Margot Elena Summer 2020 Review

This box comes with a card detailing all of the items included. I adore the watercolor illustration design this quarter!

Lollia Always in Rose Travel Candle, 4 oz - Listed Value $12.00

I love that this sub always seems to include a candle, and this one is a soft true rose scent. There is also a hint of tart hibiscus in there too, but it is simply there to complement the rose petals. This is the sort of scent I like to burn in my bedroom before bed while reading a good book!

Lollia "Imagine" Journal - Listed Value $26.00

This is such a unique and pretty journal. The fabric-covered outside is a soft bird pattern of blue, grey, and purple, while the inside matches the hot coral built-in tassel bookmark. There is even an elastic loop to make sure you always have a pen handy too! The pages are all lined, so this is the perfect spot to jot down dreams, great ideas, and more!

Lollia Relax Shower Gel, 8 fl oz - Retail Value $22.00

A big tube of shower gel is another regular in this box, and I love that! It always seems to appear when I need some and this formula is luxe! The texture is a very heavy clear gel that lathers up easily with or without a loofa and perfumes your shower as you massage it onto your skin. This 'Relax' scent is a blend of lavender and honey, with notes of musk and woods too. It is a very soft scent that clings to you after you rinse.

TokyoMilk Light 'And Soul' Eau de Parfum, 1.6 fl oz - Retail Value $44.00

FYI: You might receive a TokyoMilk Light OR Dark perfume.

It is always exciting to see a full-size bottle of perfume! While I am a massive fan of the TokyoMilk Dark scents, their Light counterparts are especially nice for breezy days when you want to smell nice, but not blow everyone in the room away. This 'And Soul' scent is a powdery soft mix of tea leaves, fresh air, orchids, and musk. It wears very close to the skin and is a perfect choice for someone who might normally prefer body mists to heavier perfumes as it lives kind of in-between.

TokyoMilk Cherry Bomb Lip Balm, 6.2 g - Retail Value $10.00

Margot Elena lip balms are always the prettiest I own. This sweet little cherry balm is demure in its clear glass pot and smells like cherry candies. It also tastes a little sweet! The formula is great for chapped lips since it boasts beeswax, aloe, shea butter, and vitamin E.

Trio of Cards Stationery - Retail Value $21.00 ($5.50 each)

I have been buying Margot Elena stationery for a few years because I love the vintage-inspired designs and the slightly cheeky text. This set has three cards: one is a birthday card with a flamingo on a cake, and the other two (a bee and a lemur) are just because! Each comes with a matching white envelope and has a trace of fine glitter.

The Cottage Greenhouse Rosemary Mint Pumice Foot Scrub, 4 oz - Retail Value $26.00

Summertime means sandals, and my feet, well... don't look great right now. It was easy to ignore them during the last few months, especially with fluffy slippers being my main footwear. This is a strong-smelling scrub that should whip them into shape in no time. This grey colored formula is powered by volcanic pumice stone to buff away dry skin while the soothing oils of rosemary and peppermint invigorate.

The Cottage Greenhouse Rosemary Mint Foot Cream, 6 oz - Retail Value $28.00

As a complement to the foot scrub, the ME team also included a foot cream this month. It has the same scent as the scrub and is a super pretty pink color! This is a heavier cream that you can rub into your tired feet or wear to bed. This is actually my favorite way to moisturize my feet! I like to apply a very heavy layer, rub it around, then slip on some cozy socks before bed. Leave them on overnight and your feet are going to be so soft in the morning! This was a really timely duo to receive.

The Cottage Greenhouse Cucumber & Honey Handcreme, 4 fl oz - Retail Value $24.00

Our last item is a tube of handcreme. The scent here is cucumber and honey, and in typical fashion, it does smell like those ingredients should in your mind, but somehow better and more like a natural perfume. I will say though, that this is a scent Will doesn't mind using himself! The formula is a blessing to my dry hands and it absorbs in a snap, leaving behind only softness.

Verdict: My Margo Elena Subscription Box didn't disappoint. I love that it was a mix of old faves (shower gel, candle, lip balm) but with the addition of new things like the foot scrub & cream duo, and the pretty journal! As always, this box feels like a gift to yourself, but you can also use it as gifts for others since everything is so gorgeous. This box has an overall value of $208.50, which is great for a $49.95 box filled with such pretty things!

 To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, the Summer box has sold out. The Fall 2020 box would be your first if you sign up today.

Value Breakdown: At $49.95 each of the 9 items has an average cost of $5.55.

I love natural/vegan beauty products, Korean skincare, unique jewelry, and weird candies from far away places. When I am not waiting for my next exciting box you can find me painting or taking photographs of interesting people. I never leave home without pug hair somewhere on my shirt and a bold lipstick on my smile.

I should have signed up in June for fall! That’s crazy. I didn’t want to be charged so early! I got in for winter and on the wait list for fall. Bummed but maybe people will cancel before September.

Wow… Fall already out again… 🙁 and it’s just the beginning of July.

I am so bummed I missed this box! I am obsessed with that journal and I love the hand creams from Margot Elena brands. I think I’m gonna go ahead and order the fall box, but I also secretly subscribed to three other boxes yesterday, plus all of the boxes I receive currently… needless to say, I’m feeling a little bit guilty.

But to be fair, some thing that brings me joy is putting together beauty bags for friends and coworkers just because. I am blessed to be able to do that and bring a little joy to other people who may be going through a difficult time or just need a little pick me up. so essentially, every box that I receive I keep a few products for myself or gift them to my two sisters, my mom & my nieces, and then give the rest away. I’m all about spreading joy and it really, really makes my heart happy. So with all that being said, or typed really, it’s totally fine for me to get this box, right?

Megan – thanks so much for another awesome review! I always look forward to your reviews & they never disappoint.

Hi Keri,

I just happened to be looking back in comments to see when the price went up and I saw your comment. I actually have this journal and have never used it. I would be happy to sell it to you if you’re still looking for it.

Was wondering where my box was… well my annual subscription ended and I was cancelled!! No email no conversion over to seasonal so I missed it.. so sad. If anyone wants to part with the summer box I will gladly take it off your hands!!

Cindy

Same here. I was an annual and didn’t realize it ended. I’ve been waiting for my box not realizing it had ended so luckily I was able to get the Fall box but still 🙁

Kelly

Same thing happened to me! Was expecting to be charged for dinner after my annual expired, but when I went into my account it says I cancelled. I never cancelled! I’m so bummed I missed this one.

Kelly

Lol, summer, not dinner !

Any discounts codes for this subscription?

I forgot to mention in my other comment, the Relax scent (shower gel) is a dead ringer for the perfume Casmir by Chopard. Casmir isn’t super expensive (I recently got a bottle for under $35) so the Relax gel is great for layering with the Chopard perfume

I had never heard of ME until coming to this site (no Anthropologie here in WV). This summer box is my first from ME, and I love it! When I subbed several weeks back, I also purchased several items from the site (fortunately none of the things in this box, yay). I agree that many of the perfumes lack in sillage and longevity (even though the scents are lovely); however I had purchased a few of the Perfumed Cremes (the Library of Flowers line) and can attest that they have GREAT longevity, and they’re such a great price! So if you want some ME scents that last at a low price, def try one of those (my faves are the True Vanilla and Honeycomb, I like gourmand and heady honey scents). All in all I do think this box is a good value and ME by far has the best packaging I’ve seen. Not just the actual box, but for every item they produce, every packaging detail has been carefully considered. They’re stunning.

Thanks MSA for turning me on to this brand!

I LOVED opening this box!! It’s especially nice to have such pretty, thoughtful things beautifully wrapped and delivered during the pandemic. The journal is exquisite–I love the wraparound cover and the tassel bookmark! It’s so pretty! I can’t wait to write in it.

I hope future boxes will have more items like the journal–it’s so pretty and thoughtfully detailed.

I also love the cards–they sell them at a shop in our town for $5/each, so receiving them feels like a great value.

I’ve subscribed to this box for a long time, and though some of the repeats are disappointing (I haven’t finished using the foot cream and scrub from the last time we received it!) the items like the journal and the perfumes make it worth it. I love trying the perfumes. Since perfume is such an expensive item, receiving them in the box is really fun, since I rarely splurge on a full price perfume for myself, and choosing a perfume is always so overwhelming. Especially now, during the pandemic, I’m not going to hang out in a shop trying out perfumes! So receiving one is lovely!

Some unique item ideas for future boxes: an umbrella, tea set, mini teapot, another dish towel and apron, and the tote bags! I use the tote bag that I received in an old box all the time.

Thank you Margot Elena for this bit of cheer amidst gloomy times!

I would love to see a soap dish (for all her pretty soaps!) or a proper teacup. She sent a cup in a past box but it had no handles, so was far too hot to drink tea from. Cute as a general container, though. A mini/personal teapot and mug set would be amazing (probably too heavy though to work out) and i’d love another tea towel. I’m using the last one we got – it’s surprisingly durable for what I first thought would be more of a secure towel. It’s become my favorite actually useful towel, lol.

And yes, another tote! I love the cloth rose one, it was my every day bag for about a year and I know use it to hold things on vacation inside a larger bag.

I just received my box today! This was my first box and it did not disappoint. I even resisted peeking at this review until I opened my box. Love everything in it and will use it all ☺

I did not read the review either. I got my box today. I loved it.

Miss Pippa

I did the same thing! The surprise is one of the things I love about subscription boxes. This box was perfect for me. Each item was such a hit that none of them will be going in the gift drawer. I got the light TokyoMilk light perfume and just love it.

Glad i skipped this one. The notebook is lovely, but i can get a nice notebook for a lot less that $60. The full size perfume is nice but I have never found any of her perfumes to last more than a few hours (if you are lucky). And I have several. Those are the only two things that are exciting at all or not repeats. Glad everyone else likes it though, but for me I’m glad I saved my money for sure. This definitely isn’t her best box.

This is one of my favorite boxes. It’s a beautiful box of happiness! I also appreciated the heads up they gave us at the beginning of May to remind us about the upcoming charge.

Thoroughly enjoying the mix / these stunning patterns and colors need to be on items that we can use for longer than you would a typical beauty product. Outstanding curation!

ME

I was with them from the very 1st box to the last one but skipped this time around (the last 2 were just OK) but this box looks like one of the earlier ones. Hope everyone enjoys!

I almost cancelled when the last box had no stationery but so glad I didn’t! Love this box. Only miss was the lavender shower gel in the repeat scent, because I’m allergic to lavender. But it’s easily giftable!

I haven’t tried the perfume yet since I have so many open perfumes and they do degrade over time, so I’m not sure if I’ll love it or not, but everything in it save the musk sounds nice.

Star of the box though for me was the journal. It was so nicely done inside and out, not just a pretty print on the outside but all the details were curated. My daughter insists I must share it with her, lol.

I like the balance of beauty and non-beauty items. I think I will use the lemur card as a father’s day card. Still very happy with this box!

Beautiful box, as always! Happy to see the return of a special, non beauty item. I’m thrilled to get the foot scrub again.

I don’t know when I get my box as the border is still closed. I love everything in this box: the foot scrub is the most amazing thing from ME. It does wonders. The foot cream is fabulous, too, even though I dislike the lavender smell. Lip balms, candles, hand creams, shower gels – if not used, make smashing gifts. The perfume is always welcome as I collect it.

This is truly one box I will keep forever. Can’t wait for my box!

As always Love this box. So glad to see the non-beauty items again. I have been subscribed since the first box and will continue.

This is a great box really you’re going to complain what were they supposed to put in there a bikini.

I’m so happy that the foot scrub is in the box! That is an item I have paid full price for and love, and I ran out of it awhile back, but I wanted to see if it was in the summer box before buying another, and yay, it is! The foot creme is amazing too. I love taking these travel candles with me on vacation and take a luxurious bath with these candles lit by the tub. Now if only it was safe to vacation. I love Margot Elena and can’t wait for my box to get here.

WOW! I’m so happy with this summer box. I can say I have loved everyone of my boxes . I always share with my 3 daughters, sister and mom. They are very generous with their products. I high recommend this box.

I love ME but I think I will pause a while after this one. I’m up to my eyeballs in handcreams, bar soap, and shower gel now and I think I’d rather shop the sales instead for a little bit.
