Bespoke Post is sharing one of their upcoming boxes exclusively with MSA readers!
Here's one of the boxes you can pick starting June 1st:
Tonight’s special: paella.
It’s a quintessential, traditional Spanish dish out of Valencia, typically made with seafood, meat, and veggies on a bed of crispy rice (or socarrat, as it’s known on the Iberian peninsula). On top of that, it's a sharing and stockpiling food if we’ve ever seen one. So clear your countertop and start cooking — you’ll have a full-on feast ready before you know it.
This box includes:
This bad boy’ll definitely take the heat, crafted from durable carbon steel with red-painted handles. Designed to hold enough food for two-to-four people, its all-metal body can go from stovetop, to oven, to open fire with ease, and the handles allow for easy transport and presentation.
Break this pan out anytime you feel like a fresh batch of paella, but its uses don’t end there. You can employ it as a kind of sauté pan to cook meat, as a breakfast griddle, or in place of a wok when stir-frying. It’ll also serve you well on the barbecue, allowing you to cook vegetables and other small foods that tend to slip through the grates.
Rice ties everything in paella together, meaning you better be using the good stuff. Bomba rice should do the trick. It’s a premium short grain rice, able to absorb up to three times its volume in liquid while retaining that delicious bite. Plus, when properly cooked, it’ll form a beautiful, mouthwatering crust without sticking to the paella pan, due to the grain’s natural sugar content.
Now, there’s some debate as to whether chorizo actually goes in an authentic paella. But we think it’s delicious and that’s that. Dry cured and all natural, this chorizo ring is made from nitrate/nitrite-free pork that’s been raised without any antibiotics. More importantly, though, it tastes fantastic, be it in your rice mixture or standalone on a charcuterie board.
Rich and smoky, paprika’s always been an essential component in a proper paella, but can also be infused into dry rubs, sauces, stews, braises, veggies, or anything else, really. Note that we’re giving you the sweet varietal of the spice, which turns down the heat without sacrificing that smoky flavor.
Regional ingredients yield an authentic flavor profile, and olive oil’s no exception. Imported from the source in Spain, this premium olive oil is balanced and smooth, with a peppery finish that’ll perfectly complement your paella. That said, it’s flavorful enough to stand on its own — go ahead, dip your bread and see for yourself.
