April 2020 Petit Vour Review

Each box comes with a folded card detailing the items included, and the prices of the full-size versions.

Let's dive in!

Akar Soothe Face Oil, 7 ml - Estimated Value $21.00 (Buy a full-size 30 ml for $90.00)

Akar Clarify Face Oil, 7 ml - Estimated Value $21.00 (Buy a full-size 30 ml for $90.00)

Akar is a newer brand I have seen in a few boxes and I have liked literally everything from them I have tried. And the cool red packaging? Love. This is a set of two face oils packaged together in a set I couldn't find online, so I did decide to break the values down separately. The Soothe oil is ideal for normal, sensitive, and dry skin, and the Clarify oil is better for skin that leans more on the oily and combination side of things. Both are easily absorbed into skin and leave it instantly hydrated. I found the Clarify formula to be lighter and more of a day use for me, and I liked the Soothe for the evening.

RMS Beauty Swift Shadow in 'Tempting Touch 76', 2.5 g  - Full Size! Retail Value $20.00

RMS Beauty makes some of my absolute favorite eyeshadows! They always are easy to wear and blendable, and more often than not, gorgeous as a single shade. That suits my normal natural-faced vibe very well. This shade is a deeper taupe with notes of bronze and a little lavender in there too!

It looks much more shimmery in this image, but it feels like a matte with a little scattering of sequins in person.

Luna Bliss Natural Deodorant, 2 fl oz - Full Size! Retail Value $11.00

I love that this D.O. is baking soda free, since I apparently can't wear ones that include it anymore. It is a little softer than I expected but honestly does a fine job as long as I don't sweat too much. I am not crazy about the scent because it feels like something a lip gloss should smell like, but it is light enough to ignore. I did find myself reapplying around 3 pm, but that is pretty par for the course when it comes to natural deodorants for me.

Love Sun Body SPF 30 Lightly Scented Sunscreen, 0.84 oz - Estimated Value $4.47 (Buy a full-size 6.76 oz for $36.00)

Finally, our last item is a little tube of sunscreen that smells awesome! I do recommend shaking this before applying because mine was separated a little and straight oil came out when I opened it before shaking. After though, all good! I think for me this was a little too heavy for my face and left behind an expected sunscreen sort of shine. My neck, arms, and shoulders though? Perfect!

Verdict: This month's Petit Vour box has an estimated value of $77.47 which is great for an $18 box. I love that there were two full-size items and some super high-quality facial oils from a brand I already want to try more from. It felt like a very summery box too, which totally suits the higher temp outside.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, your first box will be the June box. This page will tell you which box you will get when you sign up.

Value Breakdown: At $18 for this box, here’s what you are paying approximately per item:

  • Akar Soothing Oil $4.88
  • Akar Clarifying Oil $4.88
  • RMS Eyeshadow $4.64
  • Luna Bliss Deo $2.55
  • Love Sun Body SPF $1.04

Alternatively, each of the 5 items has an average cost of $4.50. (I chose to break the Akar kit into two items for pricing clarification!)

I love natural/vegan beauty products, Korean skincare, unique jewelry, and weird candies from far away places. When I am not waiting for my next exciting box you can find me painting or taking photographs of interesting people. I never leave home without pug hair somewhere on my shirt and a bold lipstick on my smile.

I am using every single thing in the April box.. and my May box is on its way. Can’t wait to see what is in there. I love that shade and have another one coming in a different beauty box. I will be purchasing more of this brand on my own. Thank you for the review. Glad you mentioned that 3pm touchoup on the natural deodorant. I have been experimenting while working at home.

I remember that Akar brand from receiving a tiny bottle of eye oil. I was so nervous to use it but it turned out very nice. I don’t know of any other brand that made an eye oil. I think I dropped it and never got my 3ml worth. lol.

It’s in the FFF memorial sale (+the clarify oil) for a really good price.

Oh, so that is where I got the sample. Anyway ended up buying full bottle of the Akar eye oil through Ipsy discount. I am now using Lil Fox eye oil and my undereyes are the only dry and sensitive skin on my face so I have to be so careful. I am not sure if it from using medical eye drops…I loved the Akar brand. Glad Megan distinguished the face oil but haven’t even opened yet but guessing the combo/oil one will be just right.
