Pura Vida Bracelet Club May 2020 Review

Pura Vida sent this cute fold-out card that tells a little bit about their company and how they give back. This card also includes a nice thank you for your support as well as several fun summery stickers for us!

This month, Pura Vida Bracelet Club did something a little bit different. It looks like they weren't able to get the May packs to us in time so instead, they provided a code for us to use to shop for our own bracelets. While I loved this idea, it was so open-ended! I didn't quite know what to do! Also, while it does say free shipping, I did have to contact them to fix my code so that it would waive their $10 minimum requirement since my total was only $0.10 with the coupon (yes, I spent just a bit of my own money this month). So let's check out my picks!

Sunlit Starfish Pack - Retail Value $35 (currently on sale for $21)

I was totally overwhelmed since I knew I would be reviewing this pack. If I were shopping for myself I might have picked a metal piece of jewelry, but I wanted to stick to the bracelet club idea, so I opted for a pre-made pack and one that was on sale for $24.50, now down to $21. I chose this pack because it was beachy and fun, which is exactly what I need in my life right now.

The starfish charm is super cute and just fun enough without standing out a ton. The white string with the silver and turquoise accents are really cute and what help it tie in with the rest of the pack.

A cute and fun charm bracelet!

This string bracelet is plain and simple, but it pairs well with the charm and all of the colors mean that I can find a lot of other bracelets in my collection to pair this one with, too!

Such nice, beachy colors to me!

This last bracelet is all one color but it has these fun little multi-faceted silver beads. It goes perfectly with our set, and also with the bonus bracelet I added.

I love that the little beads move around so you can change up the look!

Here they are all together. I can't wait to wear them at the beach!

Delicate Seed Bead in Seafoam - Retail Value $8.00 (currently on sale for $4.80)

Since I wanted to use up the entire $30, I added on this delicate seed bead bracelet because I thought the string and silver beads would complement my pack well while the pink beads would add some more variety in color. It was on sale for $5.60 when I purchased it so I did have to spend $0.10, but it was worth it to me to get as close as I could to the total amount of the promo code.

It's very delicate and cute! Another one that I could see working with many of the bracelets I already own.

It also blended in perfectly with my set and added just a tiny pop of color with that pink.

I love that these bracelets feature bands you can adjust to fit your wrists comfortably. If the bracelet ends are too long on your wrist, check out this YouTube tutorial on how to shorten the ends!

The threads are also coated in wax, which means you can wear them at the beach or in the shower if you're too lazy to remove them like I am! These bracelets definitely hold up over time, which is one of the many reasons I love them.

The Verdict: I think what Pura Vida Bracelet Club did to resolve their product availability issue was a great way to ensure that everyone was happy this month. I tried a few different options and the $30 could easily have been spent many ways and still been way under budget for the usual 3 bracelets you get. I am pretty happy with my selections, although it would have been fun to completely create my own pack, too. It was just a lot of pressure—I would find that the color I thought would coordinate well with my first bracelet would be sold out, so picking a pre-made pack was much easier! I definitely got a great value for $14.95 ($15.05 if you include the $0.10 extra I paid) since my bracelets retailed for a total of $43.00!

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? You'll likely receive the June pack. From Pura Vida:

Value Breakdown: At $14.95 for this box, you're paying about $3.74 for each bracelet.

While I have been reviewing boxes since 2018 and I love the luxury of trying new products, I'm also balancing it out by dabbling in a little bit of homesteading, too. I love learning about new brands and sharing the great things I find with others in hopes that they find something new to love or to fit their needs!

I signed up later in the month and was not offered the$30 credit. So I wonder what they mailed me instead

I did the same thing. They mailed me the bracelets from April

Unfortunately, they didn’t fix the $10 credit for all customers. Here’s what their email to me said:

“The code for our Monthly Club order actually works like a regular discount code. For you to be able to use it, you will need to have a minimum of $10 after using the code so that you can proceed to the checkout.”

While I did enjoy the items I purchased (a cute daisy choker and bracelet), it was upsetting to have to pay $10 during an already difficult financial time. As a member for as many years as I can recall, I think they handled this poorly.

That’s so weird. I didn’t remember even having a problem with shipping so I went back to find my order to confirm. My total was $35, minus the $30 credit plus tax they charged me $5.32. There is a line item for $4 shipping on my invoice but it doesn’t show in my total and I swear it showed free on the site when I was checking out. I didn’t place my order until May 15…maybe they corrected it by then??

Definitely a possibility. I think what happened was that they corrected it over time. I put the items in my cart the day they sent the email, so you’re probably right.

I had the same reaction as you did about the $30 credit—sooo many choices!!! I love Pura Vida so it’s hard to choose. I ordered the same pack, too, because I love starfish and anything beachy, which is why I’m such Pura Vida fan. I also ordered two of the wave rings, and did not mind spending $6 of my own money.

I don’t always “get” their style but they seem to have been great customer-experience wise and those are super cute!!

I think it’s brilliant how they turned an oops into a treat this month! I chose the shell bundle. It coordinates nicely with several items in my collection
