Ecocentric Mom June 2020 Review

Green Sprouts Sprout Ware Plates, 3 pk – Retail Value $5 (currently on sale for $3.50)

These plates are made with plant-based fibers and are a super safe material for your babies. They’re quite small, only 4.5″ in diameter, but they’re perfect for my 9-month-old exploring solid foods, or even for crafts/activities or the play kitchen at the very least.

Kneekers Knee Shoes – Retail Value $14.95

I adore the name of these! Kneekers! They are like shoes for crawling baby’s knees. I tried these on my daughter and she didn’t seem bothered by them or anything and crawled around fine but after maybe half an hour I noticed that between her knees bending a lot and just the friction from crawling, they had slid down around her calves. Cool idea, but I was let down with their performance.

Masami Mekabu Shampoo, 10 oz – Retail Value $38

This shampoo is plant based and has a very clean ingredient list. It has no parabens, sulfates, pthalates, alcohol, animal testing, silicone, and is vegan and safe for color-treated hair. It smells really good – pretty unisex. My hair felt really nice and hydrated after using this to wash!

Hippeas Organic Chickpea Puffs Vegan White Cheddar, 0.75 oz – Buy twelve 1.5 oz bags for $19.99

We love these in my house! They’re sort of Cheetos-adjacent made with chickpeas so they have some protein to them. They’re crunchy, cheesy (vegan), and I feel better having my kids snack on these than traditional Cheetos.

Verdict: This month’s Ecocentric Mom was decent. I’m bummed the Kneekers are a dud for us. I’ve already been using the shampoo and the plates, and we ate the Hippeas right out of the box after I finished taking photos. The total retail value of these items is $59.62 which is pretty good for a $36.99 (plus free shipping) box.
