Fruit For Thought February 2020 “Raspberry Rose” Review

Here is the info sheet for the box.

You can also usually expect some type of small bonus candy or treat, and this month it was this sample of Bonne Maman jelly.

Michel Design Works Peony Hand & Body Lotion, 8 oz – Retail Value $17.99

This brand appears frequently in this box, but I am always happy with the quality of items from the brand. This lightly floral lotion is made with shea butter and aloe and left my dry skin feeling soft and hydrated. I thought the packaging was quite pretty, too.

Fornash Beaded Zoe Bracelet – Buy the multi-strand bracelet for $23

This bracelet features light pink beads and gold accents. We received the single-strand version of the Zoe bracelet, but I could only find the multi-strand bracelet available for sale. I like these colors of this bracelet, but I do wish that it was a bit more substantial.

Greenwich Bay Trading Co Tiaré Rose Spa Soap, 6.35 oz – Retail Value $5.95 (on sale for $5.25)

I am a big fan of rose scents, so this was a welcome addition to the box. The rose scent on this is a bit powdery, and I enjoyed the soap formulation that included cocoa butter and olive oil.

Greenwich Bay Trading Co Tiaré Rose Dusting Powder, 4 oz – Retail Value $7.95

I had never used a body powder before getting this in the box to try, so that was exciting for me. This is especially intriguing to me as a woman whose thighs will never not touch- and as south Louisiana has already reached the 80 degrees with 70% humidity, anything that is going to prevent rubbing irritation is going to pique my interest. This had the same scent as the rose soap, so this is the perfect self-care step after a nice shower or bath. I had fun using the body puff to apply it, and my skin did feel softer, too. Ingredients-wise, this is talc-free and contains corn starch, kaolin, aloe powder, and shea butter.

McSteven’s Pink White Hot Chocolate, 5.5 oz – Retail Value $10.95 (on sale for $6.95)

This is a white drinking chocolate that has been colored pink, and it makes the extra-loving heart spark with joy. This is the kind of item that you will either find adorable or too much, but if you like the taste of white chocolate, this made for a tasty drink.

Landmark Confections Dark Chocolate Raspberry Chocolate Bar, 3.5 oz – Estimated Value $1.50 (linked to the same item in a different flavor)

Can every chocolate bar included in subscription boxes be as big as this one? I don’t usually reach for fruit-filled chocolate, but the combination of dark chocolate with raspberry filling was sweet without being too sugary.

The Verdict: My entertainment options are dwindling fast, and self-care is at the top of the list in terms of things I won’t get bored doing. This box had everything you needed for soft skin and a sweet tooth, and that’s never going to be a bad thing in my life. This box emphasizes thoughtful curation over high-value items, and I calculated a total value of $44.34 for everything except the bracelet.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, your first box will be the May box (the theme is lavender lemon!).

COUPON: Use code MSA10 to save 10% off your first month.

Value Breakdown: This box costs $39.95 + $5.95 shipping ($45.90), which means you are paying about $7.65 for each of the 6 items.

I am a staunch believer that pineapple doesn’t belong on pizza and when I’m not working as a family law attorney I enjoy hiking the Louisiana trails (alligator sightings are a favorite!) or relaxing with Duchess, my cat. I’m a sucker for anything labeled a mystery box and I’ve never met a bath bomb I didn’t like.

  1. Jessica: it won’t be very cold in Louisiana for some time, BUT when it is, and if you drink: make a Hot White Russian. Replace the half & half in a regular one with extra-hot white hot chocolate made w/milk…adding the vodka & Kahlua after heating. So. Good.

  2. Gosh, are the boxes usually 2 months late?

    • My boxes always come on time. I received the March one a few weeks ago.

      • This review is super late, then. Not doing this company any favors with such a late review, considering Pam has been a faithful MSA follower.

  3. Lol, Pam definitely knows her chocolate bars! I’m still obsessed with the grapefruit-filled ruby chocolate one we got in November. I bought ruby chocolate bars from the same brand for my co-workers for Valentine’s day.
