Your Bijoux Box November 2019 Review

This month our collection is a collaboration with Wanderlust + Co and while I believe there was a silver option available, too, I am excited to have received these gold pieces! They are all made from stainless steel with an 18k gold gilt. They feel like quality pieces, too.

Multi Helix Gold Bracelet – Retail Value $59.00

This bracelet is actually my favorite piece this month! While it does have some larger shapes that seem as though they would make it clunky, these pieces lay flat, so the overall look ends up being more subtle on your wrist. The chain itself is made of pretty large rings as well, but since they are so rounded and smooth, they don’t feel large at all when wearing it. I love the little diamond shape detail at the end where it clasps too! It feels dainty and pretty at first glance, but on second look it is much more interesting with all of the interwoven shapes.

Here it is on. It is very comfortable and lightweight and while it does slide around a good bit, it’s not in an obnoxious way.

Infusion Gold Earrings – Retail Value $49.00

While I usually opt for studs or classic, simple earrings, these quickly grew on me! At first, I wasn’t sure I could get past the fact that one side has a larger ring in the center than the other one, but I realized, once they were in my ears, no one, myself included, would be able to tell anyway. These are much bigger than what I would normally choose for myself, but since they lay flat against the side of my head they are more subtle than I expected. I actually love how sleek they look with their simple shapes and shiny gold plating.

Here is a side view of them. They fit comfortably and are not as heavy as they look.

Helix Gold Layered Necklace – Retail Value $69.00

This necklace coordinates perfectly with our bracelet and features larger helix shapes and a toggle closure. When I first saw this necklace, I knew immediately that it was totally outside my comfort zone with the asymmetrical design and large shapes, but I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked it once it was on. It still may be a bit outside my usual style, but I know that if I were to wear this necklace out that it would be a statement piece and get a lot of compliments since it is so unique and eyecatching!

Here you can see the necklace and the earrings from a front view. I’d probably wear the necklace with a different neckline next time, but it was laundry day and I could not for the life of me find the top I wanted to pair it with!

Here is my attempt to showcase all three pieces together. I’m not gonna lie, after wearing them for a while I was kind of feeling the fancy look of these bold pieces!

Santa Barbara Design Studio Tech Pouch – Retail Value $8.00 (currently on sale for $2.89)

Our gift this month is this cute little tech pouch made from washable paper. It’s such a useful little pouch to keep headphones or phone cords in and keep them safe and untangled. I like the way it is a bit stiff and seems a little more protective of whatever you put inside than a cloth pouch. I’m not super big on phrases and this one doesn’t suit my personality at all, but it’s still cute and since it will likely be thrown inside of another bag, it doesn’t bother me in this instance!

The Verdict: This was my first time receiving Your Bijoux Box‘s monthly subscription and based on spoilers I was a little intimidated because my jewelry style is super minimal and basic. Once I saw it in person and tried everything on, I was actually really happy with this collection! Subscription boxes have really taught me to leave my comfort zone and it’s definitely broadening my style. These pieces are shiny, bold, and incredibly unique and while that isn’t my everyday style, I am so happy someone curated a new look for me to try out for special occasions or on those days when I’m just feeling extra. As for the value, the retail value came to $185.00 which is great for a $39.99 (with free shipping) box. Plus, the fact that I discovered some great new pieces that I never would have chosen for myself holds a lot of value for me, personally.

            To Wrap Up:

Value Breakdown: For $39.99 with free shipping for this box, here is what you are paying approximately for each item:

            1. This was the most gorgeous collection EVER!! The outdid themselves!

            2. Hi Brandi, thanks for the great review. I thought these pieces looked good in the spoilers but they look even better on you in your review! I wondered about buying the set without getting a sub, purely because I love the look of this set but haven’t loved others in previous boxes. I’ll be keeping an eye out for these reviews in future, though, because if they manage to replicate this type of design (elegant, long, classic geometric gold looks) I’ll probably have to subscribe. Thinking about buying this in their shop for the moment, tho. Thanks again.

              • Hi Mimosa! Thanks so much for reading! The jewelry is definitely much prettier in person! Hopefully they’ll have a great Black Friday sale and you’ll be able to score these or similar pieces for yourself! 😊
