Mines finally out for delivery today and my shipping email said its version 2. I was hoping for v1. Hopefully this variation thing isnt going to be every month. I loved that LF didnt have variations and that we all got the same products every month. I’m also not excited about the fact that v2 has some many variations in that variation. I’m sure I’ll get everything I dont want. I hope August is better because I just resubscribed for another 6 months because I was so happy with LF. I’ll reply to this comment when my box gets here to say what I got in case anyone is interested

I personally feel the reason for most of the disgruntled Boxycharm subscribers is variation. When it started, people started getting very upset. Things started becoming unfair. One person’s box was worth more, one thing was advetised and then you’d get another, etc. I also loved that LookFantastic gave everyone the same thing every month and this was just a one-off due to product shortage from COVID or whatever else. I’m not overly disappointed by anything really coming in my box #2 (but I do prefer box #1), but I think I will offer them my feedback just in case this is the route they are going…

Yeah I got v2 also. I don’t know a single person that got v1! The box was terrible too! The matte lipstick was cheap and barbie pink. I’m glad I cancelled!

So I subscribed last month (june) after seeing the gorgeous bag with molton brown product etc…have to say I’m disappointed so far! Did not get June box as I thought it would be very disappointed none of the same products.
So I cheated this month and watched a few in boxing videos for a sneak peak……all had option 2 from above but I’ve got option 1 and I have to say I am disappointed. I agree with some of the comments above appears to be a bait and switch going on and all are sample sizes.
I have friends who rave about this box and the amount you get with so many full size products but my experience so far has been underwhelming to say the least.

I finally got my shipping notification and I am receiving version 2. I’m really disappointed with the variations and I am thinking about cancelling when my subscription is up. I hate variations as I feel like most of us don’t get the “good” option.

It’s starting to seem like “If FFF can have multiple items with variations, now everyone can!” is the new plot twist.
I did not renew FFF for that reason and I am cancelling this subscription, as well.

Just a heads up…I cancelled on June 28th and they charged me today for a box for July. My account says no active subscriptions. I emailed customer service so I’ll see what they say but this is very annoying.

It’s possible I missed that part and then it’s on me! But I don’t recall seeing it and the cancellation process didn’t say anything about it. I’ll see. If I get another box it’s not the worst thing to happen to me lol

This is the most complicated box reveal ever! Thank you for detailing everything (and to Plush Koala).
I think the mega variations are to do with supply issues… but I know which box would be best for me, if I get box 2 it’ll be mainly repeats or items I won’t use. Fingers crossed for box 1!
I think LF might get back to normal when things calm down, but they should release a statement about the variations because it’s not what we would usually expect…

Another sub…going off the rails. I sure wish I had not taken an annual with the holiday lure. LF used to satisfy with at least one full size item each month. Then it became all sample sizes. Now the dreaded variations…with variations within the variations. Double stinkaroo. No way will I sink my money into this again. There are no refunds, of course; however, I’ve already cancelled, and will just have to ride it out until the end. What a waste of my money.

This used to be my favorite box. The samples have been much smaller the past year or so. We used to get full size products every box. And now variations. Glad I quit.

Along with the sentiment of a fellow commenter on the Kinder Beauty post yesterday that showed a new “variation” box wherein one box was much nicer, I’m also cancelling all boxes that start pulling this variation theme. Personally, I’m sick and tired of one nicer box to reel in subscribers and then a variation shows up either a few months after someone has subscribed for a year or after they have collected payment.
So, as one person commented on that thread, I’m ready to stop subscribing if the subscription is starting with variations. If that means paying more for monthly renewals, that’s what I do, anyways. I will be out of there.

I completely agree! It would be very instructive to know how many of each variation is sent out. Usually there’s one really great one and one ultra-meh one, and though we all like different things, it’s pretty obvious from looking at the variations which one is going to be the most popular. It almost feels like a bait-and-switch and it’s a really gross thing to pull. I was going to subscribe to Look Fantastic, but there’s no way I’m doing so now.

Last month was my first with LookFantastic, and I loved it. But I just cancelled for July. Not wowed by these spoilers … a few items look lovely, but I’m trying to only keep subs that I love. I may come back to LF in the future, though. I have heard good things overall from subscribers.
