Your Bijoux Box May 2020 Review

This month's theme is "She's Classic - With a Twist" and we received this bright card which lists all of the items we received on the back.

Baroque Pearl Strand Necklace

Let's start with the classic necklace first! This baroque pearl strand is very simple and suits my jewelry style well. I can see having many occasions to wear this one since it will spruce up just about any outfit! These are 9 mm cultured pearls which are double hand-knotted with silk thread and finished with a sterling silver clasp. There is only one setting and this necklace measures about 17 inches.

Here it is on. The length is perfect and the variation in shapes from the white pearls means the light always seems to hit them just right!

Wanderlust + Co Helix Silver Layered Bracelet - Retail Value $59.00 (currently on sale for $10.00)

This bracelet is similar to some of the pieces I received in my November box although they are just different enough since this time we received silver instead of gold. This bracelet has a 925 sterling silver base and is plated with Rhodium. The curator, Shana, suggests mixing and matching with the previous gold pieces so I may have to see how the bracelets pair together. I already love the layered look of this bracelet and could see it being a fun look if I were to add in the gold bracelet I have! This bracelet measures about 6.25 inches at the smallest setting and 8 inches at the largest.

This bracelet is a fun one with the geometric charms hanging down!

Wanderlust + Co Multi Helix Silver Ring - Retail Value $49.00 (currently on sale for $7.00)

This ring is so fun and funky and it is from the same collection as our bracelet. The gaps between the pieces of silver make it feel so unique and I feel like it's something that someone from Game of Thrones might have worn with all of this twisted metal. While I really love the look of this one, it is very wide which means it is not the most comfortable to wear. The taller pieces of silver can poke into your finger a bit if they are in the wrong spot, but a quick turn of the ring seems to help!

Here it is on. You can see that it almost reached my knuckle.

Here are the helix pieces together. They match nicely!

Here they are on together. The shapes are bold, but I feel like the silver tones them down a bit which makes these pieces very wearable!

Santa Barbara Studio Designs Kiss and Makeup Bag - Retail Value $12.99 (on sale for $4.19)

Our gift this month is a fun little bag that reads "Kiss and Makeup" which is just cute enough for a makeup or travel bag. I love the shiny silver and how soft the material actually is. It measures about 7 x 9.5 inches which makes it such a useful little bag. It is the perfect size to fit your basic makeup tools and some jewelry inside for a weekend away!

The Verdict: This month's Your Bijoux Box was a fun mix and the pieces definitely fit the theme of "She's Classic - With a Twist." I love it when they include a variety of styles and this month we had the classic pearl strand for a more polished look and then there were some fun and funky silver pieces for a more bold look. While I don't always opt for bold looks, the ring and bracelet were just interesting enough without being too over the top. This box was also a great example of how this subscription is aimed at helping you build up your jewelry collection with pieces that you can mix and match over time. This month I was only able to get the retail values of the two Wanderlust + Co pieces and the bag, but that total came to $120.99 (although only $21.19 with those awesome sale prices) and since that doesn't include our pearl strand, I think that's a pretty fair deal for a $39.99 (with free shipping) box!

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? This box is still available, but hurry—quantities are limited!

Value Breakdown: For $39.99 with free shipping for this box, you are paying approximately $10.00 per item.

I am a homeschooling mom to 4 kids; 1 girl and 3 boys. While I have been reviewing boxes since 2018 and I love the luxury of trying new products, I'm also balancing it out by dabbling in a little bit of homesteading, too. We now have 4 chickens and a rabbit and my sourdough starter is going strong! I love learning about new brands and sharing the great things I find with others in hopes that they find something new to love or to fit their needs!

This is a fab deal for $40. Works out to less than $15 per jewellery piece plus freebie metallic makeup bag. I received my box today. The pearls were lovely, but must admit they would have been better as 18”. They fit me. I already had the ring from wanderlust as I order from them. It’s comfortable and has a great modern look. I’m always happy to receive this box. I’m looking forward to matching and mixing the bracelet.

I’m so happy to have gotten the earrings instead of the ring. I just don’t wear rings. Wish there was an option to do gold only. Had I gotten the right I would have cancelled. I normally don’t wear silver but the braclet os fun enough.

I really love this subscription but I too have a serious problem with the necklace lengths. The pearls are way too short/ tight. And that is a bummer because they are beautiful. I will have to buy another extender, which will not look good on this type of necklace.

And I recieved Jules Smith earrings instead of the ring, thankfully. I don’t like that ring at all and the earrings are really nice. I do like the helix set. But I was hoping for the other ring style in the collection. And in gold to match my gold set from an earlier box.

I’m really liking the silver bracelet. And will try it with mixed metals. I wore it yesterday with 2 celestial looking pieces and mauvy-lavender colors in my clothes & make up. It’s edgy looking and super shiny. Overall nice box!

I found that you can turn your bijoux box inside out & it looks really cute to store stuff in or gift in!?

Why would anyone cover 925 silver with rhodium?
I used To get this box but found that as I wore The pieces a few times the finish started to wear and it would smell like metal at a scrapyard. I agree with comments that the necklace is far too short to lay properly on most women.

I’ve been a subscriber for a long time and none my jewelry smells like a “scrapyard”.

I also have been a subscriber for quite some time and I’ve never received anything that smells. I think the pearl necklace is very nice and the length works for me.

Iris

Wow, I don’t understand the negative comments on this box. I agree with Brandi, this was a super fun box this month. I am a subscriber and love the Wanderlust items. If you prefer your necklaces longer, you can get extenders anywhere. I use them to customize the length on necklaces to what I wear.

Happy Rebel had the exact ring and necklace version available in gold. It looked so much better in gold.

Agree with others about the pearl necklace. At this length, it would need to be a much smaller diameter to lay on the neck and collar bone properly.

I was going to resub to this box since I wanted the pearl necklace. Yet am happy i did not. The wanderlust pieces ruin the box for me. The pearl necklace is perfect for summer. The other items dont remind me of summer at all. The curation used to be so much better.

I agree with the comments regarding especially the metal pieces. YUCK! It’s sad, what’s happened to this sub.

I wish they’d go back to having spoilers before the monthly renewal. I don’t like these wanderlust pieces at all and have tried to avoid every box that has them. Silly me for thinking a box with ‘pearls’ would not have wanderlust in it. I think I’m going to be canceling soon. The value isn’t there anymore.

I want that necklace I love freshwater pearls but a chintzy 17 inches wouldn’t work for me I need at least 18-20 even 22+ That is not a flattering length right there at that part of the neck, ugh! The bracelet and ring are ugly and I don’t see the value.

Amy

I don’t see the value in this sub at all. I don’t see a price for the pearls, but the other three items are sale items totaling $21. I can’t imagine paying $40 for this. The metal pieces look unwearable—especially that ring. Yikes.
