World’s Finest: The Collection – Heroes and Villians Box Review
It comes with an information card that details the items in your box. Everything you see in this box was made exclusively for World’s Finest: The Collection.
1 of 4 2 of 4 3 of 4 4 of 4 Batman / Joker Reversible Tee So cool! Some of you know that Batman is my FAVE hero (Savannah keeps reminding me he is actually a vigilante). I feel like I was always attracted to the moody darker “heroes” as a kid (Batman, Piccolo and Vegeta from DBZ, Spike from Cowboy Bebop, I could go on) which is hilarious since my nickname at home is literally “Sunshine.” This tee speaks to both the dark and the light and it is quite literally reversible! One side is grey and the other purple. Both feature the same playing card inspired design with Batman and the Joker, but on the grey side Batman has the upper hand and on the reverse, Joker is on top. Because this shirt is literally two shirts, it is twice as thick as a normal tee.
1 of 5 2 of 5 3 of 5 4 of 5 5 of 5 Darkseid Bust I legit don’t remember this villain at all for some reason. That is kind of embarrassing since he was rated the 6th Greatest Comic Book Villain of All Time by IGN. Whoops. Sorry, dude! I will say this bust is really cool and very detailed. The minimal paint job is better than some of the other figures I have gotten in this sub and the black round base looks very clean! I need to read up more on this guy to fully appreciate him, I think.
1 of 6 2 of 6 3 of 6 4 of 6 5 of 6 6 of 6 Wonder Woman/The Cheetah Embroidered Patch Set I have to admit it. I prefer The Cheetah to Wonder Woman. Shes just like so cool and edgy and angry all the time. Her hair is perfect and she looks like a freaking super cat. Wonder Woman (much like Superman) always feels so “good.” Yawn. (Am I secretly a supervillain?) These patches are really cool and nicely embroidered. They would look great on the arms of a denim jacket!
1 of 5 2 of 5 3 of 5 4 of 5 5 of 5 Yellow/Green Lantern Sock So the different lantern corps all have a certain way of doing things right? Green vs. Yellow is essential will power vs. fear and these socks are a really cool design around that sort of theme. The upper area is all green fading to yellow towards the toes.
1 of 3 2 of 3 3 of 3 Superman / Doomsday Sliding Pin This (rather large) pin boasts a super cool feature: Superman and Doomsday can slide back and forth towards each other! Even not being a Superman fan (sorry not sorry) this is a very cool pin.
1 of 4 2 of 4 3 of 4 4 of 4 Flash/Reverse Flash “Reversible” Journal I do really like The Flash (and also his protege Impulse from the Young Justice comic series). I mean, the guy is just cool. And fast! This journal continues on the good vs. bad sort of theme, pinning him against Reverse Flash. You can actually flip this journal around to suit your preference between the two. The pages inside are unlined, meaning its perfect for notes, journaling, or sketching.
1 of 3 2 of 3 3 of 3 Black Adam Plush I had to giggle that they turned Black Adam into such an arguably adorable plushie, because the guy is actually a super violent kind of antihero who used to be a supervillain but morphs into an ‘eye for an eye’ sort of guy who dispenses what he personally sees as justice and has a rather complicated relationship with the other DC heroes. He is a complicated fellow, but he makes a rather cute plush!
1 of 7 2 of 7 3 of 7 4 of 7 5 of 7 6 of 7 7 of 7 Vinyl Decal Set Our last item is a trio of vinyl decals featuring Aquaman, Black Manta, and what I think is the Black Manta symbol. These feel super retro because now whenever I think of Aquaman I automatically (and happily) think of Jason Momoa. Verdict: We all have dark and light inside and superheroes need supervillains! This box was a great assortment of the dark and light sides of DC comics and I imagine DC fans will be really happy with these exclusive and thoughtful items, especially the reversible tee! To Wrap Up: Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Sadly, no. This box has sold out. Sign up today for the Summer 2020 box featuring a retro Wonder Woman theme! Value Breakdown: At $55.99 ($48.99 + $7 shipping) you are paying approximately $7.00 for each of the 8 items. I love this type of box!!! I wish I had a place for things like this – but I don’t. I’ll just have to ogle the “geeky” subs and imagine with envy the fantastic rooms that they have full of collectibles.
