Ipsy May 2020 Add-Ons Available Now!

Dang it, I forgot all about add-on until they were over. There were a few things I might have gotten. I love peel off masks and always need new brushes.

I really hope they do a second chance add on day as I saw Sugar rush lip swatches too late and the Cupcake shade is sooo much prettier than it looks! I wish ipsy had better color photography/swatch quality– they are so often off!

I’m excited about the add on’s and my ultimate bag this month! I got the skyn Iceland cream that has some great reviews.

Fabulous add ons. I used the money I would have spent on Boxycharm and got exactly what I needed and wanted for my sister’s birthday gift! I’m creating a self care package to ship to her. She doesn’t spend much on herself so this should be a real treat. Can’t wait to receive all my Ipsy goodies.

I added on the Kate Somerville DQ Wrinkle Warrior, Wander Foundation and Hey Honey Sweet Treat Mask to my GBP. I added the FAB Pharma Arnica and Goldfaden MD Wake Up Call to my GB

Some of my add-on options were different than what was shown and I was allowed to get 8 per subscription not 5.

Yeah, I was unimpressed with the $6 add-on section. It’s just items from the regular glam bag that they’re up-charging.

I did pick up the Pure Brazilian hair serum & the Purlisse plumeria body lotion.

Normally I try & avoid Purlisse since subs are so oversaturated with it, & I haven’t found a product from them that really works for me, but the scent sounds nice, & none of the other add-ons this week seemed worth the $3 to me.

I’m just salty that my Plus bag is terrible! And that all the good spoilers were peeled $18 add ons. I got total junk in my bag. I’m so done.

I’ve tried since 6am PST to access add-ons with no luck. So frustrating!

I’m fairly happy with both my glam bag and my plus. The only thing is I wish my liquid lip had come in the other color for my plus, but other than that I’m happy. NO BLACK EYELINER FINALLY.
I added on the Kate Sommerville serum, the Tarte lip mask and the Cover FX setting spray. Really excited to get them!

added the kate omega serum, the flowerly hand cream (so pretty,will be gifting this), This works pillow spray.
got SR in my bag (my choice) and the rest of the stuff is meh. still worth it bc the SR is such a good value

Add Goldfaden facial treatment as a add on. Pretty interesting in that one. This month’s ipsy plus bag is killing it. I got good gene as one of the item, love it!

My add-ons were laid out completely differently, grouped together by product category and not price. I really don’t like it and wish we could at least toggle between the two styles. :/

Happy with my Glam bag, my bag has the Purlisse green tea +lemon mask, Ssoroci eye cream love getting them, Benefit mascara my pick I did get one in my plus also, good thing I wear a lot of mascara ,the balm eyeshadow in St.Charles I have the brown palette in my plus,and a nice little surprise Catherine Malandrino perfume, I Love perfume! I did get three add ons Mudmasky vitamin serum, Tarte jelly lip mask, onekind night moisturizer. I wanted the super goop SPF eyeshadow wasn’t in choice or add ons. All I know is they better wow me with June spoilers and choices for plus or it’s being paused for a while!

I added the Kate Somerville Ceramides and Omegas serum to both my regular and plus bags. Love that stuff, and it’s a bargain at $18, since it’s normally $98. Glad I didn’t skip my plus bag this month, so I was able to grab two.

I also added the Soroci eye cream for $3.

I had a section of $6 full size items. Eyeko, girlactik and some others. Mostly eyeliners. I wish they would go back to just $12 full size items. I’m not paying $18 for them and then $12 for a small lip oil!?

I added on the Coloured Raine palette in the Vineyard Soiree and the Girlactik in Moonglow, because those are what I wanted and didn’t get in my GBP. But I feel like such a chump for doing so. I’m getting a GBP that doesn’t match my profile at all, and it feels like I’m rewarding Ipsy for ignoring my profile because I’m spending additional money. Just…really sad and disappointed right now.

Snatched up Good Genes just before 8am eastern time and talked myself out of adding on anything else. Great deal on GG even if I didn’t need it right away.

First time I’ve been this unhappy with my glam bag plus 😑 I knew I should of skipped along w my other 2 Ipsy bags but I really wanted that Sunday Riley good genes so Iam happy that I was able to snag that

I have THOUGHTS:

1) Going forward, I’m going to assume that *most* choice items will be available as add ons, which seems to have been the case the last 2 months.

2) While I understand why they don’t reveal add ons earlier, I would so much rather NOT choose an item and be able to add it on. For example, this month, I chose Good Genes to ensure I got it, but had I not, I might have been able to add it on 3 times (1 for each of my bags)! AND my bag *might* have been a better match for me. Ipsy would have made WAY more money off me and I would be a happy camper. I HOPE ipsy allows us to add on products already in our bags in the future OR be able to add it on to the bags we don’t get it in. I don’t want to encourage or facilitate hoarding, but there are ways to limit that. Why should someone who didn’t get it in their bag be able to buy 3 (or however many bags they have) while I only get 1? If I’m missing something logistically, please lmk.

3) That being said, it remains unclear to me whether making a choice leads to a “better” bag as I’ve experienced it both ways now.

4) I REALLY wish ipsy would put nail polishes in add ons already!

5) As someone on the west coast, I really wish they would open add ons and choice later. Don’t @ me, I GET that no particular time would work for everyone, but we *consistently* have to wake up at the crack of dawn so we don’t miss out. I know it would just cause confusion to rotate times, but they could easily make it a bit later like some other subs do.

6) Not a fan of them changing the order they list the add ons. I’m used to going by price and it’s annoying to have to go by category, especially when no prices are listed! I DO love being able to add 8 products now, though! I’m thinking I may cancel my GB and just do add ons for that category. Not interested in eyeshadow singles or lip balms and the Plus bags are basically the same size now.

7) Ultimate is getting better, but funny to see what they are calling sample and full size now, haha. I’ll let someone else discuss that…

I guess they aren’t doing bag charms anymore. At least, they didn’t this month. I bought one once and loved it, so I have been checking every month in hopes of them having another cute one. I hope they have them again next month.

Hmm there was also $6 add-ons..

I have GBP and I added the beautiful cosmetic bag from Ultimate. Very happy.
