SkinStore x Omorovicza Box Review

Our items arrived in this truly lovely peach hatbox-style package with silver foiled feathers.

Under the lid was a helpful note on how to pronounce the brand name. I actually really needed this!

Included is a little booklet that shows all of the products included and also gives some background on the Omorovicza brand which is a collaboration between a US diplomat and a Hungarian with centuries-old thermal bath on his family's property. They ended up getting married (romantic!) and later met up with the head of the Hungarian Laboratory of Dermatology that also boasts the Nobel prize for discovering vitamin C. From these events, Omorovicza was born.

Time to dive in!

Oxygen Booster, 0.5 fl oz - Retail Value $92.00

I wasn't quite sure what to make of this stuff, but a little reading let me know this was a formula designed to instantly energize skin by allowing oxygen molecules to be delivered into the epidermis, which pretty quickly perks skin up. It actually reminded me a lot of a caffeine formula. My face felt cooled down and just barely tingly, in a good way. You can apply this to skin alone or add it to a moisturizer or serum and because it also boasts hyaluronic acid, it provides energy as well as hydration. It felt just barely sticky, but once I added moisturizer on top, that all went away. Nice scent here, too!

Deep Cleansing Mask, 1.7 fl oz – Retail Value $125.00

Normally, a deep cleansing mask sets off alarm bells for my dry skin, but I have had such random breakouts on my jawline from wearing a mask for 4 hours a night in class that I have been way more open to using detoxing clay masks on the lower part of my face. This mask is SO expensive! Like... is my bathroom a spa now? The clay inside is kaolin, which is less aggressive than a bentonite clay-based mask, so I was down to try this on my whole face over the weekend. It has a very natural and pleasant scent and is easy to apply to the face, especially with the little included scoop spoon! I applied a pretty generous amount to my entire face and waited the recommended 15 minutes (you can leave it on for up to 20) then rinsed. While my face felt tight as this dried, it actually felt pretty great after a thorough rinse, and looked bright and even.

Queen of Hungary Mist, 1.7 fl oz - Retail Value $50.00

I am a mist and toner enthusiast, especially in the summer. I use them a lot to cool down and refresh my dry face. Admittedly, I don't spend a ton of money on them since they are generally pretty basic formulas. It is still nice to see a pricey one in a box though! This mist has a pretty cool history (especially if you are a perfume nerd) because it was inspired by the world's first recorded perfume from the 14th century: Queen of Hungary Water. Good enough for a queen is good enough for me! The scent here is a very soft rose and neroli, and while this would never be considered fragrant enough to be considered a perfume, the light floral scent does follow my nose for about an hour after I use it!

Cleansing Foam, 1 oz - Estimated Value $16.40 (Buy 5 oz for $82.00)

I have tried this cleanser before and I really love it. It has a scent that makes me so happy with its floral and green notes. It is the palest blue color and though it is a cream straight out of the tube, it has a foaming action that gets deep into my pores. I am not super picky about cleansers and would never spend this much on one, especially as I tend to double cleanse and go through lots of cleansers throughout the year. But this one still feels special enough to savor, and luckily it takes just a pea-sized amount to get my face feeling great.

Balancing Moisturizer, 30 mL - Estimated Value $87.00 (Buy a full-size 50 mL for $145.00)

Our final item is a daily moisturizer. I have drier skin so at first glance I thought this would be too light for me to really enjoy, especially since it is mentioned as being great for oily and combo skin types. I actually love this as a day cream. It has a super similar scent to the cleanser I adore and a great gel-cream texture that absorbs quickly but leaves behind lovely hydration. Inside is nourishing squalane, apricot kernel oil, plum and apple seed extracts, and loads of other antioxidant and lipid goodies. While this is totally not going to be the day cream I reach for in colder months, I am loving it in the heat.

The Verdict: This limited edition box has a total value of around $370.40 which is a great value for $125 and $0.40 more than promised. That being said, this is a very expensive limited edition box. I get the sticker shock for sure! I think if you are missing a spa experience or already know and love the Omorovicza brand this is still a wonderful purchase full of really nice products anyone would enjoy. I actually plan on buying my mom a box when they officially launch (instead of having flowers delivered) and think this would make a really great splurge present for most anyone. As someone who has been missing her monthly facials, this felt like a really luxurious stand-in, especially since using all of these items together in one DIY "service" is a really wonderful experience that left my face looking great.

I love natural/vegan beauty products, Korean skincare, unique jewelry, and weird candies from far away places. When I am not waiting for my next exciting box you can find me painting or taking photographs of interesting people. I never leave home without pug hair somewhere on my shirt and a bold lipstick on my smile.

I refuse to buy any Omorovicza boxes that have another bottle of overpriced water.

I was so tempted by this. I love the scent of Omorovicza products. They feel truly luxurious

I’m so tempted by this. I’ve been to the store in Budapest a few times and bought a few things here and there (it used to be if you purchased a certain amount, you could get a free facial…though I never had enough time in my schedule to take advantage of the offer). If you do a search for this box on Youtube, a few have posted $10 off codes for this box.

I have loved everything I have tried from Omorovicza, their products are high end and totally worth it. I would highly recommend this to people who have been intrigued by this brand.
I do have most of the products from this box so will probably pass for now, might change my mind though.

I guess this is for people who are already fans of the brand and can score this as a really good deal – otherwise, I think it’s waaaay overpriced, from the perspective of someone who is curious about the brand but not ready to spend this kind of money just to try it. I would have preferred all travel sizes at a vastly reduced price. The bottles really are gorgeous, though.

It’s hard for me being a regular purchaser of the Net-A-Porter boxes that come out and are about the same price but worth SO much (like $600+). And I’ve tried maybe half of these in other boxes.

Still would be nice to try all together.

I fell in love with this brand a few years ago. I love when they do these sets. I skipped this one because I’m on skincare overload. I just signed up for an annual of SeeNew and I’m already on overload lol. But had this had the cleansing balm instead of the mask I’d have caved. I love to leave it on a little longer like a mask then shower and use a clothe to remove. If you have maturing or dry skin it’s so good! Man, this is still so tempting! But would definitely make a wow gift for anyone that is a skincare enthusiast. The packaging is always so beautiful and heavy. I don’t need this, I don’t need this! But now I want it ugh.

The $125 for three full size and two travel is not worth it for me but I have always wanted to try this brand

I am not the audience for this box, but I still appreciate the review! I feel relaxed just looking at the pictures and reading your descriptions, LOL. The branding is SO pretty, I just have to say!
