February 2020 MoonBox “The Sage” Review

MoonBox has a totally new format for 2020's item guides. It is full of info for keeping up with the stars and moon cycles as well as plenty of rituals to follow.

MoonBox has made some changes; I received this info sheet in my January box, introducing the new and improved Moonbox.

They will now be shipping so that you receive your box around the 20th of each month, and they are allowing you to customize your box more by swapping out items in your box.

Moons of Pisces Calendar

This illustration is a similar style to MoonBox's 2018 cosmic collage moon calendars. I missed receiving astrology based calendars, so I was happy to see this new trend for 2020.

Cinta Soul Crystal Tea Infuser - Buy a set of 3 for $15

I am a full-blown tea addict, and some of my favorite blends are loose-leaf. Even though I love my Perfect Tea Maker from Teavana (R.I.P.), simple metal infusers are nice and portable, making steeping to-go easy. I received the Rose Quartz infuser, which is supposed to evoke love, harmony and optimistic feels.

Lauryn's Garden Makeup Remover Cloth - Retail Value $21

I can't have enough of these magical makeup removers. This cloth is activated by water and removes makeup by simply pressing the cloth to your face and swiping. It isn't perfect, I still remove my eye makeup with micellar water, but it works beautifully with the rest of my face makeup. It was an interesting process, switching from double cleansing every night to not even using a cleanser, but I am really loving the results. The cloth seems to do a great job of removing impurities, and my face has been radically clear compared to months ago when I continually had the same blemishes every week. This is a way more sustainable option, compared to using cotton pads and remover products, plus it is machine washable.

Mind's Eye Candle by Soy Much Brighter Candle Co.

This scent is outright seductive. One sniff and I was immediately taken away into a much more serene existence. Patchouli + cedar are two notes I never paired together, but it is a match made in heaven! Mind's Eye's fragrance is strong, and it burns cleanly without leaving any black soot behind. Soy Much Brighter is a great company that tries to leave as little a footprint as possible; they also use non-toxic, phthalate-free oils.

Bella Donna Peace Out Soap - Retail Value $6.99

I am typically a liquid body wash kind of gal, but this moisturizing bar is converting me into a bar soap kind of gal. Not only does it feel amazing on the skin, but the subtle, hippie-inspired scent made my hot shower even more zen. Olive oil and shea butter hydrate while patchouli, clove and vanilla give it that soft, alluring fragrance.

Amethyst

Amethyst is February’s birthstone, just perfect for Pisces, the dreamers of the zodiac. That gorgeous purple is my absolute favorite! We received Amethyst in our December MoonBox as well, but I don't mind having a fraternal twin of such a pretty stone. Amethyst is a stress-relieving stone of spiritual protection and purification. It helps to empower the body and the mind when negative energies are threatening.

Bonus Package

I received this mini shipment at the beginning of February. MoonBox decided to treat their subscribers to a little bonus package at the beginning of the month to hold them over until their new shipping schedule kicks in. This package included a new wooden lunar calendar for the year, a clipboard to keep the new graphic astrology posters they'll be sending out each month and a new MoonBox block to hold the clipboard up. It also included an info sheet so Aquarius didn't feel left out (chances are, they probably wouldn't get FOMO anyway!).

The Verdict: MoonBox's "The Sage"Box for February was filled with items to help you relax, just like a Pisces. I love the self-care items as well as the stone for this month; however, I am pretty disappointed MoonBox does not include an information sheet on the items featured in the box. I enjoyed reading about the rituals, but when it comes down to it, I'd rather know the brands I am receiving items from and how to use them.

I feel this box gets better as time goes by, and I love their mix of beauty and lifestyle items. The value of this box usually just about meets its subscription cost, and if you're someone who loves astrology and crystals, then this is a great box to treat yourself with each month.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, you'll likely receive the March box.

Value Breakdown: This box costs $34.00 + $2.75 shipping, which means that each of the 5 items in the box has an average cost of $7.35.

I’m a self-proclaimed “cool mom” who loves a little, who am I kidding, a lot of razzle-dazzle. I have been box-obsessed for over 10 years, and I am always on the hunt for new beauty, fun flair and trendy clothing boxes. A fun night for me includes an exfoliating foot mask and a bag of Dot's Pretzels while binging Rupaul’s Drag Race.
