Style Plan by Frank And Oak is a clothing subscription for women and men from Canadian brand Frank And Oak, who often uses recycled and organic materials coupled with eco-conscious methods to produce stylish clothes that you can feel good about wearing. Each month their stylists provide a selection of clothing, shoes, and accessories to choose from that fit your unique style. Once you receive the pieces, you can keep what you like or return what you don't with the $25 styling fee only being charged if you keep nothing.

This review is of the Style Plan by Frank And Oak for Men, which has no styling fee for a limited time (normally $25) and free shipping.

This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

Style Plan by Frank And Oak Men's Review - May 2020

It's important to note that for a limited time, Frank And Oak is waiving their $25 styling fee and has extended their return policy to 30 days! That means you can sign up for the Style Plan for free and only pay for the items you hold on to.

*As a reminder, you will get charged for everything in your Style Plan box up-front when ordering and will receive a refund for anything you end up returning.

The other great thing I'd like to note is that they've added a button on most of their items to "Add to my next Style Plan box." This allows you to add items to your Style Plan box without the help of a stylist. Not every item has this feature, but many do. This is good news for picky people like myself who would end up chatting with my stylist most months to add items for me that I was interested in trying but weren't included in my box.

As always, I've asked my boyfriend Kurt to help me showcase Frank And Oak's men's clothes by ordering and modeling his picks via the monthly Style Plan. Here's his top work-appropriate outfit from the box, ready to be called into action if he ever needs to go back to the office.

The Short-Sleeved Jasper Oxford Shirt in White, size small - Retail Value $59.50/Member Price $54.50

Made from 100% organic cotton, this short-sleeve Oxford is perfect for warmer weather. Kurt reports that it's "very soft" and it feels super breathable and lightweight. Although he probably won't be returning to the office anytime soon, he'd be able to rock this button down to work since its crisp white color isn't too casual and he can easily tuck it in which he prefers. It's a bit longer than some of his other work shirts, but that's what makes the tucking in so much easier. A single breast pocket offers a classic look.

The Mackay Skinny Chino in Dark Blue, size 31 x 32- Retail Value $89.50/Member Price $79.50

Kurt has these chinos in another color and liked them so much that he went for the dark blue which he finds really versatile. Also super soft, he referred to the fit as "perfect" which is the main reason he loves them so much. You can see in the photos what a slim cut leg these have along with the flat front and slit pockets. The back has button pockets and the belt loops come in handy since Kurt wears a belt every day. I think these look so flattering on him and are perfect for his style! Made with 98% recycled cotton and 2% spandex- these are truly a skinny cut!

The Short-Sleeved Stanley Hemp Shirt in Green, size small - Retail Value $69.50/Member Price $64.50

We are both crazy for hemp shirts over here, so Kurt jumped at this 55% hemp and 45% cotton blend short-sleeved button-down. Perfect for spring and summer, the fabric is really breathable and the green and white pinstripes really elongate Kurt's torso. This one has the same cut as the white shirt and he's pretty excited to wear this one in warmer weather. Kurt wears more button-downs than he does T-shirts so this is right up his alley. Like all Frank And Oak button-downs, this one has a small branded patch at the bottom which I think looks really cool.

The Jasper Stretch Slim Oxford Shirt in Olive Green, size small - Retail Value $59.50/Member Price $54.50

The most unique feature of this olive green Oxford is the darts in the back, making it ultra-slim cut. This is probably the slimmest button-down Kurt owns now which also makes it perfect for tucking into chinos for the office or a more dressy event. Just like the chinos, this shirt is 98% organic cotton and 2% spandex which gives it the stretch that a cut this slim needs. The soft green color is practically a neutral yet adds a little "spring" into Kurt's wardrobe.

Calf Length Socks in Grey, x 2 - Total Retail Value $25.00/Member Price $23.00 (Retail Value $12.50 each/Member Price $11.50 each)

Kurt loves these socks so he tossed in another couple of grey pairs in his order. He likes that they're not as bulky as sport socks but are more absorbent than the usual full polyester or nylon dress sock. They also fit into dress shoes a lot better. Made of a hefty 75% organic cotton along with 15% cool-plus polyester, 7% spandex, and 3% elastane, these will help keep his feet cool and the high cotton content will cut down any smells.

The Verdict: Kurt loves Style Plan by Frank And Oak, plain and simple. For someone who likes skinny pants and slim-cut shirts, he's found his dream brand, especially when coupled with ethical and sustainable fabrics. Every month there are new material technologies, patterns, and items to discover in his Style Plan. Although they can be a bit pricier than typical mall brands, the quality, fit, and materials used are worth it to him.

To Wrap Up:

Can I still get this box if I sign up today? Each Style Plan by Frank And Oak box is catered to your preferences, so you'll most likely have different options than Kurt. The good news is that you can sign up for your own Style Plan to see what the styling team will pick for you!

Value Breakdown: The total retail price for the six items that Kurt chose is $303.00 but the total price for members came to $276.00 which is a savings of $27.00.
