What is the Jo Malone box? TIA 🙂

Luna

Macy’s May beauty box was supposed to be a Jo Malone takeover box, but they suspended their beauty subscription before that box came out.

Here’s where MSA posted full spoilers for the box:

Does anyone else think it is odd (and inappropriate) to include something (tan towlette) for half a body? What about the other half? How on earth could that be used?

I’m never buying a sunscreen box again – the expiry dates are always too soon. I can’t use the majority of what was in it.

Mika

Looks like nice products, but an easy pass. I’m still working through the $7 target sunscreen box.

The target beauty box used to be free shipping with the Red Card, now they charge shipping and have a limit to spend of $35

Reply ButtonReply

Missy

Actually that isn’t true at all. I have the Red Card and am never charged shipping for the beauty box even when I just order one box.

CMB

First, I don’t have a red card and never have been charged shipping on a Target beauty box (and I’ve ordered way more than necessary over the years).
Secondly, Target beauty boxes have ended as of early July so I guess your problem is solved?

Kim

These go on sale for $5 later in the stores. I will wait.

Got two sets. The value is there for me with the quality of the items and brands. Also used my Macys bucks and got $10 off. You get extra discounts and points when you use your card.

Carol

I’ve been wanting a box like this, but not this one lol. I’d love an all sunscreen box. Even better if it’s Korean/Japanese sunscreens. Oh well.

Macy’s also has two other multi-brand sets available right now:

Friday Night In – $19.99
Buxom Cosmetics Full-On Plumping Lip Cream – White Russian
NYX Professional Makeup #thisiseverything Lip Oil
Smashbox Photo Finish Primer Water
tarte™ Maracuja Oil
Crème Shop Face Mask

Friday Night Out – $25
Benefit Cosmetics 24-HR Brow Setter Mini
Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray
p/y/t Plumping Lip Gloss – Horoscope
tarte™ Sex Kitten Eyeliner
Ardell Pre-Cut Lashes – Demi Wispies

They are both 19.99 🙂

Luna

Thanks for the update! When I first saw them the Friday Night Out box was showing as $25 without the discount, which I thought was odd since the other boxes were discounted. I’m glad they updated it. 🙂

Where is my Jo Malone box?!?!

My account says I will be billed between August 1 and August 10th. I hope it will be the Jo Malone takeover. My understanding was Macys stopped the beauty box due to warehouse staffing and safety issues during a worldwide pandemic. A lot of brands had worldwide shipping issues. I know I didn’t get some items for several weeks. Actually even my order direct from the Jo Malone website was delayed in getting to me, however I will continue to shop with them.

Hillary

I was already billed for the May Jo Malone box…hope they come through! Not happy about it right now, but trying to stay hopeful.

Reply ButtonReply

BB

Same, fingers crossed it will still be the Jo Malone box!

Reply ButtonReply

Jody

I got some of these things in a Ulta box much cheaper.

Jamey

I keep vampire hours…I dont need this…when will they start their beauty box or the jo malone take over??
I think way too many people signed up for the jo malone and they got a lit more then they expected and couldnt fulfill the orders…

Still mad about the Jo Malone box that subscribers were supposed to receive and did not. Pass on Macy’s for good.

Reply ButtonReply

CMB

Same here – they released the Jo Malone spoilers on 5/7 per MSA. That was well after the pandemic started and lockdowns were in place (my state was locked down as of 3/21 and the statewide mask rule was in effect from 5/1). Unless you have all of the inventory ready, why advertise in May unless it’s a money grab/ bait & switch?
Macy’s had enough time to get their act together, or maybe just not release the spoilers and waste everyone’s time? Instead I have a charge to my card that was in limbo so I just canceled it.

BB

I’m actually even more in favor of the Macy’s beauty box after they paused the subscription citing safety and labor issues in response to a global pandemic…

Ipsy posts are full of complaints about slower than usual shipping (which I’ve done), other boxes are on the receiving end of snark for needing to pivot, substituting products and/or postponing shipping. It seems like nobody can win here, they either continue operations and subscribers lose patience with less than perfect service or they temporarily suspend and subscribers are angry. I get complaining about shipping, but I don’t understand the kind of response which essentially blames a sub box for a pandemic.

shakingmyhead

I actually agree with this, but Macy’s has constantly been sending me emails and texts for all of the sales they have been doing online. They are still shipping things out. I think I am just over subscription boxes in general, lol. I canceled all of my subs.

Erica

Well said BB. I was thinking the same!

What is this Jo Malone box everyone talking about?

Kelly

Me too, it turned me off from Macy’s for good when they pulled that. I was really looking forward to the Jo Malone box.

Marion

Target’s $7 one was better.

I personally feel like an SPF 17 moisturizer & a hair finishing spray are out of place in a sun care focused set.

Reply ButtonReply

CMB

Agreed – plus the Target box was released in June which is far more useful than one that will probably arrive in August!

Reply ButtonReply

Stephanie

Agreed! The $7 Target one rocked.

Reply ButtonReply

AlainaB

A little too late with this one. I am still waiting for the actual monthly box to return. Easy pass.

Judith Acosta

$25 for this instead of launching a gorgeous beauty box?, No, thanks! They should keep the old $15 subscription

JuJu

Just FYI, Macy’s has a 10 Days of Glam event starting today, with a lot of additional beauty items on sale!

Emma

Thank you for posting this. I went to check it out and found something perfect for a Christmas present for my sister. I think she’ll be very excited (and I’m excited that was on sale and had free shipping).
