March 2020 Petit Vour Review

Each box comes with a folded card detailing the items included, and the prices of the full-size versions.

Let's dive in!

Mo Mi Beauty Styling Jelly, 1 oz - Mini Size! Retail Value $22.00

I was immediately taken by how adorable this aluminum bottle was the second I opened the box this month. I love good packaging! I am happy to report that the gel product inside is also pretty great! It smells very high-end and like some sort of cool girl perfume with a slightly masculine edge. I used this in a couple of ways that worked really well. The first was rubbing a small amount between my palms and smoothing over my head to polish off a very profesh looking Zoom meeting bun. I have crazy flyaways and this really helped! I also tried it on towel-dried hair as a sprunch sort of deal, and it brought out my hair's natural heaviness beautifully without any crunch.

Alima Pure Natural Definition Eye Pencil in 'Ink', 0.04 oz  - Full Size! Retail Value $18.00

This black eyeliner is very smooth and filled with healthier ingredients than many others out there. I did find that it smeared a little throughout the day (which isn't uncommon for me, even with other brands!) but I still think it is a great option for anyone looking for a vegan and clean black eyeliner pencil.

Inking Scents Roll-On Perfume in 'Sultry', 5 ml - Mini Size! Retail Value $15.00

When I first sniffed this scent after opening it, I didn't really think too much about it. When I applied it to my wrists, I loved it. While I don't personally find it to be a scent I would call "sultry", I do think it is super feminine and very clean smelling, with notes of cream, amber, woods, and some rose. I didn't really get a ton of the vanilla notes that were listed, but I think it is lovely even without them. There is actually a nice amount of projection for a natural perfume too, which is always a good thing!

Pacifica Coconut Water Micellar Cleansing Tonic, 2 fl oz - Estimated Value $3.00 (Buy a full-size 8 oz for $12.00)

Finally, our last item is a cute bottle of micellar cleanser. I don't generally like coconut scents, and this one is pretty tropical. That would be the only factor keeping me from buying a larger bottle though, because add this to a cotton ball and your makeup doesn't stand a chance! I like to use micellar cleansers before hopping in the shower and using my normal cleansers, just because it feels like the pre-game to an extra great cleanse! This sort of product is also great for those nights that you don't want to actually wash your face (none of us do that though, right?) because it gets all the makeup and dirt off in a snap.

Verdict: This month's Petit Vour box has an estimated value of $58 which is good for an $18 box, especially if you are into clean and vegan formulations! I thought this was a pretty good assortment. I loved the hair gel and the perfume so much! The eyeliner pencil was also very nice, and even though the coconut micellar water isn't for me, it is still an awesome addition and product.

I love natural/vegan beauty products, Korean skincare, unique jewelry, and weird candies from far away places. When I am not waiting for my next exciting box you can find me painting or taking photographs of interesting people. I never leave home without pug hair somewhere on my shirt and a bold lipstick on my smile.

Just for a heads up, their customer service has really gone downhill and no longer will help for any reason.

I have read the PV reviews but never signed up. When they released the PV plus with a 20-25% off (can’t remember the exact amount) last year I signed up for three months and thought the value was there for what I was getting. Received three items that I have seen repurchased, which is rare for me. I did not know they started variations. Regardless, I plan on signing back up for the plus version when they offer another discount. Maybe for those who aren’t loving the current subscription, the plus at a discount might be worth the time 🤷

I did not get the micellar water, styling jelly, or Alima brand eye pencil. I wish I had!! Instead, I got a face wash for acne-prone skin (my profile says dry skin, no acne), a foot soak packet, and Fior brand eye pencil. The eye pencil was so dry it crumbled and was painful to try to put it on my eyelid. I wrote to Petit Vour and they did send me another Fior pencil–and it was the exact same. I literally pressed as hard as I could and no color was applied. I’ve never seen anything like it.

I loved the perfume! And the foot soak packet smelled great! And the customer service (sending a duplicate item) was great. BUT, my profile did not match the face wash at all. And now I have 2 eye pencils that are unusable.

Finally, I really don’t like variations in my sub boxes. Petit Vour started variations 4 months ago. Before that, it was the same for all every month. I have FOMO for other people’s variation every time, lol. I’m taking a break from Petit Vour for these reasons.

PS–A variation of April’s box is online now on Youtube, if you want spoilers for what you MIGHT be getting : )

What are the April variant items? I hate the variants in PV too. It felt like I get the punishment boxes so I took a break this month. The spoilers I saw was RMS eye shadow, deodorant, Akar oil duo & sunscreen.

The Mo Mi Styling Jelly is my favorite product this month. I have fine, chin length layered hair that is hard to hold a style. This styling jelly does the trick with no stickiness. The scent is very masculine, but I can deal with that! I’m buying a full-sized version.
