The Box By Fashionsta for Men is a monthly men's box brought to you by online beauty store, Fashionsta, for $29.99/month with free shipping. Each box will include 5-7 full-size skin care and other self-care products for men with an $80-$150 value. They seem to focus on smaller indie brands that may be new to you, so it's a great way to discover companies that haven't blown up in popularity yet. Fashionsta also offers The Box For Women ($24.99/month) as well as a mystery box that costs $40 as an add-on with a subscription or $50 as a one-time purchase.

My Subscription Addiction paid for this subscription. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

The Box By Fashionsta for Men March 2020 Review

The Box By Fashionsta for Men comes with a simple info card that gives a short description of each included product. I am writing this review based on my husband's testimonial for each product! He is always down to try new products if I give them to him, so this was a fun and new journey for him into the subscription box world!

Master USA Pocket Knife - Retail Value $7.43

This was the first item that my husband showed me, he is obsessed with it! He has never owned a pocket knife before (he has secretly always wanted one though) so he isn't exactly sure how much use he will get out of it, but he did just use it while installing new blinds in our house. It is lightweight, easy to hold, has a comfortable handle, and a handle for your belt loop. It also comes with a striker pin that can be used to start a fire, making it perfect to have with you when camping or on a hike.

Naturally Vain Magnesium Foot Soak, 4 oz. - Retail Value $9.62

My husband went with me once to get a pedicure and never again after that so his feet are not so nice. I was actually really excited about this product for myself as well so we both used it! This is made with a blend of salts and minerals that protect and soften rough, callused feet. The added essential oils are what really did it for me, you can smell the eucalyptus the second you open the lid, I mean it really hits you! The tea tree and lavender add that extra bit of soothing scents that are great for a soak. This was a really relaxing product to use and it left our feet feeling soft and eased some foot pain that I have from working out and just being on my feet a lot. I really love this product and can't wait to use it again, it might become a little "date night" routine for us to do together even!

Marlowe Aluminum Free Deodorant, 2.5 oz. - Retail Value $10.99

We switched to aluminum-free deodorant a while ago so we are past the odd stage of having to let your body adjust to not using other deodorants. My husband said that he is really into this brand, which is new to both of us! It applies way easier than other natural deodorants that he has used, which is a huge plus because some can really cause some skin burning if you don't use it correctly. The smell is wonderful too! It is super fresh and clean while still being masculine. It has a lovely pine scent mixed with coconut oil. This is a product that I know he is going to want to buy again, but given the price, I don't know if he will be purchasing it when this runs out since it does seem to work just as well as other aluminum-free brands he uses.

BRÖÖ Craft Beer Invigorating Shampoo, 8.5 fl oz - Retail Value $9.00

I'll be honest, my husband is really picky about shampoo. Anything that I like he seems to dislike for some reason. He will typically wash his hair every other day, sometimes every three days depending on his activities, so he really needs something that will leave his hair clean for a few days. I should note that he has long hair and does not use any product. With this shampoo, he said it left his hair feeling dry and puffy, but within a day he thought he looked greasy and had to wash way sooner than he normally does. He did love the smell, but said that it did not smell like beer at all. It was very minty and left his scalp feeling very tingly. While this wasn't a huge hit for him, he still really enjoyed trying products from this brand and will continue to use the rest of the bottle.

RE-EL Shave Cream, 8.12 fl oz - Retail Value $16.00

I've known my husband for almost nine years and I have never seen him clean-shaven! That being said, he still has a small beard going that he recently trimmed down so he doesn't have a need for this shave cream. I asked if he even owns a razor at which he just laughed! Since he wasn't able to test this product I passed it along to my Dad! This shave cream has a wonderful clean smell that works to hydrate your skin with shea butter as an ingredient. My Dad said that this allowed him to get a really nice close shave with no razor burn. I don't think he is particularly picky about his products, but he said that he liked it and will use again. Thanks, Dad!

RE-EL Aftershave Balm, 3.7 fl oz - Retail Value $14.00

As I said earlier, my husband always has a beard, but he recently shaved his "winter beard" to a more trimmed down look. Since he had a slightly closer shave (not close at all really but close for him) he was able to test this balm! He has never used a balm before, but was really excited to give it a try. He said it has the feel of a moisturizer so it left his skin feeling extra hydrated. It does smell like cologne which he didn't love but wasn't a deal-breaker for him if he used again or not. I think this would be a great combo product for someone that shaves regularly, Father's Day gift maybe?!

BRÖÖ Detox Bar Shampoo Combo, 5.25 oz. - Retail Value $15 (currently on sale for $12)

This product was the shining star this month, my husband was obsessed with it! He said he typically does not like bar soap, but this had a wonderful lather thanks to the charcoal that left him feeling squeaky clean while still feeling hydrated. The smell is what really sold him! He said it smells like charcoal and bourbon, "what I imagine Tom Waits would smell like."

Verdict: This was our first time receiving a box from The Box By Fashionsta for Men and boy was it a great start! My husband doesn't "pamper" himself at all, he usually just uses the products that I buy for him so this really was a nice treat for him. All of the brands were new to him which he really enjoyed learning about each one and seeing what he liked and didn't like from each product. Each item received was a full-size product, you really cannot beat that! His favorite product this month was hands down the knife because it is something he would never really buy for himself since he feels like he wouldn't get a ton of use out of it but something he has always wanted. The bar of soap was his second favorite product this month, he said you really can't put into words how good it smells! For me, I really love seeing him try new products that he can be excited about and I can't say how happy I was that everything was full-size. We both agreed that we are excited about next month's box, but would love to see a shampoo and conditioner combo, a body wash instead of a bar since bar soap isn't for everyone and beard oil for all of those beard loving guys! This month's retail value came to $80.04, which at $29.99 a month for this box you cannot beat that value! After going through the products with my husband, I think it is safe to say that this would make an incredible gift for any guy in your life!

It’s funny that they say shipping is free for international orders, when they cost $30 extra than the US.
