Nomadik “Don’t Wait To Hydrate” March 2020 Review

There is a small trifold pamphlet that goes over the three items included in this month’s box as well as Nomadik tips, the Nomadik challenge, and some brand discounts.

Minaret Mtn Thermal Mug, 12 oz. – Retail Value $29.00

I love this mug! It’s a wonderful size in that it’s not enormous, and it fits in my cup holder in my car as well. I love the simple sleek design as well as the cream and black colorway. The thermal mug essentially has two lids: when fully removed, you can add coffee, ice, whatever through the wide mouth. If only the very top lid is removed, you can still sip and enjoy the beverage without having it completely open to let warmth out or spill. It feels nice in my hand and keeps my coffee nice ‘n warm.

Mizu Straw Bundle – Retail Value $4.95

Most reusable straws I’ve received lately are stainless like this one but stop there. This straw comes with a silicone tip that can be slid over the straw so it’s a bit more comfortable to sip from. It won’t feel freezing cold with iced coffee or clank against my teeth in an unhealthy way. The silicone also has a slight bend in it which is kind of nice. Mine came in a marbled green color which is super outdoorsy and can be cleaned easily. The set also comes with a brush to make sure any smoothie or other debris is properly cleaned out.

HydraPak Stow 1 L Flexible Water Bottle, 32 oz. – Retail Value $17.00

I was surprised to see a water bottle this month after receiving one last month, although they’re different. The “flexible” water bottle sent this month came in bright baby blue and is made from flexible BPA-free plastic called TPU. It’s shaped sort of like a large flask and holds 32 ounces of liquid when full and can be rolled when empty to pack easily. The cap can be removed to fill but has a twistable sport cap when in use to cut down on any spillage which is key since the bottle is so flexible. Overall it’s pretty fun to drink from since I can just squeeze it into my mouth like a Capri Sun.

HydraLyte Powder Sticks – Estimated Total Value $1.67 (Buy a 12 pk for $9.99)

I tasted the lemon flavor of this hydration packet and it ain’t half bad! These powder packs contain the correct balance of glucose and electrolytes to rehydrate the body and reduce symptoms of dehydration. I know first hand how awful dehydration can be after being hospitalized many years ago due to riding my bike and overexerting myself without having any food or water on a hot summer day. My body completely shut down and I was unable to continue riding, walking, or even sitting up on my own. Having these packets on hand while out in the wilderness or on a long excursion could prove to be super helpful if I find myself in a jam like that again.

Bottle Bright Natural Cleaning Tablet – Estimated Value $0.67 (Buy a 12 pk for $8.00)

Cleaning water bottles can be tricky or downright impossible to do well sometimes, even with the proper brushes and I worry about mold lurking in some of my insulated stainless bottles. This tablet chemically cleans awkward items like water bottles or travel mugs without the need for anything besides water. Simply drop a tablet in, let it fizz for a while, then dump out. I’m saving this one for when I really need it but Andy has used these a lot and had some insight: “I use it in our stainless travel coffee mugs, usually let it sit in warm water overnight then dump it out, wash thoroughly, and the mugs look like new,” he said. It gets rid of coffee and tea stains easily too which is great!

Verdict: Nomadik is determined to keep me hydrated this month with everything I need to keep water on hand. I love the mug and water bottle and I’m happy to have hydration packets and a cleaning tablet on hand for when I need it! The total value for this box is $53.29 which is $15 over the cost.
