are such a treat for skin that is aging, dry, or dull. The work by enhancing the natural skin barrier and helping skin feel firm and maintain hydration. Also inside are oils from black currant, evening primrose, and rosehip, as well as vitamin E and loads of aloe. This formula is designed for sensitive or reactive skin. Mine is neither, but I am prone to redness (without discomfort) naturally and I find sensitive products can often address this. This cream has a medium weight and you will feel it on your face. That being said, it isn't sticky and leaves a velvet sort of finish.

Verdict: This month's Detox Box delivered a brand I was super curious about! I think the two items included would be ideal for someone with normal skin without major problems just to soothe and maintain hydration and texture. Those with sensitive skin will also especially love that cream! I love the emphasis on botanicals from this line and am so enthused that literally every ingredient on their site is clickable to tell you exactly what they do for your skin. A skin junkie's dream, really! The value here was a very good $136 which is nice for a $55 box with such nice quality.

I love natural/vegan beauty products, Korean skincare, unique jewelry, and weird candies from far away places. When I am not waiting for my next exciting box you can find me painting or taking photographs of interesting people. I never leave home without pug hair somewhere on my shirt and a bold lipstick on my smile.

I just got this box as well (it’s my first detox box) and so far tried the full moon serum(I’m going to try the skin stuff today under makeup). Love the full moon serum so far and this is why: with wearing a mask for 10 hrs a day as an essential worker coupled with the heat and humidity of summer, my skin is constantly oily and prone to breaking out. I’ve found my current skincare, which are face oils, no longer works. The full moon serum dries down and feels like almost nothing, it is not greasy, and makes your skin feel sorta tight. Like a clay mask. It was such a welcoming feeling after the constant oil slick of the last few months. I also want to give a shout out to Detox Market. I buy from them almost exclusively because ther shipping is lightening fast, the customer service is wonderful and the gift with purchase and samples are awesome. No. I do not work for them lol! Just love the site. Highly recommend.

I bought it too. I have very sensitive skin, so the full moon serum may or may not work, but I figured it was worth a shot since I’ll certainly be able to use the skin stuff.

Since you mentioned Marne, has she left the MSA team?

Hey JMM! Marne is focusing on her own thing right now. We still have class together at night and hopefully, she might be back around in the future!

This looks so lovely to try. I can’t remember the blue tansy scent? I will have to look that up again.
