PinkSeoul Plus Box March/April 2020 Review

Prior to purchasing a subscription, PinkSeoul will ask you several customization questions. Some products are more appropriate/recommended for a particular skin type, so be sure to figure out your skin type.

Here is the info sheet detailing the products included in this box.

We also received some G9 Skin samples as a bonus, which was a nice extra (I have had the full-size version of the white in whipping cream and really liked it).

A’Pieu Glycolic Acid Cream, 50 ml - Retail Value $17

I am a big fan of this brand, so while I’m stoked to see it in this box I’m a bit bummed I received this exfoliating moisturizer rather than the soothing madecassoside cream which was the other variation sent given my skin profile. I try to be careful about not over-exfoliating given my sensitive skin, but using this underneath a sleeping mask did leave my skin softer when I woke up the next morning. The active ingredients in this cream are 3% glycolic acid and 0.45% salicylic acid, and it is also made with 30% birch juice which is a super soothing and hydrating ingredient.

A’Pieu Madecassoside Fluid, 200 ml - Retail Value $19

I am so happy about receiving this- it has already become a part of my daily skincare routine! This has a texture that’s thicker than a typical toner but not quite thick to be a true serum. I have used this in both the toning step and serum step of my skincare routine depending on the other products I used that day, and it layers beautifully. Madecassoside is a component of Centella Asiatica, and this fluid has it in a high concentration that is super soothing and nourishing to my skin.

Keep Cool & Soothe Bamboo Serum, 50 ml - Retail Value $27

Keep Cool is another K-Beauty brand that I love, and this serum is the perfect complement to the Madecassoside fluid if you love soothing skincare products as I do. This is made with bamboo water and Centella, and I use it as the last serum in my routine before I apply moisturizer in the mornings.

TONYMOLY The Chok Chok Green Tea No-Wash Cleansing Water, 300 ml - Retail Value $15.50, Listed Value $19

I am familiar with the Chok Chok line from TONYMOLY due to subscription boxes, but this was the first time I tried the cleansing water. Cleansing waters are my preferred cleanser in the mornings when I want a fresh base for my morning routine, and this one features fermented green tea for a boost of antioxidants. This is gentle and hydrating, and a little bit goes a long way- this big bottle will last a while.

Petitfee Agave Cooling Hydrogel Face Mask - Estimated Value $3.58 (Buy 5 for $17.90)

Any mask that is labeled as “cooling” or a “hydrogel” is going to be the one I want to try first, and this did not disappoint. Along with being blue (aka FUN), this was like a cold drink of water for my face that felt absolutely lovely. Along with agave, this mask also features seaweed, blueberry extract, and caffeine.

SNP Per F:t Bio-Cell Mask in Double Soothing - Estimated Value $3.60 (Buy a pack of 5 for $18)

I love these masks- they feature a super-thin bio-cellulose material (my favorite mask material after hydrogel) that was actually a bit difficult to see through the mesh backing, but that meant that this mask fit my face incredibly well. The soothing version of this mask features coconut water, glycerin, niacinamide, tea tree extract, and Centella- all ingredients that nourished my skin and left my face feeling soft.

This box normally includes an "accessory" item, but due to COVID-19 PinkSeoul instead included two extra masks to encourage social distancing. I am fine with the switch- I support the message, and I also have used these masks before and loved them.

Son & Park Beauty Full Soothing Mask – Retail Value $2.75

This was described as a mask you only needed to wear for five minutes, so I used it one morning post-shower as I was getting ready for work because I will literally wear a sheet mask as often in my life as I can. The surface area of this mask was tiny- I definitely didn’t feel like it reached my entire face. I did like the ingredients list, though- it has agave, multiple types of roses, peppermint, aloe, and various other flower extracts. This was gently cooling on my face while I wore it, and I liked the pampering it added to my morning routine.

I'm Sorry For My Skin Purifying Jelly Mask – Retail Value $4

This isn’t a new mask for me, but I’m happy to see it again. It features a thick gel-serum texture and is infused with ingredients like Centella, chamomile, and peony. I massaged all of the leftover gel into my neck and chest, and I love that my skin absorbed it well and wasn’t left sticky.

The Verdict: I think this is my favorite box I’ve ever received from PinkSeoul Plus- the only way it could have been better was if I received the Madecassoside version of the A’Pieu cream. I love the brands featured, the products chosen, and my skin has been nourished and happy since I started including these in my routine. Value-wise, this box has a total value of $92.43.

Thanks for the review, Jessica. I have the A’pieu Madecassoside Fluid and find it very easy to use, no matter what other products I apply after. It’s never irritated my face or given me breakouts. And wow, the bottle is lasting a lot longer than I expected given my liberal and frequent use. Everything I have tried from A’pieu, skincare or makeup, has been a good deal, too. If you don’t want to risk irritation on your face from the glycolic cream, it should work well on feet, knees, or other dry skin.
