GlossyBox June 2020 Review

GlossyBox includes an info booklet that tells you about each included item, their value, and a tip on how to use. This month has a "World of Beauty" theme and the items are from Australia, Greece, Korea, the UK, Japan, and the US.

Also included was a promo for $10 an order from Lively.

ModelCo Liquid Metal Eyeshadow in 'Champagne' - Full Size! Listed Value $19.00

I did find a similar formula to this, but I couldn't find the exact same-named liquid eyeshadow or color. Regardless, this is a very pretty metallic liquid eyeshadow. I found that it did take a little time to dry, but it even worked better when blended with a fingertip to create a soft halo effect on the lids. The doe-foot applicator makes application really easy and clean.

It is a true metallic sort of look but blends out to a soft shimmer.

Korres Greek Yoghurt Moisturizing Probiotic Gel-Cream, 20 mL - Estimated Value $18.00 (Buy 40 mL for $36.00)

I have sampled this gel-cream before and I really like it! Korres makes some really nourishing products, especially if your skin is dry or dull. Though this tube might look demure, inside is half the volume of that full-size item, so it is actually a really great addition, especially since a little of this cream goes a long way with the gel-leaning formula. It has a soft, sweet, and creamy scent that does feel natural. It is loaded with proteins that help maintain skin's natural moisture barrier and help reduce redness and inflammation.

TONYMOLY Peach Punch Cleansing Wipes, 8 count - Estimated Value $1.87 (Buy a 30 count pouch for $7.00)

I first tried these wipes back in a Macy's Beauty Box and I love their yummy peach-ring scent! They also do a fine job of wiping away dirt and makeup and by far are the cutest and most fun wipes I have ever used. I keep meaning to buy more of these!

RODIAL Vitamin C Cellulose Sheet Mask - Retail Value $18.00

I think I expected this mask to have a citrus scent though it really didn't have a strong scent at all, rather, it had a very subtle clean smell. The mask fit well and was dripping with a clear serum containing hyaluronic acid (for moisture) vitamin C (for brightness), and vitamin B3 (improves texture). This mask was also made of that second skin style bio-cellulose material that just fits the face so nicely! My face certainly did have a glow when it was removed and even though I would never, ever spend $18 on a sheet mask, this felt like a treat to receive in the box!

Decorté Lipsome Serum, 9 mL - Estimated Value $22.50 (Buy 20 mL for $50.00)

This Japanese serum came in the cutest little squeeze bottle! Inside is a soft gel with a pearly sheen. It is designed to be a time-release of moisture for your skin, and is perfect for applying after cleansing and before your day cream to make sure you look dewy and hydrated all day long.

High Beauty High Five Facial Moisturizer, 3 mL - Estimated Value $2.40 (Buy a full-size 50 ml for $40.00)

High Beauty High Expectations Facial Oil, 2 mL - Estimated Value $3.60 (Buy a full-size 30 ml for $54.00)

High Beauty is a brand that is known for its cannabis sativa oil addition to nourishing skincare. This duo of packets is both an oil and a moisturizer sample, and this is the perfect way to explore the brand. I recommend using the oil at night in place of your normal night cream, or if you aren't keen on all face oil application, save it for your dry spots. The cream is wonderful for daytime, on a bare face or under makeup. The oil has a soft green scent and the cream is a little sweeter, and almost reminds me of applesauce somehow? My nose might be off today. Both are great for calming redness and hydrating my skin.

Verdict: This month's GlossyBox included a nice assortment of items from around the world. Everything in here was actually pretty good! My faves were the peach wipes, Korres cream, and that expensive serum! The mask was also a nice addition and the eyeshadow was bold, but gorgeous. I had already tried both of the High Beauty products and love them, so it was nice to refresh my memory. The items I could find retail values for totaled $66.37, which is decent for a $21 box, especially since the value grows with whatever the eyeshadow is worth. I did include the little bonus samples in this calculation.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? The June box has already sold out, so if you subscribe today, you'll receive a mystery box worth over $80 as your first.

From GlossyBox

The month that you order in is the first month that you will receive. For example, if you subscribe any time between January 1-31, your recurring subscription will begin with the January Box. The only exception to this rule would be if the monthly box sold out before the end of the month. In its place, we will ship a special edition of the Classic Box, which is comprised of our top 5 items over the most recent months.

Value Breakdown: At $21.00 for this box, each of the 5 items in this box has an average cost of just $4.20. If you include the bonus samples (7 items total) the value calculates to $3.00 per item.

I love natural/vegan beauty products, Korean skincare, unique jewelry, and weird candies from far away places. When I am not waiting for my next exciting box you can find me painting or taking photographs of interesting people. I never leave home without pug hair somewhere on my shirt and a bold lipstick on my smile.
