SnackNation Review April 2020

Rule Breaker Birthday Cake Blondie - Buy 8 cookies for $27.99

This cookie has no gluten, dairy, eggs, peanuts, or tree nuts. The first ingredient is chickpeas! And GUYS. It is DELICIOUS. Seriously incredible. Very soft and chewy, and very sweet. This is a great option for vegans or for sending to school. I am neither vegan or a student but I really want to buy more of these (in like, every flavor, thank you very much) because it tastes that good. My only criticism: the sprinkle colors look like ham and cheese to me for some reason! Haha. That's so minor, though - this cookie is amazing.

Ekoa Pure Mango Bar, 1.23 oz - Buy a 12 pack for $21.99

This reminds me a lot of the "That's It!" bars. The only ingredients are dates and mangoes, and each bar is 100 calories. If you like dates, then you'd probably like this bar. But I can see how to flavor might not suit everyone and the texture feels a little gummy.

Bare Baked Crunchy Pineapple Chips & Coconut Chip Medley, 1.8 oz - Buy six 1.8 oz bags for $20.94

These are really good, too. I don't always love fruit chips, but I love coconut. I've never tried pineapple chips before but I was surprised how much flavor they have! They are very sweet and a little tart, just like fresh pineapple. These are another snack that is excellent and I want to order more of this, too!

Joolies Organic Medjool Dates Pitted Snack Pack - Buy 8 snack packs for $19.99

First of all, I think this brand has chosen an excellent name, and the packaging is adorable. "Guaranteed to lead to a second date" - brilliant. However, I'm a little underwhelmed with the actual snack. While I suppose this is a good way for someone who's maybe never tried dates as a snack to see if they like them, if you happen to be someone who does like dates as snacks, I just don't really see why you should buy these over a regular tub of dates from the store. These are organic, and I suppose the packaging is more convenient maybe to toss in a lunch box, but ultimately, these are just 3 pitted dates. Instead of ordering 8 snack packs (24 dates total) for $20, I think I would personally prefer to buy a tub of them from the store and just put 3 in a baggie or small tupperware to take with me.

Pear's Gourmet Sugar Cookie Confetti Cashews, 1 oz -  Buy a 7 oz bag for $7.19

I don't think I've actually ever snacked on cashews before; I've cooked with them though. These are really tasty! Sure, they're covered in sugar, brown sugar, dextrose, corn syrup, and honey, so of course they're tasty! One pack has 6g of added sugars, so I'm not sure I'd consider this a specifically "healthy" snack, but it's probably a better option than grabbing a cookie, and it has 4g of protein to make you feel a little better, haha. Honestly, I really did enjoy these, even if they bordered on being too sweet. I loved the texture, though - I'll definitely be trying regular cashews for snacking now.

Golden Nest Honey Teriyaki Pork Bar, 1.5 oz - Buy a 12 pack for $29.99

My 2 year old tried a beef stick from a previous box and surprisingly liked it! So now I'm on the lookout for more that he likes for snack time. He and I both like this - the flavor is really spot on and honestly it tastes like I'm eating Chinese food. This "bar" is actually 3 thinner, flat pork strips but they're sticky and have some sauce (?) on them so I can't see myself taking it out of the packaging to eat, or splitting it into 3 parts. Eating this with hands would be messy.

Verdict: I am having a lot of fun with my SnackNation boxes! So far there's been something from each box that I've gone to order more of, that I wouldn't have discovered or tried otherwise. This month my favorite is torn between the soft, chewy cookie or the tropical, crunchy coconut + pineapple chips!

I subscribed last month. Does anyone know when the May box will ship? I’m looking forward to trying it.

I signed up for the monthly subscription last month. When I didn’t get a box this month I sent them a note and they said I only ordered one box. I also gifted a 6-month subscription and they told me it was only one month, but they’re looking into it. I paid upfront for 6 months and waiting to hear about the remaining five boxes. I’ll have to dispute with my bank of SnackNation doesn’t resolve it.

LOLOL. I was all ticked, thinking the cheap box, a taster’s box, was gone.

It is NOT gone, and it is NOT $9.99.

Sign into Snack Nation and you will see: Dollar Snack Box for $1.00 and $3.00 shipping. 6 snacks just as reviewed.

It still exists, but with a slightly different name and a LOWER price. I’m shocked, but I bought one.

Hope this info helps someone else. The box has NOT been discontinued, but changed. 🙂

Doesn’t seem to be an option for new subscribers. Was this is a subscription, or just a one-off box?

They told me in email that it’s a subscription box. 🙂
We shall see.

I was ready to buy this as it reminded me a lot of the Walmart free boxes they sent for a year or two…

Only to find out this is a discontinued size and price and the CHEAPEST option is not the $10 box reviewed but one’s that’s $35 and up.

This feels like a type of bait and switch. I’m truly surprised at this site for reviewing something that doesn’t exist now but costs $25 more ( but I hate coffee) so it’s $30 more for the only box I could buy and enjoy.

FAIL!!!

Haley, Justin’s makes cashew butter covered cashews (it sounds really weird, but the effect is kind of like yogurt-covered snacks). I found some at Grocery Outlet & my whole family went crazy over them, even those who usually don’t eat nuts.

I also received Bare Coconut chips, but I got chocolate. I’ve gotten an Ekoa bar in a past box, which lead me to buy a sampler pack of their flavors when they had one on sale. I agree that they remind me of That’s It bars, but to me, the Ekoa bars pretty much all have a strong date flavor & texture. (I like it, but I prefer the variety of flavors that That’s It offers.)

My other items were SunMaid sour strawberry raisins, Pipcorn truffle popcorn, Karma cinnamon cashews, Kicao Almod energy bar, and Purely Elizabeth granola bar.
