Margot Elena Spring 2020 Review

This box comes with a card detailing all of the items included. I adore the watercolor illustration design this quarter!

'Song of the Siren' No 49 Shea Butter Handcreme, 2.7 oz - Retail Value $22.00

Three cheers for hand cream! Anyone else have chapped dry hands from obsessive handwashing? While I don't know if I am in love with this particular scent (a blend of rosewater, cirtus, and fresh ocean notes) I do love how soft it makes my hands. It absorbs really fast and the shea butter is a relief for my dry skin.

Dead Sexy No. 06 'Fearless' Travel Candle, 4 oz - Listed Value $12.00

I love when this box has a candle inside. I love to light them in my bedroom when I am reading, then blow them out before the lights go down. This is a blend of bergamot, juicy plums, white petals, and musk. It is more than a little sexy!

'At Last' Eau De Parfum, 1.69 fl oz - Retail Value $60.00

This is such a sentimental perfume. An explosion of white florals with powdery rice flowers, it has this ethereal vibe that reminds me of fresh flowers and vellum paper cards. This is a very sweet and pretty scent that I think a lot of people will enjoy, myself included.

Finest Perfumed Soap, 8 oz - Retail Value $12.00

Some of you may know that we recently remodeled a guest bathroom, and though it is not 100% complete, I have been hoarding pretty bar soaps for an antique soap dish that fits on the antique sink just perfectly! This bar will go to that collection. I love how soft the formula makes my hands feel and the bright floral scent.

Dead Sexy Lip Balm, 17 g - Retail Value $10.00

This isn't the most moisturizing or hydrating lip balm in my collection, but it certainly might be the best dressed! The scent is also interesting to me: a mix of rose, smoke, and... maybe leather? I mean, whatever it is, it totally works. It is a great daytime balm while I save the heavy hitters for the evening.

'Arboretum' Parfum Crema, 2.5 oz - Listed Value $21.00

This is a scent that has been re-released from the Library of Flowers archives. I wasn't sure I liked it very much, but for me, this was one of those scents you have to just apply and then let it woo you throughout the day. Best described as a yellow floral, the big notes here are ylang-ylang and cardamom, with an amber base. When I first applied this perfumed cream, this felt way too sharp for my nose. Give it a few minutes though and that spice kick takes over, and it turns into something that is somehow both like playing in a humid forest and being in an exotic spice market. Big fan of this.

Japanese Plum & White Tea Dry Body Oil, 4 fl oz - Retail Value $26.00

This is a familiar product for me, and one that I liked very much. My mom liked it even more, so I gave it to her. It is great that I have a bottle of my own now! The scent here is mild and a little sweet. It actually smells exactly like I expected it to! The oil is a blend of coconut, sweet almond, and grape seed, and while I don't recommend this for your face, it is super nourishing for your body, especially dry knees and legs. I also love that this is such a generous size and has an easy to use little pump nozzle.

Cucumber & Honey Bubble Bath, 16 fl oz - Retail Value $32.00

This is one massive glass bottle of bubble bath! You can get so many baths out of this! It is in fact, so large, that there is an included pump. Excellent! The scent is soft and clean, a mix of cucumber and honey, but heavier on the cucumber. It smells exactly like something I would want to soak in on a spring evening with the windows open and a book that I hopefully don't drop into the tub. Loads of bubbles here too, so you don't have to use a lot. I also tried it out as a shower gel, which worked, but not as well as an actual Margot Elena bubble bath. Still, it cleaned my skin and washed away without leaving anything behind but a soft scent.

'Dream' Perfumed Shower Gel, 8 fl oz - Retail Value $22.00

This is hands down my favorite brand of shower gel. The consistency is so thick and luxurious! Just a little in my hands creates such a thick and fragrant lather. 'Dream' is also a lovely scent that I really enjoy. It is bright and shining with notes of tea and honeysuckle. It smells super "clean" if that makes sense? I am always SO happy to get a big tube of shower gel in this box. I hope to never run out.

Verdict: My Margo Elena Subscription Box arrived at the perfect time. Since we are all stuck at home a little more often these days, I have been trying to slow myself down and really enjoy things like showers, baths, and a candle before bed with a cup of tea. I am naturally an incredibly hurried person, and now with nowhere to go, I am trying to embrace the beauty of normal things I would typically rush through. Everything in this box felt like an act of self-care, and I am really pleased with this assortment. This feel-good box has an overall value of $217, which is really wonderful for a $49.95 box.

 To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, the Spring box has sold out. The Summer 2020 box would be your first if you sign up today.

I love natural/vegan beauty products, Korean skincare, unique jewelry, and weird candies from far away places. When I am not waiting for my next exciting box you can find me painting or taking photographs of interesting people. I never leave home without pug hair somewhere on my shirt and a bold lipstick on my smile.

Got my spring box! This box is my first box ever! I ready on a previous post that they were unsubscribing because of repeats but as a new subscriber I am happy and glad she is repeating some items since I missed out of them before. Also, I am ready for summer spoilers! Any clues to when we might get the 1st spoiler?

I’ve never gotten this box but I admire how beautiful all the packaging is. One day that alone might tempt me to pamper myself. 🙂

Ugghhh I want this box so badly! Anyone interested in selling???

I’m a sucker for pretty packaging and every time I see this box I got nuts for it. The only problem is that I have asthma and my biggest trigger is artificially scented things. Just looking at these photos has me wheezing. Everything is so gorgeous and I wish I could get this one.

Take a look at their cottage greenhouse line! It has natural fragrances!

Jessica

Not true, even the cottage greenhouse line is artificially scented unfortunately.

I am the same as everyone else. I really missed the extras this time as I have canceled due to product overload. I wear the apron every time I cook. After I get through my backlog I will be signing up again.

There is a description on their website now that says all items in teh subscription box are their regular items. So no more custom items, I guess.

All consumables. While I love their bath/beauty items, this thing that made this box special to me was having the non-consumable items as well, like the mug, kimono, eye mask & pillow, water bottle, apron, etc. I’d resub for boxes like those before, but I may be in the minority.

I cancelled my sub after the spring box, but only due to product overload. I actually ended up cancelling all boxes. This, however, is a box that I will go back to one of these days. It has such beautiful items and I loved how they are packaged.

I really wish I liked “At Last” but it will need a new home along with the bar soap. My favorites are the dry oil and bubble bath. I’m so glad I signed up early enough to receive this box!

Also bummed I did not receive a non-beauty item. I am almost out of the cards..people love them!

This Box is always so much fun to open up! LOVE the Fragrances, especially Tokyo Milk, and lip balms! Loved the Cards in the past boxes, also!

Everything feels like a present!

This is my favorite subscription box, everything is absolutely lovely! If an item is something I can’t use then I simply use as a gift and no one has ever complained.
I too miss the extras like notecards, totes, and goodies but still love the box and gonna keep subscribing.

I love this box so much! I would be the only one to keep forever. I don’t use bar soap to wash my hands, only to leather up with a sponge once a week. I love every item, but miss the extra special additions: the scarf, the towel, the cup, the kimono, etc.

Jen

This box looks great, I may have to sign up for the summer box. Are there ever any discount codes?

Reply ButtonReply

Chantel

No, they have not had any in quite some time, and if they do, it is a free item, not a monetary discount.

Reply ButtonReply

Jen

Ok, that’s what I figured. Can’t blame a girl for trying though. 🙂 Thanks!

Caligirl

Hands down the best box! I do miss that extra non beauty item. The dish towel, apron. That took it over the top. Still have much love though.

I hate to chime in with the rest. It’s the novelty items- the quirkly cards, the apron, water bottle, etc. that really make the box special to me. Yes, we may individually gripe that the non-beauty product doesn’t suit us, but you can’t please everyone all the time. Sometimes I love them, some don’t suit me. . . but it’s what makes the box so much more special than just ordering online from the store. I hope ME returns to that, even if the non-beauty items are inexpensive additions. – and always have a candle in the box!
My annual subscription ended a few seasons ago and I’m on product overload, but this is the first box I didn’t longingly wish for when I saw the review.

I also love the special box items and hope to see one (or two!) in the summer box maybe!

I have given up hope that this box will ever ship to Canada.

Reply ButtonReply

Annalisa

Can you have the box shipped to a US address and then forwarded to you in Canada?
I do this quite often met boxes that only ship to the US. I am in the Netherlands.

I’m a little disappointed no non beauty items too, but I know a lot of people gripped about them. Nice mix and good value. I’m on hiatus because I’m overloaded with product, but I’ll be back.

Great review Megan. This was my second ME box and I always like to see what others think of the items. I realize that fragrance added to some beauty products don’t go over well for many folks with sensitive noses or skin but for me I feel like I’m at a spa when I use these items. Before this box our bath products were average at best. My favorite part is leaving the soaps, gels and lotions in the bathroom and having my husband come tell me a few days later how much he likes such and such. It’s a win for the whole house. It’s hands down my favorite subscription box and agree this box is timely considering our daily lives right now.

Thanks Lisa! I adore strongly perfumed beauty items, so this is such a great box for me. I get that some people don’t… but I am obsessed!

This is such an amazing box! I love opening it every season, it’s such a treat! My daughter and I got through it together and she usually nabs at least a few items. I was a little disappointed no extras this time (usually there is something special included like a set of notecards, pretty cup, or towels, etc.) but the amount of items made up for that!
